A superior summer shirt
April 23, 2012

I purchased one of these a few years ago, and another recently because I ended up wearing it so frequently. It's a perfect shirt for any water-related activities, since the material dries quickly and breathes well in humid conditions. The fit seems a bit better in the new version (slightly tighter in the torso), which is helpful when it gets soaked and hangs on you. It is essential gear for travel mainly because you can stuff this in a bag and it almost never wrinkles. The snap buttons are a definite plus as well, allowing for quick removal. Overall, a must-have summer shirt particularly if you spend time in, on or around the water.

Pros: Lasts forever, Performance

Comfortable and stylish
August 16, 2011

The El Ray shirt fits well, is comfortable and looks great. It comes across as a stylish, casual shirt -- not an obvious tech shirt. It keeps me cool in hot weather and I like the metal snap buttons. A minor quibble: it does not hide sweat stains. But the fabric dries very, very quickly and has 40 UPF sun protection. I'll definitely try other Patagonia shirts.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, dries quickly
Cons: doesn't hide wet stains
Comfort: 5 / 5
Durability: 4 / 5

For muscular
June 27, 2011

When you're in the backcountry, this shirt offers you to be fine without being sticky with sweat. Loosely-fitted style is much for muscular. I will recommend it to a favorite shirt by all means.

Great wearing shirt!
May 24, 2011

I got this as a summer shirt for my husband and was really glad to see Patagonia slimed the fit down. Instead of a bulkier fit in the torso it is slimmer. Perfect for tall guys! Also the material is top notch and the green plaid is very attractive. He's already worn this shirt back country skiing and to dinner.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance
Cons: Cost

decent shirt
September 13, 2010

This is a nice lightweight shirt and doesn't wrinkle too much. I really like the slimmer cut of the shirt as well. My only complaints are that the pockets seem a little too big and the acorn color isn't as dark as the picture above. If I didn't own the Patagonia Fezzman shirt, I'd give this one a higher rating.

Great Summer Shirt

Stylish and lightweight. Looks good worn out of the pants or tucked in. Patagonia men's sizes are true for me. I went for the Vamoose Fusion Sunset and love the color.
