October 27, 2012

This is my first down jacket bought in US, the style is of fashion and the quality is premium, though the size XL is a little a big for me, I usually need XL. I am a guy of 180 cm height and 84kg weight for others' references.

There is nothing better than goose down in the middle of winter. Sure its kinda big but that how its supposed to be. A removable hood would be nice. Exterior is durable but be ware it is only water resistant, not proof. This product was designed with warmth in mind and thats what it provides.

great jacket
December 15, 2011

5 of 5 stars My wife bought me the double down a couple weeks ago since we went back to michigan from fremont and didn't have anything to handle the dark, cold, sometimes wet, weather of michigan. i couldn't be happier. initially i was thinking of the fitz roy, but my wife was sold on this one's durability (i'm pretty hard on stuff) and it's water deflection capability. and i'm really glad she did. the first time i put it on, it felt like christmas morning when i was 8 years old. i love it. no matter how cold, or windy, or "miserable" other people keep calling the weather, all i'm feeling is comfy warm and cozy. so listen to the wife

Great Protection, Big Hood
January 04, 2013

Excellent water protection in driving rain, cuts the wind & cold. The tech-style nylon fabric is cool and the water beads-off. Simple and stylish, the cut allows for a sweater underneath but doesn't make you look like the Michelin tire man. Dual direction zip. Definitely for weekend/leisure time, not for the office, unless you have casual fridays. Very happy with this jacket. My only issues would be: (1) The hood is bulky and it does not detach nor does it fold-up and store within the collar. The upside though is that when the cold wind suddenly blows, a quick flip of your wrist covers your entire head and provides instant warmth and insulation. (2) There are three roomy exterior pockets at hips and left chest, however only one inside pocket that is fairly slim and not for storage.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: bulky hood, could use a larger interior pocket

This Patagonia jacket was just what I was looking for. I wanted a jacket that I can wear on my commute to work, and also around the ski mountain. I ordered a size large(my usual size), and have plenty of room to layer if I want. Was looking for a coat that has a hood, and this one is nice and roomy. Will keep me warm and dry.

The warmest I have got! and not very heavy. It is perfect for cold and wet conditions, for urban casual wear it would be a litter too warm. The color is manly low-key, would be much better if there were more color options.
