Great Sweater
December 05, 2011
I would recommend this to a friend It does a good job of keeping me warm even today in -10F weather. I think Patagonia makes some of the best products out there.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: CostDecember 14, 2010
I purchased this jacket for climbing and mountaineering purposes. So far, it has proven to be worth every penny. I have worn this jacket every day since it arrived during mid fall. It runs large - I usually wear a medium in all Patagonia gear and had to re-order as a size small.
Pros: Great design, PerformanceNever cold again
October 29, 2012
I usually wear this jacket under a camo shell during hunting season, but it's great around town on it's own. As a layer, it works great -- doesn't get too hot, even under a shell. Typical Patagonia quality. Lightweight warmth.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of usePerfect for campus life

Super light weight -- excellent layersing vest -- well made and not bulky.I work in the field. Warm, extremely light weight and VERY packable!!!

Can't beat it
November 28, 2010
As with all Patagonia products I have purchased, you get what you pay for. Big price tag, huge quality. The Down Sweater is super lightweight and very soft. So far very warm as a jacket to about 40 degrees and will be a great mid layer due to it's non-puffy nature. My girlfriend wants a comforter made of it. Fits perfect- I'm a Large in almost everything and this is no exception. Get it...
Cons: CostWarm Sweater
February 09, 2011
i was tired of being cold at sporting events, etc., so i decided to look for some warm down gear. i settled on this because i wanted warmth and not bulk, and that's what i got. i love this thing. not big and poofy, and it's warm, especially with any activity. great for layering too.

Best all-around jacket in my closet
January 12, 2012
Simply put, this is the best all around jacket I have. If I could only take one on a ski trip this would be it. My only complaint is it doesn't seem to be as durable as previous gear I have had from Patagonia.
Pros: Performance, Cons: Wears quicklyWeightless Warmth
March 26, 2012
This sweater easily makes the crossover from fully functional working adventure wear to stylish wear for every day. Handles wind very well and is very warm at such a lightweight. Great top cover in layering when hiking.
Pros: Build quality, PerformancePerfect Present
November 18, 2010
Perfect fit, super lightweight, yet warm enough for a winter day. My husband gets compliments on it daily.
Pros: Great designComfy but orange is transparent
March 21, 2012
I received this jacket and really wanted to like it but the orange color is see through exposing the black and white down inside (the wife made me return it -- she objects to my 4 stars but another color would probably be fine). Its pretty light weight with not as much loft as I expected. But unless you are out in the really bitter, probably would be nice for backpacking.
Pros: comfort, light weight, Cons: orange is see throughDid you recently buy the Patagonia Down Sweater? Write a review.
patagonia mens down sweater
October 26, 2011
Love the fit & quality. Runs true to size. Warm, yet very lightweight. Greta for travel. Will buy another one. Easy to pack & will last a lifetime. I highly recommend it to anyone living in colder, drier climates.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of useMy man loves this jacket!!
November 11, 2010
I bought this in color autumn leaf for my fiance for his birthday and he loves it!! The color is really nice, I was nervous getting one so bright but it is perfect! He has been wearing it a lot even though it isn't that cold yet and has been a little warm. He is normally a M or L but the M fits perfect, maybe even a bit roomy, def get the size down if you are in question! All around great product and very happy with Altrec
Pros: Great design, Build qualityMen's Down Sweater
March 20, 2012
Real nice product. Light and compact. The outer material was soft and pliable. Runs a bit on the large size and is a regular (that is, not slim) fit, so can be a bit puffy in the upper arms.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts foreverAlready own the Patagonia Down Sweater? Tell us your thoughts.
January 05, 2011
Good looking, but too thin and flimsy! Was looking for more of a ski coat, so we went with the down sweater.
Pros: Build quality, Cons: Bad designGreat coat
February 24, 2011
Very nice coat, warm, well constructed and good materials. Just one gripe...the "belly" area is very large and if you are a fitness person you may find that the area is a little on the large side. Otherwise the jacket fits well and has the quality I expect from Patagonia...
Pros: Build qualityWarm and light Patagonia down sweater
March 13, 2011
Of the several down sweaters I own, this is the snuggest and most airtight. I'm 6'2" 178lbs and the large size allows one heavy shirt underneath. The arms are cut long and large diameter for great mobility. The sweater is stuffable and quickly wearable, an almost weightless small package you can take along for outside, or even in a briefcase in town. Layered, it does seem windproof on its own (my Marmots are not) under a shell. The 800 fill goose down does the job. Pricey, but very warm, quickly. As with all sweaters, there's no hood, so you need a securable shell for head and neck coverage, warmth, and to seal out wind and water. I like sweaters because they do not limit mobility-you're not fighting the gear to bend over, twist or climb. If too hot, stow it in a tiny, no weight package.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformancePatagonia's Down Sweater Rocks!
December 03, 2010
This latest iteration of Patagonia's Down Sweater is near perfect. Form and function for the mountain, workplace, or around town. The design and construction are first-rate, and the sizing is dead-on. The jacket's wind-resistance is decent and the DWR coating sheds light precip. Although Patagonia specifies the jacket as a Regular fit, it leans toward an athletic fit. The Down Sweater works as an awesome outer-layer or a mid-layer under a shell. Definitely one of my favorites and worth the $$$.

