Excellent shirts in warm weather, wicks moisture really well. Cool colors - colors don't fade. Excellent fit for thin build - broad in the shoulders small waist. Very durable. Doesn't resist odors well like merino wool so have to change these out regularly if the weather is hot and your sweating.

Good shirt
December 10, 2012
Overall a nice T-shirt. It breathes well and dries very quickly, probably faster than any of my other shirts. The sizing is true to size: it has a slim fit, but not tight like a compression shirt. My only (minor) complaint is that when I lift my arms over my head the shirt tends to ride up. I attribute this to the slim fit and the slight stretchiness of the fabric. I normally tuck my shirt in, and that seems to fix the problem. I'll be looking to pick up a few more of these shirts the next time they go on sale.

Great Moisture Wicking Shirt
February 10, 2011
The shirt fits great and wicks moisture really well. It would make a great shirt for hot and humid environments. I have used to jog as well as hike. Keeps you warm and dry, so what else can you ask for?

Great new fabric
December 05, 2010
These are fantastic multipurpose tops. I use mine for running, yoga, weight training, bike riding and under a light shell if needed. The new fabric is just as airy, fast drying and cool, but feels better next to my skin than in previous years. The shirt has a nice cut and drape to it that looks great. I normally wear a medium but like the fit of the large in these to use as outerwear. I'm 5'11" and about 180 lbs. These tops are also at a great price for the quality you get.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, nice drape to fabric, my girlfriend likes itAlready own the Patagonia Capilene 2 Lightweight T-Shirt? Tell us your thoughts.
Surprisingly Warm
January 14, 2012
Bought the Cap 2 shirt as a supplement to my Cap 1, thinking it would be almost as light. Was initially disappointed as this is a much warmer piece. However, after wearing it in a colder environment, I now love it. Perfect shirt in the correct conditions!
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of useCapilene 2, " The Performer "

The new capilene 2 light weight T shirts are as comfortable as the older models with a new seam that gives the shirt a more polished look. This shirt remains a winner in comfort, quality and breath ability.

Slim Fit
December 14, 2010
Note that this version of the Capilene 2 is the SLIM FIT. I tried the Capilene 2 before purchasing and liked the fit of the XL (I'm 5'10, 230 lbs) as a stand alone t-shirt I can wear for hikes. However, I did not know that this was the slim fit, which is form fitting, more like underwear / base-layer. I would not feel comfortable wearing this as a stand alone shirt.
Pros: Build qualityA shirt that won't disappoint
April 03, 2012
I am a huge fan of the Patagonia Capilene line of shirts. The Capilene 2 is a quality T-shirt that offers great comfort in hot weather and also serves as an excellent base shirt for a long sleeve item of apparel in cold weather. You get what you pay for. Having said that, you won't be disappointed after purchasing one of these. I own quite a few and intend to purchase more.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great valueGreat baselayer T
March 01, 2011
I like my baselayers to fit snug - I'm 6' and 180 and the Patagonia Cap 2 T-shirt in a medium fits fantastic. Good length to tuck in or wear out. Wicking capabilities are well....it's Capilene, they are awesome. It does the job it's supposed to. Doesn't stink after wearing it for a few days and dries quickly. I've layered it with a Cap 3 zip neck, synthetic sweater and a shell - no problems in terms of friction between clothing. Not a better base T on the market in my opinion.
Great Hiking T-Shirt
September 20, 2011
This is a great lightweight T-Shirt for hiking. I like to wear synthetic button up long sleeve shirts for hiking (Like the Columbia Silver Ridge), but also like a lightweight underlayer. Capilene 2 is perfect for this purpose. I get the ability to regulate my temperature with the outer shirt - while this lightweight garment adds comfort. When I pull off my pack I don't have the cold and clammy feeling of cotton. These are easily laundered, and dry fast. Another winner from Patagonia!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, PerformanceNow i'm torn between this and Cap 1.

Own a few of the long sleeve versions of this shirt, and have always been impressed with the comfort and temperature regulation. I own a few Cap 1 that i wear when it's just blazing hot out, but am tilting more and more to making my Cap 2 my go to shirt. I bought one size up to wear as a t-shirt, other than having to remember that when ordering, no complaints. Will buy more when i need some new shirts for the trail.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: CostA nearly perfect shirt

Works great by itself or as a base layer in cooler weather. Snug fit but fabric moves nicely so it is not at all binding. Weighs next to nothing and dries quickly. What's not to like?
Pros: Build quality, Great valueGreat!

Great fit. True to size. Patagonia finally got it right with these shirts by making them a little longer in the length. You can finally tuck them into you pants without the shirt end pulling out!

THIN SHIRT VERY BREATHABLE. DEFINITE SLIM FIT I AM 5'9 173LBS AND WEAR A MEDIUM. IT IS TIGHT BUT STRETCHY MATERIAL. WEAR IT HIKING OR UNDER A FIRST LAYER/FLEECE FOR EXTRA WARMTH.

I bought this shirt for my son. We were looking for light base layer clothing. He like that this shirt has a woven not a slippery feel that some outdoor shirts have and it is treated with odor control. Since he will be wearing the shirt for 10 days straight this will really help! The grey is kind of checkered which adds interest. The shirt is a slim fit which my son liked for a base layer but might be too slim for some.
