Very warm, and breathable as well
I am 175cm, and 75kg, the medium size fits me well. It is also warm, thicker than patagonia capilene 3 bottom. If you are seeking a baselayer which can keep your warmth in a temperature under zero degree, this one will be a good choice.

Very functional 2nd skin for cold weather
There are so many choices when it comes to long underwear bottom with great material, but the universal trend seem to be the heavier it gets, the less chance it'll have that functional aspect that's appropriate to men.
In comes the Patagonia Capilene 4 Expedtion Weight Bottoms to give you all that you want in a warm pair of long underwear bottoms and a pass-thru! The material is stretchy and very comfy next to your skin. The sizing is spot on - I'm sporting a 29" waist and the small fits just right.
I know I'll be in full functional comfort comes this snow season!

great for cold weather
I wore these in 17 degree weather and the cold was not an issue at all, even though I get cold easily. They're comfortable and thick but not restrictive at all, and they stayed dry.

Very warm
Love these. They kept me so warm on the mountain. It was about 5 degrees F and my legs felt great.

Best long underwear EVER!
The inside is so soft and comfortable. They are smooth on the outside, not waffle fabric. The Expedition weight is comfortable under dress slacks and are keeping me warm when I need to look professional.

Works as advertised, warmest base layer bottoms
I've been snowboarding for 10 years, and these bottoms are the warmest I've worn. I was using IceBreaker for my base layers, and after discovering Capilene 4's bottoms, I've gone ahead and purchased the full-zip for the top layer as well. There's been a lot of hoopla over wool vs synthetic, and after using Icebreakers for the last several years, I can safely say that Capilene 4's will change your perspective on everything. The inside of these pants are made of almost a fuzzy material to keep your legs warm in frigid temperatures (I went on a day with 0 degree weather), something that I would notice immediately with IceBreaker 320 bottoms. Thanks to the other reviews i was able to make an informed purchase, get the Capilene 4's.

A Gift for my Brother
My brother called these the best and warmest he's owned. Given his aversion to cold weather, that's a high compliment.

Very comfy.
I bought these for winter Flyfishing. Standing chest deep in freezing water and sitting in snow. These kept me warm all day in 25 degree weather. These are extremely warm and comfy. They feel thick almost like neoprene but softer and lighter. Have to wait until I get into colder weather to see how they do. Also have to see how they wear over time, I fish a lot. So far they are great.

Hubby is now warm
My hubs works outside and has been uncomfortably cold in his mid-weight capilene. These are the ticket! Highly recommend to anyone who spends alot of time outside.

The best first layer for everything in the cold
These truly are the warmest baselayer bottoms on the market. The inside is extremely soft fleece that feels amazing next to skin. The fit is slim in the calf and thigh areas (which is what you actually want and need to stay warm), but please note that the waist is larger than indicated (i.e., I wear usually a 34 or 35 waist which would be a Large by Patagonia's measurement, but that was really big, so in fact, a Medium fit perfectly and I would say it's more for waists of 33-35 range...maybe even 36).
Overall, these bottoms are a must for cold weather layering!!!!

Fantastic Fit and Warmth!
It's my favorite piece of winter wear, especially since it can go from very cold to warm in the course of a day.