good product
November 07, 2011
I used it when I travel to tibet. It is really light and easy to use and pack. What a amazing product of Patagonia. The sharp color also make me visible in mountain. However, it did not seem so durable.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useAugust 25, 2011
Great jacket for its intended purpose, high quality. Provides a truly warm jacket, with lightweight down features, extremely mobile and packable in small spaces.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts foreverHighly recommend
November 17, 2010
Very thin, not "puffy" at all, fits true to size, drawstring at waist, very nice jacket...and the price was good, too!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueFits the bill as advertised
November 22, 2010
For starters, I am 99% satisfied with the Patagonia Down Sweater, subject to one minor complaint - the zipper occasionally unhooks at the bottom. While it is possible that I might have not engaged it properly, why does it only happen on this item? It's warmth is as expected for a lightweight down sweater...get a big puffy down jacket if you want something for low energy output activities. This one is great for winter hiking in the White Mountains as an emergency jacket...it provides good warm, it fits under my hard shell, and it packs really small. As I said, it isn't intended as an "around town" jacket in a northern climate, so get a big puffy one if that's what you need (I love my the Cloudveil Down Patrol for around town).
Good for around town or midlayer
December 06, 2010
Very good light weight warm jacket. Could use an extra pocket or two. Fits a little large around midsection on 5'9" 155 lb. male. Will work quite well as midlayer under hard shell in wet/windy weather, or on its own in tempreatures between 15-35 F. Recommended.

Warm, packable jacket
February 23, 2012
This jacket is very packable, meaning it stuffs right down to a small size in my pack. When you get it, it doesn't seem very thick, but don't be fooled. You put it on and immediately feel the warmth. It is a nylon shell and is windproof, which is great. The collar is high enough to protect my neck and yet not feel like it is choking me. It is also a snug fit around the neck when fully zipped, good for keeping in warmth. I'm 6'2", 205, and a large fit me nicely. I wouldn't want to be much bigger, though, before I went with an XL. I would buy this jacket again in a minute.

Best Down Jacket on the Market
January 15, 2011
I wanted a down jacket for winter hiking and camping expeditions. I didn't want a bulky/puffy jacket, but I wanted the warmth of a full 800+ fill down. I tried on several comparable jackets and kept coming back to this one. It's perfect! Warm, lightweight, compact, very high quality...no complaints. I normally wear an XL but a Large fit perfectly in this jacket.

Toasty Warm Sweater
December 06, 2010
This is a very warm sweater. It is light as a feather and looks good. I use it for skiing and only on very cold days. The only improvement I can think of would be a larger pocket that the jacket could be folded into. That would make it more portable. VERY NICE.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: CostLooking Good
January 16, 2011
This is a jacket that covers a wide range of temperatures. It is very light and feels good even around the house. My wife really likes the way it looks and that's the standard that matters. I have a nice leather jacket but this is warmer and much more comfortable. It is standing up to a Wisconsin winter very well.
Great buy
November 10, 2010
I've only been wearing mine for a few weeks now, but I'm lovin' it so far. Came home from Central America to 30 degree temps and I've been living in this jacket ever since. Super comfy, fits great, and lightweight. I would highly recommend this jacket to anyone.

