AC Shirts are the Bee's Knees
September 28, 2008
These shirts are the best all round summer shirt I have ever worn. They are virtually transparent to cooling breezes. They hold up well throughout the day and are cooler and look much better than a tee or polo. I wear them constantly in the summer and prize them for my bike commute to my law office where I often wear them throughout the day. They are the bee's knees. I highly recommend them.

Great shir!t
August 22, 2011
Love this shirt. It is cotton and breathes. Bought two in different colors as it was a favorite. Fits true to size. The quality is excellent and it can be worn casually to work or for sports.

Very cool summer shirt.
May 20, 2010
Perfect for humid weather. I could do without the Patagonia label on the front pocket and would like the shirt length to be one or two inches shorter, but other than that these are very cool shirts!
One's not enough
June 19, 2009
What a great shirt! It's soft to the touch, needs no ironing, and will keep you cool throughout the day. Order your current size because shrinkage is minimal if any. It fits a little longer than previous AC Shirts. You'll start a collection with this shirt.
Great company, great products
June 29, 2009
The A/C shirt is very nice looking, breathable & lightweight. I got the grey green and it's very well made. I love Patagonia products for their quality, appearance, attention to detail, and sustainable materials. I have a lot of respect for Patagonia's ethical stance.
Still has fit issues
March 18, 2011
Love the fabric - coolest shirt in hot weather. Patagonia changed the fit to fitted, even though they call it regular. If you normally wear a large, you will have to go up one size or it will hug your chest too tightly. The larger size results in a shirt that is too long to wear untucked. It looks ridiculous hanging to the bottom of your seat. Patagonia has received a lot of complaints but still hasn't addressed this. Word of warning - try these shirts on first.
A/C Shirt
April 06, 2011
Good for hot, humid weather the A/C shirt is made of light-weight cotton fabric that breathes. The shirt is stylish with a handy pocket that allows you to carry a notebook or IPOD or a minimal amount of stuff so that you don't look like you are an adventurist.
Pros: Build qualityWrite a review for the Patagonia Short Sleeve A/C Shirt here.
best summer shirt I've ever got
May 16, 2011
I had to buy these shirts to shun the upcoming scorching summer. I usually wear polo for work, but I wanted some button shirts for a change. Most of short sleeve shirts on the market are either too heavy or too think to comfortably wear. I also love the design. I can wear them for both office and on holiday Therefore, they appear very versatile. As they pack into much smaller size than polo, they can fit in small trip too. One concern is that I may have to buy Capilene shirts for underwear so that I can make the best cooling summer layering system. But that combination will be a bit too much for my budget.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityoutstanding summer shirt
March 25, 2010
Stylish and comfortable, you can't have enough of these for enjoying the dog days of summer. The collar is not too floppy. The material is perfectly comfortable and casual. It stays comfortable when sitting in grandma's overly-air-conditioned interior (great for layering) and when out sweating in the sun. Patagonia scores another victory!
Nice shirt
June 19, 2011
This is another very nice product from Patagonia. The medium fits me well. I'm 5'11" and about 160. The cotton weave drapes well. The only reason I gave it four stars is that I didn't like the color I ordered. I'm simply returning the one I have for one in a different color.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityGreat Summer Shirt
June 23, 2011
Excellent choice for those who run hot. Very breathable fabric, excellent for keeping one as cool as possible in hot weather, and Patagonia durable! Great looking designs, and even the darker colors are extremely cool compared to other shirts. Can feel the slightest of breezes all around your core while wearing this shirt.
Favorite Summer Shirt
April 05, 2010
Perfect for hot weather use...hanging out or as casual office wear. Fit is a little slimmer than a couple years ago....kind of inbetween Patagonia's "regular" and "slim fit." Highly recommended.
Great Shirt
June 03, 2011
The shirt is probably the best shirt I have owned. If you go without an undershirt it's almost like wearing no shirt at all. The quality is outstanding and I now own something like 4 or 5 of them. I spend a lot of time in the gym so the L fits me well. ( I am 5'9 / 185 ). Patagonia makes a long sleeve that is also great.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Cons: CostA/C says it all
June 25, 2011
Another great shirt from Patagonia! The material used is very comfortable and cool now that we are hitting the triple digits. The buttons are durable & stylish. Large fits my 195lb 5'10" frame 42"c perfect. Got 2 colors!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, PerformanceSeptember 19, 2011
This is a great shirt for those sunny hot days. This shirt has become my favourite one to wear all the time as it's fabric is so comfortable on the skin. Will most likely purchase another one in a different colour.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useAlready own the Patagonia Short Sleeve A/C Shirt? Tell us your thoughts.
great shirt-check the fit
March 27, 2011
the fabric is sweet. almost kind of a 'dobby seersucker'. it should be great in the hot summer. that will come later as its snowing right now. the fit is pretty trim. i'm 5' 10" 165, 40" chest and 'medium' is correct-but barely. it is a good looking shirt
Pros: Build qualityNew go to work shirt
September 25, 2011
This shirt is a life saver out here in the tropics. Light weight and extremely quick drying after the quick storms that eveyone gets caught in. Fit is right on. If you are looking for a fitted shirt, either size down or look for someting else. I'm 6'0" and 205lbs and it has the perfect fit for me.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformanceGreat shirt.
August 29, 2010
Great shirt. Have 2 others. Would recommend to anyone needing a shirt for hot/humid weather.
The Shirt to have in HOT HUMID places!
July 06, 2009
These shirts are wonderful! Down here in South Alabama we have to change shirts twice a day because of our humidity. Not with this shirt! I can wear them for two-three days w/out changing. This shirt will not hold odors, it breathes so well, in the event we do get a breeze it really feels like Air Conditioning! I highly recommend this shirt. It fits true to size, casual yet sporty. You can depend on Patagonia for durability!
Strange Texture but Very Cool
July 31, 2009
This is my first A/C shirt. After a couple weeks of wear in 85+ degree weather I'm confident it will keep you cool too. The texture of the fabric is a little strange, not the smooth cotton I had envisioned. Finally, a note on the fit. It qualifies as a "trimmed-down silhouette" not a regular fit. It's cut long but not wide. Smoother texture, shorter cut (I ordered a medium and it's probably a 40 long) and it gets 5*. Fit and texture not withstanding, it's the first shirt I reach for on a hot day.
great summer shirt
July 02, 2011
Bought this a couple months back, and could not be happier. It's super comfy, super lightweight, super buy. I constantly get compliments on it as well.
Pros: Build quality, Lasts foreverTerrific Hot Weather Shirts
July 16, 2011
I own three of these shirts now and they are all really top quality. Durable, breathable, and great colors/patterns. They fit nicely, not too baggy or tight, and have a timeless style. Also, these shirts are perfect for those steaming hot summer days when the humidity is high and you want a shirt that keeps you as cool as you can be.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of useGreat shirt!
July 06, 2009
This shirt is super lightweight and is extremely comfortable. I wear it everywhere! If you are looking for soft threads, this is it!
Wonderful Shirt
April 04, 2013
This shirt is very breathable. Great for warm weather. It's not so long that larger sizes hang down to your knees.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: CostGreat shirt for summer or tropical climes!
April 12, 2010
Breathable, light, high-quality fabric and classic Patagonia style. I love this shirt - bought it in 3 colors.

