Though each Patagonia® product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, we can generalize our fit descriptions in four ways:
Formfitting: Conforms to the body's contours.
Slim Fit: Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
Regular Fit: Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers.
Relaxed Fit: Drapes loosely on the body.
Classic Boy Fit: Boxy, athletic, with a traditional crew neck.
Anika Fit: Formfitting and longer in the torso, with a wider, deeper neck (not quite scoop).close

Very nice technical boxer brief
November 09, 2011
I really like these boxer briefs; they fit nicely (and aren't too loose), they're extremely comfortable, and they didn't seem to develop too much of a funk on my last mountaineering trip. The cut on them is tight enough that they fit nicely underneath heavier long base layers when the weather requires it, and they never ride up or shift. All in all, they're an excellent option, and I liked them enough to buy a couple more of them.

I really like these! In case this helps anyone, I wear these more as regular boxers than their intended use of form fitting. I have a 33" waist and I buy the double XL which are tight enough to stay put on the waist and are loose comfortable everywhere else- which is my preference. Yet they still conceal the important areas (unlike regular boxers) when you sit down with shorts on.... if you know what I mean.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, flexibility of use, Cons: Cost
Patagucci is great stuff

I used to ski patrol a while ago and had a pro deal on patagonia, but even at twice the price it's still the best stuff out there. Buy anything patagonia and you'll be a happy camper, pun intended.
Quality Product but Fits Small
January 09, 2011
Purchased the Patagonia Capilene 1 Boxer Briefs to wear under bicycle shorts but found them to fit too tight around thighs. Would need to order one size larger. Recommend Patagonia Active Boxer brief instead, as the same size fit perfectly.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Cons: Cost

These boxer briefs are the only ones my husband will wear. Light weight, he said they are the best....

I have owned several pairs over the years and love them. They fit great and hold up well after years of use. Typical patagonia quality. The only negative is the cost, but again they do last. I have patagonia products that have lasted 15+ years, so you do get your money's worth in the long run.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: Cost
silky smooth and cool

I've had this model in this fabric for several months so I can write about fit and comfort. Both are excellent especially after hard exercise when you're looking to cool down and dry off hours before you can hit the shower. I mean, for a lot of us this is why we're wearing these things, right? These surpass the other Patagonia weight and other brands too. Stretches where it's supposed to and never binds or loosens up where it isn't supposed to. The durability seems very good but it has only been a few months. I am very glad to purchase more of these guys. The variety of patterns makes that easy too.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
best underwear ever
June 10, 2011
the most comfortable underwear i´ve ever had!!! really good for sport and other activities where you need quality underwear. About sizing- it´s true-to-size.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Great support and fit.

I have tried many different brands of performance synthetic boxer briefs and I must say that these are the best fitting, most supportive boxer briefs I have ever worn. They breath great, they dry quick, and they offer great comfortable support. If you prefer a looser fit I would get a size larger than usual, as these are quite snug, in a good way in my opinion.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

These are great underwear for everyday use. Since they wick moisture, they can also be worn as athletic underwear for outdoor activities. I am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to buy more Patagonia underwear. Fit seems standard/normal.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great value

If you like comfortable underwear these are the underwear for you. I got mine one size smaller than my regular size. They feel great after a couple of washes. When I'm wearing these I don't feel like I'm wearing underwear at all. They keep me dry during the summer. Get them!!! You won't be disappointed.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

I have had a few of these in the past and bought mediums, but this pair of mediums are not cut the same they are tighter in the waist and the seat. I suggest buying a size larger

Great boxer briefs. The Gladiodor antimicrobial treatment is outstanding. I noticed that these boxer briefs stink a lot less than when I perform similar activities in the Capilene 1 boxers for some reason. Lightweight and totally effective for me against chaffing. Sometimes I forget I have them on, keeps everything supported without making it feel crushed. Legs aren't too short, neither or they too long. Just right. Highly recommended.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Have had these and the patagonia active boxer brief for over a year now and much prefer the Capilene over the active silk weight boxer brief. Both are great but I feel the Capilene is a more comfortable fit and seems not to shrink (or maybe I am growing) or flex as well. Very quick drying and holds up well over time, the only issue is the Capilene is much more suseptable to snagging. Overall, am planning on getting many more for biking, running, hiking, and skiingPros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use

These briefs are great!! They fit tight , but I like that because I don't like the baggy underwear feeling wearing shorts or jeans. They are cool, comfortable and breathe great. They get softer and softer after washing. I got one size smaller than I normally would. Size medium. My waist is size 34. Anything that Patagonia makes is good enough for me. Buy them, you won't be disappointed!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use
True to Patagonia's Reputation

Cap 1 Boxer Briefs
May 21, 2011
This item was a pleasant surprise having a very comfortable waist band and the smooth filling of silk against the skin.I will purchase more and will never buy cotton briefs again. Some men may need to order one size up.Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value, quick drying, stretches well, non binding
Different experience from other reviewers
January 24, 2012
I was pretty excited to get these boxer briefs after reading the great reviews. After I first tried them all, they felt great and were very comfortable. However, after walking in them they started riding up which was not what I was expecting. For the price, they're just not worth it.Pros: Great design, Cons: Cost, Low performance
These are great boxers

I had tried Patagonia Active Classic (too loose/no support but good for low activity wear) and Active Sport Boxer Briefs (nice, but very supportive and better for intense activity) and was looking for a boxer for everyday, but active, use. These fill the bill perfectly, with a comfortable, supportive fit between the other two Patagonia synthetic boxer offerings referenced above. The material breathes very well, dries quickly and is very comfortable next to the skin. I have used them on long hikes with no chafing and just the right trade-off of support and comfort. They excel in everyday wear, as well. They look great. I will definitely be buying more of these boxers! I am 5'11", 175 lbs. and the Mediums fit nicely.Pros: Performance, Cons: Cost

Keeps me extra dry even in hot and humid weather. Will never wear another pair of cotton underwear.
October 02, 2010
These look great. I agree with another reviewer. Order one size larger than normal. They fit nicely in the back and look great. Material is comfortable but it is rolled up around your thighs (material is thicker there). This may be uncomfortable for some.