Great for mid or outerlayer
December 05, 2010
I had previously purchased the nano pullover. That was for use for a mid-layer in 0 degree weather and and outer layer on a 25 degree fishing day.I was perfectly warm on both occasions.Based on this I purchased the down sweater which is almost as light and wamer. This can be utilized as an outerjacket when you don't want bulk or an under layer. This item greatly exceeded my expectations. It is up to the high standard of Patagonia.I would definitely recomend it.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: CostWarm and Comfy
November 21, 2012
Very warm, comfy and stylish. One of the best down sweaters out there. Solid construction. Fit is pretty true. I'm athletic 6'1"" and 175 and usually go large in outerwear, but I was looking for a nice close underlayer type fit so I got the medium. It's maybe a tad short in the arms and torso, but just the fit I wanted. I'm guessing a large would have worked if I wanted to just wear this as a jacket. List price is pretty expensive, but got a great deal on Altrec.

nice jacket
January 24, 2011
very nice jacket. super light weight, but very warm. very compressible and my new go-to jacket. the outside of the jacket seems a little fragile. treated the jacket like a baby for the past few weeks, but have still managed to see a few feathers make their way out of the jacket. been wearing it under a shell while skiing and have stayed super warm.

Great Patagonia jacket

Super warm, looks great -- get all kinds of compliments. Very packable. I would buy this jacket again and would recommend it to anybody. The jacket is a little pricey as all Patagonia products are, but well worth it.
Weightless Warmth

Pros: lightweightGreat Jacket
December 10, 2010
Another fine Jacket from Patagonia. The Down Sweater is much warmer than many other jackets in my wardrobe, but is a fraction of the size and weight. I was extremely impressed with just how cozy this jacket kept me in 20-30 degree temperatures with just a t-shirt on underneath. Like most Patagonia products - it is completely windproof and easily packable. Light enough to serve as your bottom layer and warm enough to be your outer layer as well. Great all around Jacket - I highly recommend it to anyone.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueThis is an awesome coat!
December 27, 2010
My parents purchased this coat for my birthday and I was very satisfied with it. It is lightweight, compact-able, and extremely warm. The medium is a bit large on me, I am 5'7" 145lbs male. I have not been able to truly test it's durability, but I have worn it out in the snow and have been very pleased with it. It kept me warm and it stood up against wear and tear from rolling around in it. All around, It's definitely the best coat for the price.

Very Happy
April 07, 2011
I recently bought the down sweater vest. I should have bought this vest years ago. I am so happy with this Patagonia. if I wasn't, then I would simply return it. That is not the case. The second day I had my vest I went out on my KLR650 motorcycle. Just with a long sleeve T-shirt. the wind did not compress the down in any way. Painting in a cabin here in New Mexico at 8,000' it was cold all day. So I wore my down sweater vest with a shirt underneath. So as not to ruin my vest with paint, all I did was wear a sweat shirt on top. You forget that the vest is on. Climbing up and down on ladders all day you do not get that tight fit under the arms. With plenty of movement on my back. It is hard to believe that something that is so light, about the same weight as my wallet can keep you so warm. I am leaving for Australia for two months. Before I go I will be buying the jacket as well. You will not be sorry or regret buying this vest. Most of all you will get great customer service when calling the 800#. walkabout in New Mexico
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuea featherweight layer
April 13, 2012
This jacket is all it should be. My size L is 28" long at the back so it will fit under most anything, even a shortish jacket or shell, and 344 g. light. It is silky slick nylon so the arms do not bind with friction in jacket sleeves and the outer layer can move over it without much friction, adding to the overall comfort. Nice having a thin 800 fp down layer that adds much warmth to whatever you want to wear it under. All zippers are smooth and easy to operate. I have many lightweight down sweaters and this one is probably the most comfortable. Just don't take it into brush without something over it. The lightweight silky nylon probably wont take much abuse. It's a little pricy but worth it.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of usePerfect Solution
October 31, 2011
This Jacket is perfect and amazing! It allows mobility while not being too bulky. The material is really smooth and soft to the touch and very comfortable which I think makes up for the lack of water resistance which is often shiny looking. Besides if its raining just wear it under your shell. I got mine for backpacking in winter and at 20 degrees it was too warm when worn with a base and midweight layer. Only had to wear it in the morning while making breakfast and at night while sitting at the campfire. Its super light and not too bulky but still thick enough to keep you warm. It packs down very small and is a nice little piece of insurance in your pack in case conditions get cold.

