Description

Now you see it, now you don't. Just like the sun on blustery days, Patagonia's ultralight, ultrapackable Houdini Full-Zip Jacket can shed fickle weather and then disappear when the skies clear. It's also breathable enough to keep on as you crank through the next squall. The textured triple-ripstop nylon fabric proves surprisingly tough while the Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish wards off flurries six pitches from the deck. The redesigned hood is lower volume and snugs around the face and head three-dimensionally with a new, single-pull system. The Houdini has a drawcord hem and stuffs into its own chest pocket, which now has a secure zipper closure and a burly strong carabiner clip-in loop.

Great ultra light shell
June 10, 2011

This is a great shell when you need to carry a shell, but dont need bomber protection. I carry this on mountain runs when you need to be protected from afternoon thunderstorms. The light weight and compact size fit easily in a small hydration pack or under a bungee on a hip belt. The shell does not breath the best, but it serves it;s purpose.

Tiny Protection
April 09, 2011

This product is truly elegant! It packs wind protection, light rain protection and a little warmth in a tiny package. For four season versatility, without the bulk and weight carry this with you on every-time you leave the house. Also colors are bright...Clementine is a blaze orange color.

Blocks The Wind
March 21, 2011

This is the third Patagonia Houdini that I have purchased. Two are in bright colors because I use them for jogging. But I also take one of these jackets almost everywhere I travel since it weighs only three ounces; it is almost un-noticed until I need it. I am tall, thin and get cold when the wind blows on me. The Houdini blocks the wind and keeps me comfortable. While the bright colors have been fine for mountains, deserts, lakes and oceans, they have been a bit strange for places like Paris, London and New York, so I recently bought a Houdini in blue. I recommend Houdinis to friends and relatives, and am extremely positive about it - - as long as you are not too heavy.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, extreme light weight, extreme breatheability

Patagonia Quality
February 14, 2011

Versatile jacket for a variety of conditions. Very thin, but amazingly compact as a result. My only complaint would be a lack of pockets. There is only a chest pocket. It is the perfect thing to grab when you're not sure what the weather will be today.

Excellent product
July 21, 2009

This is the best layer to have, over or under other clothing. Take it along because it fits into a pocket, and you'll never be cold or wet again. In really cold weather, layer two of these--and you'll still be able to move.

Excellent running or biking jacket
May 21, 2009

This jacket is excellent for running and bike riding. Blocks the wind, sheds a light rain and is super breathable. Fit is excellent for active pursuits and true to size. If it looks like rain I always grab this jacket and stick it in my pocket. It's my favorite and most useful jacket.

Outstanding!
May 17, 2009

This is one of my favorite jackets ever purchased. I've had two in pewter, and they have been my "go to" jacket for all but worst of winter use. Layered under a leather MC jacket, over a T shirt, you name it, this is fantastic. Apprehensive spending $125 for a windbreaker, but this one is worth it, IMO. Wish they still made the pants.
