Very warm and light sweater!!
February 06, 2011

This is our fifth Nano Puff jacket. We have one for my wife and I and three for our kids. They are light and warm, easy to pack. We plan to use on a trip this summer to the Rocky Mountains. Other than some bae layers, we will all use this as our prime jacket. Works great with a wool sweate even with temps around 20-25 F.

Super versatile!
January 19, 2011

I purchased a medium for my 5'8" boyfriend. He's a triathelete so I envisioned him using it after competitions to get warm. The pullover packs so small and is light so there is no excuse not to have it with you at all times. He was a bit sceptical at first but has since changed his mind. He wears it as a midlayer on cold ski days, as a "keep comfortable" in a cold house, as a light layer in early evening....and although he hasn't done it yet I am sure it will accompany him on our spring and summer hikes and to all his athletic events. The grey color is classic and elegant.

The perfect pullover!
January 11, 2011

This is the "perfect" piece of clothing to reach for when you're cold and the temperatures range cool to cold. A T-shirt and this pullover will be plenty at 55-60 (a cool house) and lower depending on activity level. This has really come to be my favorite for everything since it insulates and blocks the wind. In the winter it's a perfect midlayer outdoors and top layer indoors. In the summer for high altitudes there is no excuse for not taking this along for early morning hiking starts and then waiting out those inevitable afternoon thundershowers in the Rockies. It is light enough I take it on every hiking trip as a just in case. I wear a medium and am 5'8", 155 lbs and consider the fit optimum. I liked the pull over so much I recently got a nano puff jacket too!

pullover fits a bit small. I have a micropuff jacket size medium, so I figured that a medium would fit well with this, seeing that they are both "regular fitting" items according to patagonia. The pullover is small in every way in the medium size for me: 5'8'' 165lbs. Ordering a large, and besides the fitting issues, this jacket is superb.

Packable, lightweight warmth
December 29, 2010

Very light yet warm product that's good for either layering in sub-freezing weather or on its own at 30 degrees and above. Silky material makes getting in and out easy. Medium for 5'9" 155 lbs fits comfortably close to body. Great for carrying in the pack on a hike that could turn cold.

A new essential
December 29, 2010

I got this jacket in a XL for Christmas. My wife bought it here at Altrec based on my previous good experience with Altrec. It is awesome!! We all know how important layering is in the winter, so I have replaced my big down jacket with this baby. No more overcooking when you add a shell and a shirt or two underneath. I have already had it on two 15 degree temperature hikes. Fits great, looks great, warms nice, but most importantly, it packs awesome. No more shedding layers and trying to stuff a big puffy in my day pack. Also like that I dont look like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon when I add a shell.

Excellent layering piece
December 27, 2010

If using as a base layer, choose regular size for snugger fit. If planning to layer under this garment, go up one size. It is super lightweight but packs a lot of warmth. Not windproof but layered underneath a shell is perfect for most conditions for wind and warmth.

Great Lightweight Insulation
December 14, 2010

The light weight of the Nano Puff Pullover makes it ideal for trad climbing and backcountry skiing. I recently wore this jacket over a capilene base layer and under a Gore-Tex shell skiing in wet snowfall and it was the perfect amount of insulation. The lack of hand pockets pretty much prevent me from wearing it as a standalone belay jacket.

lightweight down warmth
December 12, 2010

bought one of these for myself, liked it so much I bought one for each of college age kids as well. They hate to wear winter coats, and spend their lives in hooded sweatshirts, so I thought this would be a nice and warmer alternative. Very lightweight, wear it alone or under a jacket. Packs small, great to take along in a backpack or in the car.

December 10, 2010

Very light weight and fairly warm. the only big downside is there are no pockets to put your hands in if you are wearing it as an outer shell. I also think they are pretty pricey for what you get.

Love it!
November 19, 2010

the patagonia nano puff pullover is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces. expected exceptional patagonia quality; cool enough to wear indoors; warm enough to be the main insulating layer for cold weather activities. so far i've worn it around the house, to the office, under my waders/wading jacket fly-fishing for steelhead on damp michigan streams, and under a light shell to football games. my only regret is that all my patagonia, arctyrex and north face fleece aren't finding their way out of the closet! i bought the "fog" color which looks great with jeans and darker technical pants. lots of compliments on the classy color/look.