This is my go to jacket when the temperature starts to drop outside. It is extremely warm yet light weight. Also perfect for packing in on a remote hike or fishing trip-- compresses down into its own pocket. Just a really Great Jacket!!!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceGreat Around Town Jacket
December 06, 2010
I purchased this jacket in the Rockwall color (charcoal) which looks good with just about anything. I'm 5'8" and about 180 and the size Large fits great. This jacket will keep you warm but not too warm when you are running from store to store or mall shopping. It is very lightweight and compresses to a very small size for packing. I checked out several brands but finally went with Patagonia because of its reputation for quality. Probably paid a little more but worth it in the long run.

warm cozy wear it all the time
March 02, 2011
My husband and I were traveling to Switzerland for the winter and we were looking for a light weight, warm jacket. After lots of research, we purchased this jacket. It is lovely, light weight and very warm. It folds to a small size and can be stored in a bag. Well to make a long story short, I loved his jacket so much that I bought one for myself before our trip. I wear mine now everyday even though we are back in LA. I don't leave home without it.... I just love this jacket. Best investment. Some time I even just use it as a blanket on my legs when am sitting in an outdoor area. Love it.....
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueVery nice down jacket. True to size.

I bought this for my husband after he admired mine for two years and remarked how I never took it off. Sure enough, now we tease him about never taking his off, either! What is it about the construction of this garmet that makes it feel perfect, whether you wear it indoors or out? Weightless but warm, but not too warm, but warm enough, but not hot....should be called "the Goldilocks jacket"---just right!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, launders easilyWon't Want to Take Off
October 14, 2012
I bought this sweater as a fall jacket/winter midlayer for Chicago, and after putting it on for the first time, I never wanted to take it off. Amazingly it keeps you warm in pretty cold temps but also doesn't overheat in daytime highs (warm but not sweaty). I have to remind myself, however, that it's a sweater and not a jacket, and this lack of versatility (not a shell) and low durability are my only drawbacks. As far as sweaters go, you won't find anything better though.
Pros: comfortable, Cons: Wears quicklyGreat Mid Layer
January 08, 2011
Not to puffy and not to thin. Great for So. California winters. Fits nicely over base layer and under shell top layer, or as a top layer on dry days.
Superb Patagonia Quality & Style
November 08, 2012
I don't know how Patagonia packs so much warmth into such a thin jacket but it's just amazing. The perfect traveling jacket that packs compactly into your luggage. High quality, durable, and stylish...that's why I own a half dozen Patagonia jackets and vests!

This is an ideal layering or stand alone garment. It weighs next to nothing. The fit is true. I handily recommend this jacket, especially if you inside, the out, the inside, the n out. The jacket will follow you

Great coat - bought it because I knew Patagonia has an amazing warranty policy and trust that it's a great product and they're a great company. The down keeps you not too warm, not too cold.

My husband absolutely loves this coat and he usually doesn't have much to say about clothing. It is light weight, warm, and looks stylish. It is perfect for those really cold Seattle days, and you don't over heat while wearing it (all according to my husband). He didn't like the price tag, but realized for the quality it was worth the $$. I think I am going to buy myself one now.
Pros: Great design, Lasts forever, PerformanceAwesome Jacket
October 25, 2011
The warmth of this jacket is awesome for it's weight and packs down really small. It is one of the most comfortable jackets I own. I would highly recommend to others.
Pros: Great design, Great value, comfort, warmthOne of my favorites....
October 01, 2010
Bought as a warm base layer for skiing. The "sweater" did not disappoint. It kept me warm on the lifts...probably a little better than a comparable weight fleece layer. Very deceptive lightness and no issues with durability so far; construction quality seems excellent. One of the few pieces of clothing of mine that my wife is jealous about ! She took to wearing the jacket around the house...it's very comfortable and soft despite being waterproof etc. I'm 6'2 and XL was a good fit.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceLove this Coat!
September 01, 2011
I love this coat. It is the color and type that I wanted. It is a men's but I didn't really care. This is perfect for year round wear. And I like these light coats with the warmth of a heavier coat. Highly recommended.

