A cozy, snug-fitting collar and a deep zipper backed by a draft flap allows for handy internal climate control; biometric construction provides a superior, contoured fit with no bulk. Fine thread detailing and flat seams offer a touch of elegance and a smooth hand. The discreet, angled zippered chest pocket is easily accessed beneath bibs or a rain shell. Made of 50% recycled (and 100% recyclable) polyester from our Common Threads Recycling Program, with Gladiodor™ natural odor control. Imported. Common Threads Recycling ProgramResearch shows that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. Taking into account that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions [greenhouse gasses] reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material. The fabric is softer and does not seem to develop body odor even after a couple days of skiing. It is as warm or warmer than my older models and yet lighter. It is hard not to recommend it.

This is a great item that provides sufficient warmth, even in the midst of harsh climates. my body fat % is low, so I'm often cold, even in 80 degree temperatures. I wear this item as a "everyday" shirt and it keeps my body temperate regulated.

Form-fitting, which looks great. I'm 5' 10", 130, 33 sleeve but medium fits well and can still layer under. About half as heavy as an R1 pullover. Chest pocket is incredibly handy, yet unnoticeable when not in use. It breathes well and keeps you dry and warm. I've been wearing this all day, every day for the past three days (shh don't tell! I'm buying another soon..). I never thought I'd be in love with long underwear, but it's true. Still, it doesn't look like long underwear- it looks sharp enough to wear to more semiformal occasions. Overall, awesomely breathable and flexible layer.

I have Capilene 1,2 and 3 so this was my first piece of Capilene 4. It surpassed my expectations which were already high based on my experience with the other Capilene.
This is great as a base layer when it is really cold or to just wear by itself around the house

I wore my Capilene 4 Zip Neck and Capilene 4 bottoms as my base layer to a NY Jets game in Jan 2010 when there was a wind chill of around one degree F. I was not cold at all throughout the entire game.

If you're off to really cold weather (e.g., Nepal in December), capliene 4 is what you want. It's easy fitting and warm; couldn't ask for more. It fits true to size (I wear a large). Re Altrec, item arrived almost immediately and at a good price.

Have been looking for a layering system for ice climbing that I could use by itself if weather permitted...it did and it was the best piece of clothing I have in my aresenal..light but built to last..I have a couple of the cap 2's and 3's but this for the quality and price is the best hands down..Service

Capeline 4 T-neck worked great skiing multiple days in Utah in 10 degree weather. I was trying to decide between Wool 4 and Cap 4 and the little features like a zipper garage next to my neck made the decision easy. What's not to like, no brainer care instructions and great design. My only feedback is that Cap 4 is a little lighter than the old Expedition Weight product that it replaces. I went to layering with Capeline 2 under Cap 4 and now I have a new favorite combination that is actually more versitile.

I love the top and bottom combo for high exertion in miserable conditions. Wicks moisture incredibly well, and gone are the days of super capiliene stink on multiple day jaunts. Comfortable and durable.

another garment i love from a fantastic company. it has a contoured trim, athletic snug fit. (if you are familiar with their Regulator/Capilene/Wool gear... you probably know much of what i wrote below...) it's form fitting, warm, breatheable, super lightweight and compressible, and beautiful.
