With its classic, flat-front styling that includes slant-entry front pockets and welted button-through back pockets, the Duck Short is also recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program. What could be better.

great comfort
February 10, 2011

i always trust Patagonia. these days some sizing has become an issue. but this pants didn't disappoint me for both size and comfort. I really recommend this pair for both hiking, fishing and daily use. durability is also another positive factor; thus it will surely last long for your outdoor wardrobe.

Good shorts
June 07, 2013

Like the Duck Pants, they don't feel as thick as they used to, and I really dug the old button they used to use. You still won;t find better looking shorts that feel up to any task though - like all Patagonia, good lookg, good quality.

Overall the shorts are a great buy but the 10" inseam feels a bit long for patagonia shorts, may want to buy a size smaller then normal for closer fit.

Pros: Build quality, Great value

Great shorts.
June 25, 2010

These are some of my favorite shorts. I got 3 more pairs as a couple of old pairs were starting to show the abuse they have sustained. As all Patagonia stuff they run pretty true to a bit snug in terms of sizing. For all cyclists you may want to consider going up a size to have appropriate leg room.

perfect
December 19, 2011

I'm 6'0" and 164 and these are awesome. I like a short, length-wise, right by my kneecaps and nice fitting. these fit those two requirements. I just bought another pair in gray.

Pros: Great design, Great value

Favorite shorts I've owned.
May 18, 2010

I got a new pair because my old ones finally wore out.....after owning for 12 years. I still have a pair of the Duck Pants and in great condition after 12 years of use as well. Patagonia shorts are durable, appealing, and very well priced. My only issue is I wish they had more colors.

Husband's Favorite Shorts
May 22, 2011

My husband lives in these shorts. They are of a nice weight and quality. I like them because they can transition from the boat to a night out and still look great!

Nothing fancy, but they're comfortable and tough
July 28, 2010

I've only had these shorts for a few weeks, but they've become my go-to summer wear. The length is right and the fit is comfortable. Sewing details are perfect. The fabric looks Patagonia tough -- I expect these shorts to be around for a long time. I have to agree with another reviewer who noted the limited color choices, but I'm happy with the "wildwood" pair I ended up with.

Solid Pair of Shorts
March 28, 2012

The size 33 fit true to size and they are are very well built pair of shorts. A traditional fit in the legs -not too baggy or slim fitting. I'm 6ft - 175lbs and the shorts come to the top of the knee.

Pros: Great design, Great value

This is the first pair of shorts that I've actually enjoyed wearing in a long time. The fit and length are perfect. They are great for around town or outdoor activities.

Work and Play Shorts!
September 06, 2011

These are great shorts when transitioning from a day at work into an evening of fun as these shorts can be dressed up easily. They're high in comfort and have a looser "relaxed" fit. My husband has been wearing Patagonia for years, although this is his first time trying out the Duck Shorts. I would say he is happy with his new shorts as just this morning he asked me to look into ordering the Duck Pants.