January 07, 2011
I was looking for a jacket that was not too heavy but could be used on it's own in winter. The down sweater seems to be the one. I find that it's great by itself when temps are in the 30s and 20s. It has not dropped down to the teens yet since I've had the jacket but I think I'll still be OK. I am assuming that if it's really windy, or obviously wet snow rain, then a shell really helps. I spent a few hours outside in high 20's and wind the other day and had a softshell on, and I was hot. Since this jacket is not too bulky, it fits fine under my softshell just fine. For a few years I suffered with just a softshell becasue I hate big bulky coats. I was always cold because softshells have no insulation. What was I thinking? Anyway, the down sweater is the answer for me. I'm usually cold and hate cold weather and I find the down sweater provides enough insulation to keep me comfortable. Highly recommended.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Cons: CostLightweight Warmth
February 23, 2011
Once you have moved from heavier weight clothing to a lighter weight, it is very difficult to go back. Over the years, weight has become a key factor in my decision making process. This jacket is as light as they come, literally featherweight and fantastic. As indicated in the product ratings, fit is true to size. I'm 5'10", 180lbs and the large fits me perfectly. Prior to purchasing patagonia's Down Sweater Jacket, I purchased the Down Sweater Vest. The vest is a slim cut, which is noted on Patagonia's web site. The Jacket, on the other hand, is a regular cut which is more generous and much more comfortable. I really love everything about this jacket...lightweight, packable and very warm. The exterior material is rip stop but I'm very conscious about the perceived fragility of the fabric. It's not a work jacket and I don't treat it as such. Overall, I highly recommend Patagonia's Down Sweater Jacket.
Husband LOVES it!

Pros: Ease of useGreat lightweight down jacket
October 23, 2011
This is the first time I've bought Patagonia product. This is a very lightweight comfortable down sweater. I find is quite warm on cold mornings. I also used it at a local heart walk and it was warm, light and comfortable. It was quite a windy day, damp and cold. I would recommend this product to anyone. I plan to wear it for most of the winter. It fit's true to size and the grey was the perfect color for me. My next purchase will be more colorful, maybe orange or lime green :)
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, lightweight, very warmversatile
June 24, 2011
Great warmth for weight & fairly wind proof. I wear it all summer long in San Francisco and it packs down to take up very little space for traveling. It is cut a bit wide in the arms and belly: The medium fit my torso perfectly (6' 2" 180), but I needed the large for length.
Excellent insulation
January 08, 2011
This down sweater is perfect for ski trips. I wear it under my shell and stay toasty warm down to below zero; by changing the layer I wear underneath I do not overheat up to freezing or so. Great thing about the coat is it is multipurpose - great to wear out to shop, out to dinner - it is warm, comfortable, stylish - so I no longer need to bring a casual coat with me on ski trips. I am very happy with this purchase.
Pros: Great design, Ease of use, Great valueEssential Equipment
October 16, 2011
Hey, look, I have wanted a Patagonia down sweater for a long time. What is not to like - it is incredibly light, incredibly warm, and extremely "packable." Perfect to carry on a alpine touring expedition, as all you need is a light shell to put over this puppy and you are good for some pretty low temps and high winds. Only problem, they are pricey, so you need to find them on sale. Worth the wait!
Pros: light, warm, packable, Cons: priceyColor off from photo, other knit picks
April 05, 2012
I bought 'red apple' hoping for a color that was red, like the photo . . . the genuine article is migrating pretty close to orange. On a number of occasions I have 'caught the fabric' inside the pocket with the zipper - causing a 'locking' of the zipper. After fairly intricate effort I was able to free the zipper. This process has repeated itself a number of times. The jacket itself is terrific and functional. I think highly of it and intend to use it for years to come.