Great all around jacket!
October 13, 2010

Best quality of the Nano is its light weight design. Packs up into its own pocket and can barely notice it in my pack. Warm and wind resistant, and not too puffy that it would hinder movement. Works well as a mid-layer as well. Best all around jacket I've ever purchased for alpine climbing, bc skiing and just general outdoors adventures where the weather may be a factor. Just wish I'd had one like it long ago!

Great Lightweight Jacket
September 24, 2010

I bought this jacket for cool summer evenings, cold spring and fall days, and a lightweight layer to take camping and ski touring. It excels at this. The Nano Pullover could work well as an insulating mid-layer during the winter. The jacket does feature Patagonia's high-quality construction and materials. The design is simple, straightforward, and functional. I literally have zero complains with this jacket. The outer fabric is lightly water resistant, the insulation is just even to take the chill off, and it's extremely packable.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great value

Great Pullover!
August 25, 2010

I bought this as a gift for my husband and he loves it. It is very warm when zipped up and a good midlayer when the zipper is lowered. It is hard to convince him to wear anything else, now!

Great product paired with super fast shipping.
August 06, 2010

This Patagonia pull-over is a perfect weight jacket and it truly does pack down into a 4x6 inch package.

light weight warmth!
July 21, 2010

I bought this for my husband as we struggled for light weight warmth while backpacking. We are old enough now that every ounce matters!! He loves this pullover and wears it or takes it along everywhere! Our daughter calls it his "sleeping bag" jacket and she loves to wear it even though it is many times too large! This is great worn alone or layered under a shell for wet weather. This is a keeper.

Excellent Down Sweater!
June 16, 2010

This down sweater is perfect. The material and construction is superb and it fits just right. It is very, very warm, extremely lightweight and it packs down tight so it takes up very little space. Stops the wind and repels water so you stay warm and dry. Very impressive! My only suggestion would be to include side pockets because it's so warm you don't really need an outer layer shell which would probably have extra pockets.

I'm in love- with a jacket.
May 26, 2010

I've practically lived in this jacket for the past few months. It's my go-to for cooler weather and is so light that I bring it along just in case, since it packs down really small. People wonder if I'm even warm when wearing it since it's so thin and light, but it works wonders. Even I still marvel.

It's very versatile, easy, and works well for Fall, Winter and Spring!! This jacket is light weight but warm. It feels so good to wear.

I love this jacket
April 21, 2010

I use this jacket all of the time, camping, rafting, and hiking. I also wear it sitting around my house, it is so comfortable. I also love the colors. The jackets sizes run small so be prepared to order a size larger then normal.

Pretty good, just not for me
April 14, 2010

Very warm. It's just that I was expecting hand pockets. Pay attention to the pictures - only one chest pocket, so more for wearing under something if you are planning to put anything in your pockets.

Looks great, Feels great, Packs light

Accurate fit, good construction. Great for cold desert nights and early spring fishing in the BWCA. Packs tightly during warmer afternoons. Much easier to layer/store that my beloved Monkey Fur

Highly recommended, EXTREMELY warm
March 10, 2010

I bought the Nano Puff Pullover based on the many glowing reviews as well as to move to more lighter weight cold weather gear. When it arrived, I was taken aback at how lightweight and thin it was. This surely won't keep me warm, I thought. I thought wrong. This thing packs serious heat retention; the first couple of times wearing it, I did the layers approach (heavy shirt, Nano Puff, heavy jacket) and by the end of the dog walk (45 minutes to an hour), I was really sweating (this was with temps in the 20s (F)). I've since found that a t-shirt under the Nano Puff (and no other jacket) is perfect for weather even down to the low 30s, upper 20s but only if your time outside involves moderate exercise, like brisk walking. And even then, you'll likely find yourself unzipping it a bit. If you are just going to be standing around, you'll likely need another layer over the Nano Puff. The Nano Puff functions like a wet suit--when you first go outside, cold air seeps in, but once your body heat warms it up, it stays around your body where it's needed. The only thing I would change about it is to add more pockets to it; it has a single breast zip pocket, but a couple of hand pockets would make this even better. Now, the temps are getting up into the 40s and 50s and I think I'm approaching the top temp limit for the Nano Puff--I'd say it is too warm to wear when temps approach 60. And while I am looking forward to warmer temps, I'll be sorry to have to put this away for the season.

