Patagonia Men's Capilene Expedition Weight Fleece Zip-T
There's no Patagonia base layer warmer than Expedition Weight, which makes this Fleece Zip-T ideal for winter mountaineering and snow camping, but if you're not interested in going to those extremes you'll be happy to know that it's perfectly fashionable to wear this zip-T casually about town on cold winter days. Patagonia recently revised this design, adding a quiet, rubber-coated zipper pull and relocating the shoulder seams to an offset configuration that won't chafe under pack straps. The length is now a bit shorter so you don't have to tuck bunches of fabric into your pants (wear it hanging out--it looks cool and casual). You'll also find double-ply coverage around the neck and folded and stitched hems and cuffs. This pullover is a sure cure for anyone needing an extra thermal layer for their winter wardrobe.

Had it for 3 years now, still hold up perfectly. I think this is the warmest layer I have every had. It seems, for some reason, to be warmer than fleece to me. Put a midweight capilene on first, then this heavyweight capilene, then a shell, and you are ready for all but the most mid-winter stuff. Remarkably warm. Washes well (3 years), doesnt pill. My favorite layer.

Worn over a lightweight capilene bottom layer, this provides a lot of warmth. Add a Gore-Tex shell and you're ready for the wind and wet. Slept in mine for a week when I was caught off-guard by the spring-time cold of the Arizona desert nights.

I wore this under a superlight shell with one other layer. Below freezing temps with a 20-30 MPH wind and I stayed warm. Great Patagonia stuff!. The Altrec deal was just as good.