Why did I wait so long to buy this down sweater?
December 06, 2010
This is by far the most incredible piece of outer gear I have ever purchased. At 12+ ounces, the "warmth to weight" ratio is off the charts and I think it has a mind of it's own... When it's really cold outside it keeps me really warm but when it's not too cold, it seems to know the exact amount of warmth I need, to stay comfortable. In addition to being very functional, it's stylish as well. I have received compliments on it every time I've worn it since the day it arrived; which has been pretty much every day...! As far as size is concerned, I'm 6'4" 185 pounds with a 36" sleeve length. I normally would wear an Extra Large in a jacket but the sleeve length on the large was just right and since I'm fit, I did not need the bulk of an Extra Large. The draw string at the waist allows you to customize the fit around your waist and hips. If you could only buy "one" piece of outer gear, this should be it; 7 days a week and twice on Sunday. Buy it and head for the hills...!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: CostWarm, well-fitting, and comfortable

I bought this jacket for my husband, to lighten his backpack (replace fleece). He likes it so much that he keeps wearing it around the house! It is a great fitting Patagonia product (6', 179 lbs, bought a medium) and meets his preference of a more regular fit. Not too loose and baggy and not too tight across the chest and mid-section. Upper arms are a little puffy, but not so noticeable. And so much lighter than his existing fleece!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Great value, vibrant colorAlready own the Patagonia Down Sweater? Tell us your thoughts.
Like wearing air

really light fits well great under shell if cold out or alone if cool and dry. Not much wind or rain resistance. Packs down to pocket size . Looks slick not Michelin man like.
My man loves this jacket!!

Pros: Ease of usethe perfect down "sweater"

I already own the Patagonia down sweater and wear it constantly... it's light as a feather, comfortable and very versatile. I purchased this one for my husband. Bought the "Forge Grey" which is a good neutral, masculine color. He especially appreciates how easy it travels- weighs little and takes up almost no space in his suitcase. As always, Altrec provides terrific customer service.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: yes it's expensive (but worth it).Write a review for the Patagonia Down Sweater here.
XXL was too small around the waist and lacked a two-way zipper!!
August 20, 2010
Typical quality Patagonia construction and good design. Compared with other XXL products I have bought from Patagonia the down sweater was tight at the waist. It would have worked for me if it had a two-way zipper. I planned to wear it with my fly fishing waders. However, when sitting it simply didn't work for me. Unfortunately I had to return the item and will now immediately go on a diet!!

I have one for myself and bought another one for my boyfriend as a gift. He loves it. It's very light and warm. I wear it for any occasion in the outdoors. I just wash it in a washer with warm water and the shape/color is great after frequent washes. I dry it flat on a laundry rack though. I never dry my Patagonia clothes in a dryer.

Amazing. Lightweight, barely noticeable in feel. Very warm and extremely comfortable. Easy to pack.I'm 5"8", 145-150 lbs, I wear a medium and it easily fits over 2 other medium layers without bulk. I'd buy it again, in fact just bought one for one of my sons.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useDown Sweater Rocks!

Great product. It's warm, waterproof, and light. Can't ask for a better all in one jacket without the bulk. Great fit, finish, and feel. Some days, I am tired of the fleece and this is a great jacket to head out in any weather!
Pros: Great designBest Down Jacket on the Market
January 15, 2011
I wanted a down jacket for winter hiking and camping expeditions. I didn't want a bulky/puffy jacket, but I wanted the warmth of a full 800+ fill down. I tried on several comparable jackets and kept coming back to this one. It's perfect! Warm, lightweight, compact, very high quality...no complaints. I normally wear an XL but a Large fit perfectly in this jacket.
Pros: very warmGreat Patagonia jacket

Super warm, looks great -- get all kinds of compliments. Very packable. I would buy this jacket again and would recommend it to anybody. The jacket is a little pricey as all Patagonia products are, but well worth it.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great valueWarm and super light!

I have been eyeing this jacket for a couple years and finally picked it up. I wish I would have done it much sooner. The medium fits perfect (I'm just under 6' and 175lbs). It's warm and best of all, extremely packable. Just throw it in your backpack or your suitcase and you know you'll be covered if the temperature dips. I like that I can pull it off for work as well.

This down jacket is amazing, It could provide much warm while it's so light on weight. I think it's very suitable for a middle layer. I wear a hardshell jacket outside. I don't fear any cold weather in the winter. Moreover , It has a high quality. I am very satisfied with it.

