terrific design, style, and warmth

I bought this in the alpha green as a gift for my pa and it was so nice I bought one for myself. I used it for a few days for winter snowshoeing and found the core-warmth very helpful. the fabrics and materials live up to legendary patagonia quality. in terms of features for mixed use (built well enough outdoor exploration and also stylish and versatile enough for city use), the vest is designed better than any other vest I could find on the market. some very unique design features that improve usability: the pockets are double-sided (two openings for each pocket), which means you have the top access with a snap (for slingshot or gloves, etc) and also side access (to keep slingshot-ready hands harm). the collar is extra tall, which means more warmth around the neck. the snap openings on the front allow more options for warmth and air flow regulation. the vest is so stylish that numerous folks stopped to tell my pa and me how great it looked. gotta love those western-style fabric cuts! a terrific vest that will be well-loved and used for many years.

Practical and Stylish

The vest was really soft and comfortable to wear. But the vest itself was much larger that I thought it would be. If you are going to buy this vest get it on size smaller than your actual size. So, if you wear a medium, try to get a small for a better fit!

Great vest, wish it were "slim fit"

This is a very warm, very nice vest. Note it is "Regular Fit," which includes more fabric than I personally prefer, but not excessively so. Seems perfect for everyday urban wear, day hikes, maybe more. The pockets are great - top-flap for things you need to keep in, side-entry hand-warmers, and an inside zippered one for the most important things. Received several compliments first couple of days of wearing it around town.

Very light

this item is extremely light. this vest is the warmest in the vests which i purchased so far... and my favorite point is, there are handwarm pockets. it has also normal pockets. i mean, under normal pockets, there are handwarm pockets. very good one.

I love the look of this vest and it is really warm. The sizing may be a little small, so anticipate for that. All-in-all I am very happy with this vest!

Better than NF Nuptse!

I bought this vest to replace an old 1st Gen NF Nuptse vest that I loved but finally wore out. I must say, the fit is a little small but I like not having the bulk of the NF. Quality is typical top shelf Patagonia. Bought it in the Khaki color - several compliments. Even with the snug fit I don't think I would by an XL. I hope this lasts as long as my NF.

The slingshot down vest is more of a "stylish" vest than a technical one, and because of that it is less suited for the backcountry. But, it is warm and well constructed, and works well for simply hanging around town in late fall/early winter. And it's Patagonia, so it won't disappoint!

Excellent Style and Warmth

This product is everything I wanted it to be. I bought it for my brother for Christmas and he absolutely loves it. He lives in Seattle, WA and loves the versatility that it has added to his wardrobe. It has a great look, but it's subtle. Pockets on the front are clutch.

Very light, I bring it canoeing with me in a dry sack for core temp. in case of the worst. The material seems to be solid, and can take just about anything. The vintage design is very cool. Great buy if you are looking for a warm vest, as the 650 fill down does the job.

Patagonia Slingshot Vest

I purchased this vest a few months ago and couldn't be happier. If you're familiar with Patagonia sizing, it fits pretty standard. Most of their jackets run a little big. I'm 6'1" 220lbs and the Large fits me perfect. It is a very warm vest for how lightweight it is. It is easily compressed and fits into a pouch that is included with purchase. This is a great layering or stylish outer piece when you just need a little extra warmth for your core. The only thing I would mention is since it is down, I get feathers that poke out once in a while. Hope this helps.
