Fit is athletic. Sleeves and torso are long for a large. I'm 6'3", 185 lbs and the large size fits perfectly. Love the material! It is a little lightweight but still warm in all but the bitterest wind. Love it.

People familiar with Patagonia, even those who work at Patagonia, complain about the company’s sizing inconsistencies. The Men’s Hooded Monk Sweatshirt is no different. What it comes down to is how you expect a sweatshirt to feel, that is, what is comfortable for you. That’s the bottom line. It is, after all, a sweatshirt. To me, that means loose-fitting comfort clothing, and I’m not talking about the baggy “gangsta” look. I’m 6 feet tall and weigh 150 pounds, and both the large and medium “look” fine on me; however, the medium is tight at the shoulders. If it shrank, I’d be out of luck. As with all Patagonia attire, it’s best to try on different sizes prior to purchase.

relaxing hoody for both indoors and outdoors

i purchased this hoody for inner wear but I have noticed this hoody can be a great room wear. I enjoy wearing this sweatshirt inside the house and also wear under outer jacket to go outside. Great hoody for hoody fans. The other one I had bought before looked longer for the length but this one looks perfect. Also sleeve edges seem to be improved. I like the newest one better.

My husband is a very picky man when it comes to a hoodie. This hoodie is exactly what he wanted. The fit is excellent and has a nice stretch. It is comfortable, soft, and the print is great!

This is a nice quality sweatshirt. Does run a little big. My husband usually wears an xl and the xl of this sweatshirt is baggier than the rest, but not too much.

My son thinks this hoody is the coolest and most comfortable hoody ever! I gave him the red hoody with the guitar on it and the logo "Live Simply". This is the perfect hoody for my son who is a musician. It fit him well and washed up nicely with very little schrinkage. It's another great Patagonia product!

This hooded sweatshirt exceeded my expectations. The quality appears top notch (as expected from Patagonia). The seams look like they have extra reinforcement and should hold up well. The material on the inside is very soft and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants a hooded sweatshirt that's light, comfortable, and looks good.

Any time I see a Patagonia Monk hooded sweatshirt on sale anywhere I buy it. They are a perfect weight sweatshirt for me. Not too heavy but still warm enough to help you on a cold day. I love that they are "stretchy" and not stiff. They will shrink a little but not much. Well worth the money spent.

This hoodie by Patagonia is a great product. Warm, comfortable, and stylish. I love the flying fish with a trident design which gets lots of curious questions from people. It turns into a conversation piece. Great color, great design, and it's Patagonia...a great company with an excellent ethic and corporate philosophy! Can't go wrong with this one!

Hooded Monk Makes Me Comfy & Relaxed Like Zen Meditation

I've been searching far and wide for over two years for the perfect pullover hooded sweatshirt to replace my well worn staple. I hate sweatshirts that "cinch" at the bottom, and I have very specific requirements for a hoodie otherwise. The Monk fits the bill 100%. It's got the roomy three-piece hood, strong but not too long hood strings and wide ribbed trim around the bottom and the ends of the sleeves. No "cinch" here. It fits like a dream has quickly become my pullover security blanket. The only beef I have with this hoodie is the picture on the back, depicting a guitar with only one string and the phrase "Live Simply." There was no indication when I bought it online that the hoodie had such a picture on it. But since I don't mind the picture itself, it's not a problem. I just wish I had known about it before I had bought it.

Over the years it seems a large collection of Patagonia clothes have found their way into my closet. This hoody does not disappoint and is typical Patagonia quality. Unlike hoodies made from 100% cotton, the addition of the fleece gives it quite a bit of stretch, durability, and a lightness you don't typically experience in sweatshirts. As for shrinking, I always throw my clothes in the dryer and have not noticed any. As others have commented it is a little baggy, but it is a sweatshirt - not a performance top. All in all, great hoody.

Just another hoodie sweats, except for the stretchy fabric. The fitting is loose and not snug, I got a medium size and it seemed like medium/tall or medium/big. This sweats is cool for cool weather and uncool for cold weather.

Best Hoody Ever. This one is my go to sweatshirt. It's so soft and very comfortable. I got the red, green and blue. Love it. Super comfortable! Yes! Keeps you warm and cozy on a cold fall/spring night. It also has a great range of movement. It moves with you. Another highly recommended, well made Patagonia product. Well worth the price.

Patagonia`s sweatshirt hoodie has got to be the most comfortable garment of this type that I have ever worn. I bought the color Fog with the logo printed on the back. It`s fit is relaxed and the cotton/fleece material is comfortable against the skin. I ordered my normal size.

Medium fit perfectly (6'1", 175lbs). In the past, long-sleeve Patagonia items fit me nice in the torso but the sleeves are too short. They seem to have rectified this.
