I have had these pants for past year and have some feedback for those considering this vendors pants. Having priced other pants, my initial goal was to purchase something that I could afford and not feel like I compromised the qualty. For the price point they have met my expectation for both function and fit. I realize that many items that bear the waterproof/water resistant have a shelf life and dependent upon numbers of washings, wear and tear and to what extent you contribute to overall usage. Given the frequency these were worn in both Winter and Summer climates they have held up remarkably. My only one aesthetic somewhat obsessive thought is they dont exactly fit like designer article of clothing but they fit well enough to still feel good in. I say that because overall appearance was at the top of list with ability to shed water. In summation, I would recommend for those on a budget and looking to get a return on their choice. Thanks. Joe

Almost perfect except size
April 19, 2012

I am pretty satisfied with Patagonia's rain gears. I had purchased black color before I got new color in tan. Before I received it, I only wished the pants were a bit larger or loose. However, it didn't turn out for my hope but still look good and functional. Although my most tops are torrentshell except one rain shadow, I do not go with torrentshell pants as they do not have entire zippers from the top to the bottom which is the most convenient feature of Rain Shadow Pants. All I have to do is maybe not to complain about size and to lose.

Great Rain Pants

Good quality and fit true to size. Really like the full zippers on the legs - That is why I purchased these instead of the Torrent rain pants. Pants easily fold so I can pack these and my rain jacket in my back pack and have them with me at all times.

Fully detachable side-zippers so you can remove and put on the shell with plastic boots and crampons. Size appropriate. Light-weight. I'm taking these to Everest this year.
