Fits small
Seems ok. Light weight and fit small. I usually where a 34 and had to return for a 35. Haven't received the 35s yet. Crossing my fingers. Otherwise they seem nice.

great pants
to prevent items from falling out. They stretch a little, which I like. They are water resistant, but cool in hot summers. Nowadays, I rarely check in any luggage when I fly. They use little room to pack in a backpack, which I love for traveling. When you get them, wash them immediately in hot water, and the swishing sound made by the nylon will decrease, and they will be softer. These slacks are very sturdy, having been made for rock climbing. I used to love my Ex Officio slacks the most, but these are better.

Great Travel/ Trekking Pants
The Rock Guide Pant from Patagonia has to be one of my favorite purchases this year. It's a very comfortable pant with a great cut hence a great fit - It's not baggy or too tight. I used it primarily as a travel pant and it was great for a 12 hour plane ride as well as some light hiking. The DWR protection works for light precipitation.

Great Pants
These are great everyday pants. I bought them for my husband who uses them for rafting, rock climbing, or going out to dinner. Comfortable and light weight

So comfy pants, it's absolutely worth with its price. At first , it's so lightweight and quick dry that it's very suitable for summer. Secondly, it has a super high quality, same with other Patagonia items. At last, it stretches easily and I feel very comfy with it, I am satisfied with it very much. Thanks Altrec.com

Excellent summer rock climbing pants
I bought these rock climbing pants for a number of reasons: I wanted a pair of lightweight pants that would be useful to me for hiking, climbing and travel in mostly warm-weather conditions. The Patagonia Men's Rock Guides fit the bill perfectly. They are extremely lightweight, and have 4% of stretch fabric built in for comfort while on the rock. This doesn't make it a 'stretchy' pant as such, it simply gives ample flexibility to move around easily while doing some hard stemming routes - or even while walking up stairs! Whatever you do, these pants will not constrain you. The lightweight fabric means the pants dry quickly and don't get in the way; this is excellent for hiking. However, it also means that it won't be as abrasion resistant as thicker pants out there. One of the main reasons this pant initially caught my eye is the extremely high UPF 40+ protection. The protection from harmful UV rays was one of my criteria for an all-around pant, and these pants certainly provide just that. Finally, while there are 2 hand pockets; 1 right cargo pocket and 1 rear pocket, it would've been nice if they were slightly bigger and/or were NOT made of mesh as they don't feel too strong.

Great Pant
Very soft and quick drying and with functional pockets. The material stretches with you. I'm 6'2" and 175 lbs, and I ordered both the 33 and 34 waist. I've sent back the 33 because those were a little too tight around the legs. Not too baggy and not too tight. If you have concern about the leg length (it only comes in R length), Patagonia has designed the inseam to be lengthened by a tailor.

Light, flexable & good looking
These pants roll up to a smaller size than a rolled dish towel, they are the lightest pants I have ever worn. They breathe just fine, and flex where and when you need it so that you are not wearing high-waters when doing anything other than standing. These pants are extremely comfortable, durable, and sharp looking. The construction quality is amazing, because something so light seems like it would be fragile, but these pants have yet to tear or even wear on me and i wear them all the time

Great all around outdoor pants
These are excellent pants for hiking, traveling and other outdoor activities. Extremely comfortable, the semi stretchy material provides excellent freedom of movement, even when scrambling up a steep trail. Event though they are lightweight and breathable, they are also durable, mine have survived a few scrapes with barley a scratch. The wider legs at the bottom make rolling them up for a stream crossing or a hot day a breeze. Pants don't wrinkle and dry very fast making them great for traveling as well. While they are treated with Patagonia's DWR, they are only mildly water resistant, enough to keep dew off, but not anything more than a drizzle.

Favorite climbing pants
The Men's Rock Guide Pants by Patagonia are made from a lightweight 4.5-oz stretch-woven nylon and spandex fabric; with 40-UPF sun protection. First and foremost, these lightweight, soft, stretch-woven nylon pants with 2-way stretch serve a primary purpose: climbing.

Favorite Pants
Since I got these pants recently, they have become my favorite pair of pants. I bought them because of the stretch-ability of the pants. The quality is top notch and the comfort is unbelievable. I have purchased hiking pants in the past that have been tight and restrictive but were supposedly my size...I have had no such problems with these pants. I highly recommend them if you're looking for a do it all hiking pant.

My favorite pants
Sized in a standard inseam, so I had to have them altered ... but once I got them with the proper fit these have become my favorite pants. I wear them climbing, as well as around town.

Comfort, technical performance, everyday wear
I bought these in grey for warm-weather hiking and climbing, but they have turned into every day wear pants due to their comfort and casual good looks. Pockets are in all the right places and are useful sizes, and zipper pulls are quiet. Fit seems true to size. While the legs are quite stretchy, there is no stretch in the waist, so plan accordingly. The model photos suggest that the lower legs are fairly baggy, but mine feel/look straight-leg in use.
Similar technical/travel pants from other brands have gotten "bagged out" after repeated wearing/washing, or hold wrinkles after being packed. The Simple Guide pants don't seem to suffer from either problem, and in the grey color can easily last through five days of hiking and come out looking new and clean.
Minor bad: the fabric rustles. To me, this is more than made up for by the stretch, fit, and durability.
I like them so much, I bought another pair.

I love these pants.
The fit of the waist and the length are just perfect. The fabric is stretchy and smooth, the quality is extremely high.
My ONLY concern about the khaki color is stain resistance. I plan to use these pants for a combination of travel and climbing. They are easily nice enough to wear to dinner or the bar, and feel very durable.

Best value hiking pants
I love these pants. They are a mix between a traditional hiking pant and a softshell pant! The fit is athletic (slightly slim) but the material stretches with your every move so you don't feel restricted at all! They wear like iron and I feel that they will last a very long time! These are a must own pant that you would want to take on camping trips and trips around the world on planes!! Highly recommend them to all and they might be the last pair of pants you ever need!

Great climbing pant; fits a little snug around the waist. Light-weight fabric. Nice design.

Light and Comfy
These pants are extremely light, comfy, and provide tons of range of motion for hiking. For guys who are a little larger in the butt and thigh area, they may be on the tight side.

As advertised
Love the pants I bought. They breathe really well and do not snag when climbing. Will be buying another pair real soon.

Seems good
I haven't used these much yet but they are pretty lightweight and do repel water nicely. They are a little clingy but that is to be expected I guess. Overall, they do what they say and seem to be well made

nice pants
These are a fine addition to the guide line...a refinement of the simple guides.