If you're hot, wear this
October 15, 2010
If you live in or travel to hot and humid places, you need this shirt. It is lightweight and breathes, but it still looks good at the end of the day.
Pros: Great design, Performancehot and humid... bring it on....
September 30, 2009
I now own 4 of these: comfortable all the time, awesome on our trips to Central America, easy care, and super light. Homerun in the heat.
September 21, 2012
Like all Patagonia products, I have found great satisfaction in this as well. The shirt is airy, comfortable, and attractive. I find it matches well with other items in my wardrobe. I am fifty years old, and even my twenty year old daughter thinks that I look hip and cool in it!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useImproved fabric
May 19, 2009
These shirts have a better fit and fabric than the previous A/C shirts. I love the white and can wear it right out of the dryer. I'm ordering more. Excellent fabric.
Great for the heat and casual days in the city or the field
July 11, 2010
This shirt, like all Patagonia gear is spot on in quality and comfort. The patterns are nice and look good enough to wear out on the town yet the functionality of the cut and fabric make it the perfect shirt to have on a camping trip in the hottest of weather. I will be buying more of these for sure!!
Beyond Comfortable!
August 04, 2011
Very simple review: this is hands down the most comfortable button up shirt I've ever worn. Period. Rather than buying 1 Tommy Bahama shirt, buy 3 or 4 of these! Patagonia-awesome! One quibble: The Cottonwood/Storm color is a little heavy on the "Double Happiness" vibe, so be careful unless you like wearing brightly colored clothing...all other colors are amazing; I've got 4 of these
Patagonia AC shirt
August 14, 2010
These are great looking shirts, for hot summer days. They are soft and comfortable, the sizing is true to fit. I'm looking forward to wearing them in the south pacific islands this fall
Great shirt for hot summers
July 27, 2011
I have been buying there shirts for many years now. They come in a great variety of colors and all perform very well. The fabric is airy but not see-through. They dry quickly after becoming moist/wet. Only problem I have ever had with these shirts is if you use a dryer for drying, the placket either on the button or hole side down the front of the shirt will fold in on itself and not look so good or need ironing. I just hang them to dry and make sure the placket is straight. Once it is nearly dry I throw it in the dryer and it comes out fine. This is my ONLY complaint about these shirts..
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Cons: Cost, wrinlked placket when using dryerCool, comfortable, wash 'n wear
July 29, 2011
I have three of these and love them. I'm 5' 11" 160lbs and the medium fits perfectly. Cold wash, hot dryer shrunk them a tiny bit. Still fit just right.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueGreat shirts
June 19, 2011
A/C shirts are perfect for summer. Feel every breeze and do not stick to skin like regular cotton shirts do. Wash easily, no iron. Have 5 of these shirts now!

Great Shirt
March 14, 2010
I just ordered my first A/C shirt and have not been disappointed. It fits very well, the fabric is soft and comfortable, and the shirt does not seem to wrinkle easily so I can wear it right out of the dryer or out of the suit case without having to iron it. I plan on purchasing more.
The hot and humid shirt to have...
August 11, 2009
This shirt looks and feels good in all types of warm weather, but you'll really appreciate it in hot and humid weather. You can pack light with one of these... this shirt lasted a week on the Big Island.
Great shirt, but 2010 sizing is an issue
November 06, 2010
I love these shirts, but the 2010 model is sized a bit differently. I purchase a Patagonia shirts in small or medium, but in 2010 the A C shirt in small was very narrow, tight in the chest and too long. I swapped for a medium which fit well in the chest and arms but is still longer than I prefer. I am 5'9" and 140lbs. All of that being said, I'm a huge fan of the durability, and versatility of this shirt throughout the summer months and when traveling to warm climates.
