Ideal for three-season hiking, climbing, backpacking, camping, fly-fishing and more, this multipurpose base layer has the right amount of insulation and wicking-performance for moderate-impact activities in cool weather, plus casual refinements to keep you looking good when the play moves indoors. This year Patagonia revised their men's short-sleeved t-shirt design with casual styling accents that easily transition from a technical base layer to a casual pullover. The rib-knit collar is wider and more prominent, giving the shirt a classic crew styling. Down below Patagonia shortened the length of the hem so you can wear it untucked without looking too techie. The great relaxed fit and generous roomy comfort remain the same.
GREAT!!!
Comfortable fit and feel!
Very comfortable but runs small
This is a very comfortable running shirt and chaffs a lot less than pretty much anything I've tried. It's only bothered me on runs of an hour or more and only on fairly hot days (80 degrees or higher). Definitely buy one size larger.
You'll never go back
I bought this shirt for summer climbing in an un-airconditioned gym. It works great! The fabric breaths far better than a cotton t-shirt. It wicks moisture and keeps you at a constant temperature. I prefer patagonia's close fit so that the material doesn't slide around while you're active. Downside, if any, is that the fabric's wicking qualities really soak up sweat and need to be washed after almost every time after high impact activity.

AWESOME
The shirt is nict but a little bit small.
Great Shirt !
you can never go wrong with Patagonia products and the Capeline LW shirt is no exception. Keeps the moisture off your body. Really light - can't tell if you have it on. Great for trail running or hiking or any outdoor activity in high temps. Only complain is they do run small so buy a size up if you don't like the tight fit
Comfortable with good fit
Shirt is true to size for me. Great for hot workout.
Great shirt
I've been using capilene for years skiing and this latest shirt continues to meet my expectations. It's noticably buffer than the silk weight capilene but still nice and light. It seems this particular shirt runs a bit small compared to other patagonia larges, but it fits me just fine.
Comfortable fit and feel
wears well, worth the price
Great!
Thanks for a great deal on a great shirt from a great company. My order was easy to place and delivered right away. I love these shirts and Altrec!
Light and nice
The Patagonia Capilene LW shirt is light and wicks very well.
Great shirts
Breathable and very comfortable for the desert southwest. The fabric seems to vary with respect to the color. I preferred the black and algea fabrics over the nickel.
Patagonia rocks!
Another great addition to my ever expanding collection of capilene. Very light and comfortable. Well worth the price for anyone who is tired of never-drying cotton shirts.
Required part of my equipment
I must say this shirt rocks. I just got back from a several day section hike on the AT in southern Virginia and tested this shirt. The temps ranged from 45 to 82 degrees and this shirt was perfect all day. I will always have at least this and a MW Zip T, and a silk weight to cover all conditions. As said prior, they tend to run small compared to other Padigonia products of the same size.
Comfortable and well made
A special thanks to Altrec for posting reviews, both good and bad. I gave a past purchase a dubious review, didn't think it would get posted, but when I checked, to my surprise, there it was. Altrec is in my opinion the best vendor of technical gear. period.
Awesome shirt
These shirts are great for any outdoor activity. I've used them for biking and hiking, and I am very happy with their performance. They are lightweight and have superior wicking properties.
Great sports performance shirt
It's a great shirt to wear while doing anything active since it is very light and comfortable plus it breathes extremely well so you don't feel overheated. This new version capilene t-shirt does run smaller than the previous version. I would recommend getting a size up if you don't want the tight fit.
My favorite tee
Well after years of cotton tees I have now joined the Capilene revolution. Just wish they had more colors! I will caution that these shirts fit tight to the body and one might consider sizing up if that is a problem.
Great wicking shirt!
I own 2 of these shirt. Excellent quality and excellent wicking fabric. I've used them as base layers in colder weather and also as workout T-shirts for running.
Highlt recommended.
Great Shirt, Runs Small
I've been using my capilene lightweight shirt for most of the spring/summer down here in Florida. So far so good. Here in the south the summers can be blazingly hot and ridiculously humid, so much so that even your wicking shirts have a hard time keeping up with the moisture. I have to say though this shirt from patagonia has done a remarkable job. I wore it just last week during a scalding day at Walt Disney World, in a normal cotton shirt I would have been soaked but my capilene shirt was good and dry. If the shirt does start to loose the battle to moisture it only takes a few minutes of cooling off in the shade or Air Conditioning to dry it out again.
I plan on buying another one of these shirts very soon.
The sizes do run small though, order a size up if you're not sure.
Awesome shirt, but a tight fit
Pound for pound, Capilene is tough to beat for it's claim to fame: keeping moisture off your body. I’ve tested recently in a couple of all out hikes this spring and it kept me notable drier then the wicking shirts used by my companion. Moreover, I've been as impressed with the quality of build and materials used by Patagonia as any of the other competing labels. The shirt is definitely lighter then most other wicking tee's I own –which makes it great for the heat and humidity of the mid-Atlantic (home for me). However, the large seems to fit snug as compared to other wicking tees I own. I'd consider bumping a size up unless you’re looking for a close fit.
Superbly comfortable and easy to care for shirt.
I have used this shirt in spring now for a month. Great comfort and look. Easy to look after as well.
Great Baee Layer
I've tried numerous base layers over the years, and have to admit, I was pretty impressed with this Capilene T-Shirt. I skied with it last week in 60 degree temperatures, and even with some backcountry skiing (i.e. hiking up) I stayed almost completely dry. NOTE: I would buy the shirt tight, I usually wear a L in streetwear, and went with a M in this shirt.
Great alone or for layering
All the lightweight Capilene shirts are great for layering or wearing alone in hot weather.
capilene t. tight
capilene is a great fabric, but this t runs snug so order larger
Excelent Product
...but a tight fit. if you want a more relaxed fit, order one size up
Wicks wonders
I've worn this by itself and under a work shirt. It does a fine job of wicking moisture away from the body to help keep you cool on hot days and in quite warm working environments. I purchased a Large based on my experience, but Patagonia's Large seems to be more Medium. I'd recommend taking it up a size if you prefer a loose fit. Otherwise, this is an extremely fine shirt.
Awesome
This shirt is great for hiking, biking, or everyday use. Keeps you dry and ready to roll.
Fantastic wicking fabric but runs small
The best wicking material (and strong) I have found. Great for biking, running, etc. Two quips, The shirt runs small, when in doubt, order the larger size. The neckline fits tight, if you like it loose, go for another brand.
Great for warmer weather.
Very comfortable as a first layer in warmer weather climbs. The first time I wore it I built up a good sweat at the start of the climb, but did not get chilled in the shade. I would go with a long sleeve version for cold weather activities.
So close...
Comfortable, gets the job done, but the ironed-on plasticy (no stitching - just painted on!) patagonia logo just looks so tacky. Oh why couldn't they just have left off the name on the chest?!
