Men's Micro Puff Hooded Jacket 4.7 5 18 18
Compact versatility A good looking jacket that is easy to store in a backpack when not in use, but warm and light when conditions warrant. The hood feature eliminates the chill factor around the head and neck area which is a big plus. January 23, 2012
adaptably warm, slightly large I really like the feel of the jacket from the moment I put it on. Hasnt been too cold yet, but very warm for when i went outside for 15min minutes (~40F) while not being overly warm indoors (~70F). Perfect warmth in all situations. Unfortunately, I have to trade it for a smaller size, from large to medium. I am 6'2" and 170lbs and found the jacket larger than I was comfortable with, esp. around the stomach area. The hood is very cool. Fits amazing esp with the drawcord around back. October 31, 2011
The hooded Micropuff is one of my all time favorite jackets. I use the jacket to keep warm during breaks backcountry skiing, lite mountaineering, and as my go to for everyday use in the winter. The jacket is warm for its weight and the hood is excellent as it snugs around your face, keeps the heat in with a close fit, but doesn’t feel restrictive. I’ve had it out in freezing rain and blowing snow and the jacket has given solid protection in all of those conditions. I recently used the jacket during a winter 14k peakbagging trip in Colorado. One day the winds were upwards of 50 mph and the jacket did a nice job of keeping me comfortable while stopped, but I can tell I would have been shivering if we stopped for too long. One gripe, the insulation slowly leaks though the fabric. If you look closely, you can often see wisps of insulation dangling through the material. If you are a perfectionist, you might want to look towards the Arcteryx Atom series for better construction quality. March 24, 2011
Great jacket Very comfortable jacket even comes with a compression bag! My only change might be to the zipper seems cheap but I've had no issues whatsoever. All in all I would by this jacket over and over again. March 12, 2011
Very warm and comfy I bought this jacket for my son and he loves it! He needs to wear his jacket in high school the whole day because he doesn't have time to go the locker. His other jackets are too heavy and cumbersome, but this jacket is perfect. It's very warm, comfortable, and he can move freely in it. He can also squeeze it into his backpack. He usually just wears a long-sleeve shirt and a fleece vest, and this jacket can keep him warm in the 20s degree F temperature. But I'm not sure how durable it is. February 11, 2011
Great product, very comfy, would highly recommend it. Perfect fit, true to size, and great wind breaker. Can't feel a thing when you have this on January 17, 2011
Great light packable jacket This is a great ultra light, soft and packable jacket. My one complaint is the fit. I bought it for someone 6'1" tall in a large. When he puts the hood on the jacket pulls up, therefore it needs more length in hood. The sleeve length seems good but the body length is a little short. Patagonia should make a tall version or add more length in body and hood. Good looking gray color. Great for layering because it is such a thin light layer. December 27, 2010
Awesome jacket, I don't fear the cold winter, it has many features: warm , breathable, and comfy. Moreover it looks so cool. most of all, like other Patagonia items, it has a high quality. I like it very much December 20, 2010
favorite coat This coat has it all - excellent warmth to weight ratio, synthetic fill, packability. I regularly use this coat as a mid layer for snowboarding when the temp drops below 25 deg., layering a synthetic base layer underneath and a shell over the micro puff. Hood fits excellent over my helmet. Hood and waist are adjustable (++) and the netting on the inside of the coat holds small items comfortably. Overall, my favorite winter piece and it gets picked up more often than any other coat I own (although my hooded nano-puff is making a run at that). Highly recommended! December 15, 2010
Top Notch Primaloft Puffy I have been very pleased with this jacket so far. The fit is comfortably snug, but with enough room for a r1 fleece and a down sweater vest underneath. I used to have a TNF Redpoint Optimus and I prefer the Micro puff. It is noticeably lighter and the fit is not so baggy. I also like how the "helmet compatible" hood isn't that big at all and is plenty snug with just a hat on. For you UL nerds out there the small weighs 18.1 ounces. December 5, 2010
great alpine climbing jacket I have used this jacket in a number of alpine environments in a range of temperatures. It functions very well as a lighter belay jacket given it's insulated hood, and can be used down to 0F if paired with a few good under layers (the DAS would be better for really cold climbing). While I have bivied in this jacket, I would not recommend doing so if the temperature dips below 25F. The material is not the most durable tending to to snag on granite, and the cuff area seems to wear very fast. Overall, though, it's a good lightweight, extremely packable, and quick drying layer for alpine rock climbing or for slightly warmer big mountain climbing. November 17, 2010
Cool jacket A very nice easy to wear jacket, for many situations outdoors or just around town. A cool simple puffy jacket without being too puffy to move freely and is also easy to wash. Very light weight. Will keep you warm most of the time. I prefer this to a down jacket. November 15, 2010
very nice!! this one is very light, comfortable, durable and super warm. so i used many times when go to walking, hiking and fishing. this one is the best value and high performance in this price. and super fast shipping. i satisfied 100% November 2, 2010
My Favorite Jacket Patagonia has made a perfect weight winter jacket. I do not like most winter jackets because they are often bulky and heavy. I live in Western Washington, so a traditional down (feather) jacket, even a light weight one will not work in this rainy environment. A tightly weaved outer fabric with a DWR finish combined with the quick drying primaloft insulation make this the perfect all-around jacket for my neck of the woods. I have gotten many compliments from my friends and co-workers on its looks alone. This things pack down small and it weighs next to nothing. I will definately be bringing it with me on spring and fall back-country camping trips in the Cascades this year. January 23, 2010
Great service, Quick delivery and Amazing jacket Patagonia makes great gear. This jacket is warm and wind proof. I chose this jacket for its warmth and style. I wore it in the first snowstorm of 2009 in the NE, which turned out to be a blizzard, and it kept me toasty. In bitter cold and extreme winds I'd recomment stepping it up to the Das Parka (which is significantly more money) but for a more economical buy go with the Micro Puff. December 22, 2009
Great order service Specific order for nephew in San Fran. Altrec.com order received within week. Thanks! December 15, 2009
Wow Excellent jacket!!!!does an amazing job with the wind and cold; I recommend this jacket for anyone that is not a fan of winter. Patagonia to the rescue again. December 13, 2009
Perfect Perfect jacket to always have handy in your day pack. The exterior shell does a good job of blocking wind and water, and is very comfortable as well. October 22, 2009