Perfect jacket
March 08, 2010

I just got back from a 3 week road trip through the western US - camping, hiking. I wore the Nano in many different situations, from mountains to high desert. The coldest temp on the trip was in the 20's and wearing the Nano with a primaloft vest and long sleeved t-shirt I was comfortable. Eastern Sierras was cool and windy but never a problem with this jacket. Even spilled a cup of coffee on it one morning but wiped right off and no staining. Perfect jacket to always have handy in your day pack, besides it's cozy.

Steve Barker

lite, warm, packs small
March 03, 2010

Great by itself when I'm active or under a shell at lower heart rates. The sierra climate (like your neighborhood) is always changing so my nano puff goes with me on day trips, stuffed tight in the bottom of my smallest daypack. It has also provided supprisingly good tail insulation in snow.

Phenomenal Product !
February 27, 2010

Firstly, I am a huge fan of Patagonia products for many years & have to say I am absolutely blown away with the Nano-Puff Pullover. I've been thinking about it for too long now & soooo psyched I finally bought it! I love my Micro Puff Hoody Jacket & just had to try another Patagonia synthetic (as opposed to down). It radiates such a nice, gentle warmth...I can't quite explain it. Much different than a fleece type warmth. It is so light I forget I'm even wearing it. The warmth is not overbearing indoors at all but is magically warm outside. I live in upstate NY & am an avid sportsman & particularly enjoy the winter pursuits. Believe me, I know cold & this is a must have as a shell or quite possibly the best mid-layering piece on the planet. It's warmth, wind, & water repellency make it ridiculously functional. It is crazy comfortable & very cool looking. Buy it now, don't even think about it. I wear a Large in Patagonia always & the Large fits me perfectly. I am 5'10" 195lbs. TRUST ME, this is a must have for any Gear-Head or anyone who wants a cool looking, incredibly functional & comfortable piece. I have to buy another one I just realized while writing this review... economy & less money this year be damned, I'll never regret having another one of these!

nice
February 24, 2010

Nice and light. Mango color is fairly loud and reminds me of a creamsicle- not a problem as I like orange. Chest pocket good for a smartphone. arms a little long for me but my fault for eating too much to fit into a medium. If your waist is proportionate to your height, this should not be a problem.

excellent pullover!
February 24, 2010

Super light yet warm and versatile to use from running to raking leaves in the yard. Fit is trimmer w/less insulation than the previous micro puff pullover which I use in more colder activities like downhill skiing. This pullover is excellent for x-country skiing and glide over and under other layers. Price is worth the value.

Perfect Jacket
January 28, 2010

It's light, it's compressible, it's warm, it's windproof, and it's surprisingly water resistant. All in all, this pullover packs a mean punch in a small package. Buy it!

great for the weight!
December 23, 2009

I bought the Nano just in time. I live out in the Mojave Desert and we just experienced another cold windy storm. The Nano kept the low 30's temp and 40 mph winds out just perfect. Made the late afternoon and evening temps unnoticable! Great piece of clothing for all around outdoor activites! I can't wait to use it for our early morning runs with temps commonly in the high 20's to low 30's with the cold frost still in the air and on the ground!

Excellence In Style
December 15, 2009

Love the light weight pull-over. Warmth without the bulk is a key component of this garment. While the exterior may not have the highest durability for it's shell, it is perfect for city living, city style, and city warmth. I wear a large in most shirts, however I found the XL to be a better size for layering purposes.

Delightful product
December 13, 2009

So much insulation for so little weight - I underestimated its functionality and broke a sweat while cutting down a tree and chopping it up - plus it pulls easily over anything else and anything else fits neatly under it.

Patagonia has done it again with the Nano Puff. She's light and warm, and it can serve as your outer shell in cool temps or as a mid-layer when it's really frigid outdoors. I love buying from a company as environmentally-sensitive as Patagonia, and this pullover is a great addition to the outdoor enthusiast's wardrobe!

Great Product

It is incredibly warm given it's weight and feels amazing on. The exterior shell does a good job of blocking wind and water, and is very comfortable as well.
