Made from quick-wicking, fast-drying and insulative 64% post-consumer recycled (and 100% recyclable) Capilene® 3 polyester, with Gladiodor™ natural odor control. Imported. Common Threads Recycling ProgramResearch shows that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. Taking into account that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions [greenhouse gasses] reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material. You can't beat Patagonia quality. The fit is great and cut long for those of us with longer arms and legs. I'll purchase again

This has got to be one of the best shirts I have. I do a lot of hiking in 45-60 degree weather, so not cold enough to justify a jacket. With a wicked lite tee under this or by itself your ready to go for a while without having to worry about sweating. It keeps you warm but not to warm. Material seems strong and doesn't snag on the occasional branch that reaches out.

Besides functioning as an excellent baselayer, this product is bulletproof and looks great on and off the trail. I love capilene material and the fit is excellent(athletic fit). I wear a medium and am 5'10" tall. Patagonia as a brand stands behind their products and is known for their innovative designs, quality products and strong environmental conscience. What other company can tell you exactly what their product's footprint is?

It's no secret that the Capilene is the preferred baselayer for keeping you warm and wicking moisture, but the zip neck allows you to vent when you warm up and zip up when are cold.

I really enjoy this shirt its great for skiing, hiking, and hunting. I am also a big fly fishermen and that is prefect for hiking to the river and sending all day fishing it up. I am totally pleased with this shirt.

So warm that on a recent sub zero ice climbing trip I actually took off my fleece intermediate layer because I was getting too warm (Saints be Praised for bivy parkas!). Zip down neck is a plus for venting, plus it's nice and light. It didn't hold too much odor after wearing for six sweaty days on another trip. However, as I wore that as a base layer on the glacier, a lighter color would have been a better pick so as not to soak up all the Sun's warmth.

I love this material. The 3 baselayer provides an amazing combination of cooling/wicking, as well as warmth in cool Fall/Winter conditions It feels great against the skin. A flap of material protects your chest from zipper rub. Great looking and functional shirt for casual or active wear.

This shirts are excellent, you can wear them with a pair of jeans, or while you are camping. They keep you warm when it is cold but when it is hot they wick away moisture keeping you relatively cool. Very nice, I will definitely buy more.

These shirts are just awesome, they look great and fit perfect (I'm 6'3 and athletic, wear the large), very stylish and warm for how thin it is. The material and weave feels a lot like a standard Polo shirt but they provide a lot more warmth. I'd wear these everyday if I had more. I aim to buy them on sale since $50 is a bit much, but you won't regret the purchase, Capilene 3 rules. FYI: Capilene 2 is a lot more loose fitting and very thin and not nearly as attractive

This shirt does a great job as either a base or mid layer! Looks great and works fantastic! I have tried almost everything, my preference has become Patagonia Capilene. The material is durable, takes abuse, and performs.... on top of all of that, it's RECYCLABLE!

The Capilene 3 is a great base layer. The collar is very comfortable... not too snug. The zipper garage is a nice detail. The shirt tails are long enough to stay tucked into my ski pants. Overall, I would highy recommend the Capilene 3 zip neck.

this new capilene 3 zip is just phenomenal. (i received the navy blue today, and i'm awaiting the same in black.) it's terribly elegant... it's a versatile piece you may wear to meet your girlfriend's parents, climbing, hiking, trail running, or to the opera. the fit is form fitting, and athletic. it's ultra light, super comfortable, breathable, stretcheable, compressible... it's another beautiful piece from one the globe's best companies...
BOB - 2007-01-03my favorite shirt
I've bought a couple of these in white and I really love them. The shirt is nice and long and has a high collar. Fits me perfect. However, you have to be a little careful with white. Indoors or out, it shows a lot of dirt. So I ordered two more in navy.

This is a great shirt to wear as a layer for those cold days on the mountain or those chilly fall runs. It also looks great with a pair of jeans at the local pub! Well worth the expense...

A great base layer or cover to keep warm. The zip neck is nice and capilene material is wonderful.
Only complaint is that it's a little long if you have a short to medium sized torso.

Light and comfortable while also stylish and warm. I have 4 of these now. I like them because I can wear them as a base, and then sometimes I wear them by themselves and I have got lots of compliments on them.