Best Down Sweater I've Owned
January 18, 2011
This is the third down sweater that I have owned in my life. The first one was a Gerry Down Sweater from the late 70's!!! Then a North Face Sweater. This one is made much better and doesnt leak down through the material. The water repellency is fabulous. I used the live chat feature here (did I tell you how great that feature is?) to inquire about the fit and what size to purchase. They were very helpful. I usually wear a Large but settled on a Medium. I'm 5'10" and 175lbs so consider buying a size down. Again, the best Down Sweater yet!!!!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, great fitLooking Good
January 16, 2011
This is a jacket that covers a wide range of temperatures. It is very light and feels good even around the house. My wife really likes the way it looks and that's the standard that matters. I have a nice leather jacket but this is warmer and much more comfortable. It is standing up to a Wisconsin winter very well.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useGeko Green!
October 16, 2011
Well the price was right, even though this shade of green is not my favorite. The quality is great, it's hard to go wrong with Patagonia. It's a bit big on me, but that is the case for most LG jackets I have purchased. I usually run hot, on the back-country trails, so I see its use around the camp site. It packs quite well.

The jacket is very light, and it is warm. I like it a lot! I don't regret buying it at all.
Pros: Build quality, Ease of useWarm and Comfy
November 21, 2012
Very warm, comfy and stylish. One of the best down sweaters out there. Solid construction. Fit is pretty true. I'm athletic 6'1"" and 175 and usually go large in outerwear, but I was looking for a nice close underlayer type fit so I got the medium. It's maybe a tad short in the arms and torso, but just the fit I wanted. I'm guessing a large would have worked if I wanted to just wear this as a jacket. List price is pretty expensive, but got a great deal on Altrec.
Pros: Ease of use, Cons: CostGreat jacket, but...
December 30, 2010
I have been dreaming about this coat for months but alas it was not a great fit. Love Patagonia but I decided to return and exchange for a slimmer fitting Nitrous jacket from Mountain Hardwear. One downside with the Nitrous jacket is it does not have the ability to stuff into it's own pocket like this jacket does.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Ease of use, Great valueAwesome warmth to weight ratio!
March 10, 2012
I love light and I love warm and this IS BOTH. The cinching at the waist keeps the cold out and makes it even warmer. Hard to believe something this light can be this warm! It is also more wind resistant than I expected. I might have to buy one with a hood, too.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceHard to beat...
December 01, 2010
This is one of my favorite jackets...Light, warm, and a good looker (have last year's in burnt orange). Love that it compresses into it's own pouch as well. Works great as an outerlayer and if you need a shell, works great and doesn't feel bulky underneath. I'm 5' 10" and thin, the medium fits lwell (as does most Patagonia mediums). I also like that the collar is relatively snug , but not too tight around the neck to keep out the cold and falling snow when fully zipped.
Men's down sweater
March 10, 2011
I am a great fan of Patagonia and have been weariing their products for over 10 years. This is the second down sweater that I have. I had the pullover hoodie before they had the jacket and hoodie a few years ago, I found it very warm, comfortable, light and less bulky as the down jacket that I also had. Since I like the down sweater very much and found this sweater on sale with the colour that I like so I bought it. I also have the nano puff sweater, but the down sweater is much warmer and the price difference is not much. I like the fit of the down sweater but not the vest which is trim fit. If I wear the same size, the vest is too tight at the waist, but if I wear one size up, it becomes too loose on the chest. It is one of the best Patagonia that I have.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueAlready own the Patagonia Down Sweater? Tell us your thoughts.
Love It!

My husband LOVES this jacket. He loves that it is lightweight, the feathers don't escape like other down jackets. He likes the color--it's different than all the other blue, black, or red jackets the guys wear. And he's easy to spot. I am looking (or asking for a gift) for one for myself this winter.
Pros: Build quality, PerformanceSizing is a little large
March 04, 2011
I purchased this jacket for backpacking. Liked the internal zipper storage pocket which converts the jacket into a small pillow. I am 6 ft. 200 and originally purchased an XL. This would have been fine, had I wanted to wear it over sweater, etc. I returned it for a Large. Large fits better over shirt/T-shirt.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: CostTotally The Best

This jacket, by far-out performs the other lightweight down jackets out there! It's the warmest, most compactable & best looking one on the market still today. If you don't have one by now, get one! You"ll be happy you did!
