The open, highly breathable knit and feathery weight of Capilene® 2 affords unhindered airflow, excellent wicking for endurance activities in warm to moderate temperatures--it's also our fastest-drying Capilene®. Because of its low-bulk design and streamlined fit, Capilene® 2 also acts an excellent layering piece beneath Capilene® 3 or 4 during colder weather. The curvilinear construction provides an updated, fast-forward fit, with seams that won't chafe under a pack or climbing sling. Made of quick-wicking, fast-drying 54% post-consumer recycled (and 100% recyclable) Capilene® 2 polyester, with Gladiodor™ natural odor control. Made in USA. Common Threads Recycling ProgramResearch shows that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. Taking into account that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions [greenhouse gasses] reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material. I've worn this shirt everywhere from the office, to bike rides, to the beach, to the mountains. It never gets too hot, never gets too cold, and fits great as an overlayer, underlayer, or on its own. A great shirt from Patagonia.

I spend a lot of time running trails and the Patagonia Capilene series of shirts are the best I've found. They do an excellent job of managing moisture, and the zip neck really helps to regulate the temperature. I'm 6'2" and 185lbs, and the large fits perfectly; not too tight nor baggy, and the length is spot on.

We own this zip neck in several colors, and all of them make good on the promise of year-round wearability, excellent wicking and breathable fabric. Thin enough for warmer weather hikes with sun coverage; layer it for cooler days. Great fabric quality, too.

I have purchased at least 3 dozen Patagonia T's and / or crew shirts over the years for myself and friends from Altrec.
This is the first year ever I did not keep the #1 Cap T shirts for myself due to changes in design (neck opening is noticeably smaller on the Cap #1 T).
With the Capilene shirt being my primary kayaking and other activities shirt, I ordered 1 of the long sleeve #1 silkweight (neck fit perfectly). It not only fit great, but it fits better than any previously purchased.
I then ordered the Cap #2 Zip Neck, of which I also own one from a couple of years ago, and this too fits better than my original. These shirts are fantastic! Nothing out there wears like these Patagonia shirts, at any price.
So, while I am disappointed no longer being able to use the Cap #1 T, the long sleeve #1 & #2 fit is superb with noticeable improvement in design in the Zip Neck shirt.

I have been hesitant about picking up a shirt that was so much. But, once these went on sale I picked up a couple to test. Wow, I'm never going back to cotton. I'm 5'10", 175lbs and the fit is great, not too big or long.

Wore this instead of a fleece as a mid layer during a high altitude hail storm in July and stayed warm. Very comfortable fit. Fabric is soft but not clingy.

I have worn this zip neck some ten times under various sweaters while skiing in temperatures from 20 to 40. It breathes well, is not clammy feeling and allows the heavier layers to move comfortably. I am very pleased.

Great shirt, I've used it for hiking, biking, and running in warm/hot weather and it's been perfect for all of those. The fabric is thin but not fragile and is very breathable. Capilene 3 or 4 would probably be a better baselayer in cold weather, but this a great shirt for warm/hot weather exercise.

Another Patagonia winner - This shirt is a perfect base layer, and it zips down far enough for nice ventilation when you get too hot. When zipped up fully, the zipper guard really helps to keep your neck from rubbing raw.

I normally like capilene base layer and liners. However, this capilene is a little too thick and tight in the arms for me.
