great cool, wet weather jacket
April 26, 2012

I used this jacket on a climbing trip to the Lofoten Islands in Arctic Norway last summer. It packs down well and weighs less than a nano puff + waterproof rain shell. Just have to be a bit careful to not scrape it up too much, as the shell material is not very robust! The fit is nice for climbers who don't want a lot of baggy material coming out around the harness- I layered it over an R1 fleece pullover- great combo!

Perfect Northern California Jacket
February 12, 2012

This kept me warm and definitely dry while snowboarding in low 40 deg F drizzly weather on the west shore of Lake Tahoe with nothing more than a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. For anything reasonably below that, I'd throw on a down pullover and expect to be fine. Not bulky at all. I imagine this will be the jacket I grab for most often due to it's lightness. I'm 5'8 and 155 and the medium fits well with room for a thin down pullover underneath. The hood is a bit weird without a helmet (too big). And with a helmet I found it slightly restricting. Not a big deal for me as I don't wear a hood very frequently.

Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great value, light

Nice fit

Really well-fitting jacket, and surprisingly light. Will say, though, the Clementine is VERY orange. Great product and really good price for a Patagonia especially, you'll just need to find a color that works for you.

Lightweight and warm!
June 05, 2011

I purchased this jacket as a gift for my husband and he loves it! I purchased it as a ski jacket, but since I bought it in May, it has only been used for backpacking in the Rocky Mtns so far (30-45 deg. F at night). It's very compact and amazingly warm for the thickness. My husband finds it very comfortable and moveable due to the lightweight, high quality construction. He's 5'8" and about 150 lbs and a size M fit him perfectly.

Great jacket. Seams and construction are of high quality. Blocks the wind well and the shell has kept me dry in heavy rain. The insulation is light, but good warmth to weight ratio and has room to be layered under. The sleeves have good mobility and I like the cinch cord on the bottom of the coat. The cut is stylish, it served me well for winter on the east coast. Only gripe is the hood is a bit frumpy and awkward, as it is made to fit over a helmet.

Nice jacket, but runs small
February 26, 2011

This jacket is really nice. Its super light, way lighter than any of the jackets I've compared it with. Its pretty surprising how it maintains its warmth. I don't think it is as warm as a down jacket, but the space saved with Nano Puff is worth it. The lines are really great and it looks just like a regular windbreaker, yet is fully insulated. The hood is really nice and insulated. I would say that this runs a little small. It is a snug fit, so I would recommend one size larger. I also wish that the cuffs had inner cuffs with thumb holes, a feature I've seen on other jackets. Also, if the zipper were 'heavier' and could be covered by a flap with buttons or fasteners. Overall its a great jacket, I just feel that its a little small. A few more features would be nice, but you just can't beat the lightweight and low profile.

Nano Storm Jacket
January 24, 2011

I am 5'10", 200lbs and the Large fits perfectly. It has been very cold in Connecticut and I am able to wear a Arcteryx Hercules as a mid layer under the jacket. Blocks wind and is very waterproof. When I received it I did not think that it would be very warm. Completely surprised me by its warmth. Excellent jacket.

Love it
January 12, 2011

I bought this jacket as a new around town jacket but also to be used for a ski trip. Just got back from the ski trip and it worked great. The medium was juts bog enough to be comfortable with all my layers on for the slopes but fits comfortably with a shirt or sweater. I am 5'8, 165 lbs and the medium fits just right. I would have liked it a little longer but the arms fit perfect for my short arms so I will take it. The insulated hood was fantastic on the windy, snowy slopes of Breckenridge. And the insulated pockets are great as well. Don't know how I lived without them before! The fabric feels great and is nice and soft. Totally recommend it.

great all around winter jacket
December 16, 2010

Only had the jacket a week, but it performed great in the last snow shower. Thin, not bulky and well insulated. I was comfortable for several hours wearing only a t-shirt under it with jeans. It is extremely waterproof too. Got a Large and I'm 6' 2" and 205lbs. The XL would've been too bulky and the L is a little on the short side but a much better overall fit. First thing I did when I got it home was put it on and run the sleeve under the water in the kitchen sink and it was completely sealed and dry as a bone. Still have the whole winter to wear and enjoy it and I'm looking forward to many years of use in the future. Another great product from Patagonia.

"I have been waiting for a jacket like this for over six years: waterproof shell, light weight, and insulated. Once again Patagonia has exceed my expectations with the Nano Storm. The design is comfortable, practical, and user friendly. The materials are outstanding. The Nano insulation is warm without being bulky. This is my "Go To" jacket for everyday life be it travel, going to a game, or walking in a local state park."

Nano Storm = awesome
November 17, 2010

Very light feeling jacket. I'm 5'10 & 205lbs, and the Large is a little loose, but I can't imagine the medium being comfortable on me. Especially if I were to wear a sweater or sweatshirt; if I wear those under this, I've still got a lot of room and freedom. With a long-sleeve T-shirt I'm comfortable down into the low 30s. Looks good. Aside from being 100% waterproof (worn it in 40* rain), it's also windproof. . .so even on those cold days with strong winds, I was still super comfortable. Love the jacket. It's the perfect jacket for the days you're not wearing a parka.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Cons: water tight zippers can't be done one-handed.

This is a great jacket, it's light but keeps you warm. We live on an island and it's perfect for cooler nights. I bought this for my husband who loves to wear jackets anywhere and this is great for him.
