Best Overall Purchase
February 01, 2013
I recently bought this for my husband who loves the outdoors. He is constantly out hiking, backpacking, and loves to go ski. He wanted a lightweight jacket that would still be warm enough in cold weather without adding bulk. He has worn it on its own and as a layer on very cold days out in the snow. He highly recommends it especially for travel when weight and size matter. He owns other jackets but since I purchased this one he has not stopped wearing it. It is now his favorite jacket.

biker warmth
January 18, 2012
Bought this jacket for motorcycle riding. I needed something warm, tight and very easy to pack when space is at a premium. I know that down does not keep warm when wet, but primaloft was to bulky for fitting under my leather jacket. I ride and only carry what I can fit in my saddlebags and this jacket is the definition of ideal. Extremely light, warm and tight fitting. I wore this during the day under my leather jacket- in desert cold conditions and once in desert night conditions. It was very cold and of course windy - as it would be if your riding a motorcycle. I was warm and comfortable. Nothing bullky and loose. This is now a standard article of clothing for my motorcylcing fun. In the cold, (day or night), but not for rainy conditions, which is fine because I can easily pack it away and place my raingear on.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: CostBest light down

This jacket is very light and warm. Wearing clothes one over another is easy because it is slim fitting. The hood is smallish and is not disturbed when I do not cover either. In addition, this fits a face and is very warm when I cover.
Best for travel

I bought this jacket for my boy friend. Size is very true. He liked everything about it except the color is bit shiny for him. It is very very small when you pack it inside of it's back which come w. this order. I can say it's best for travel when you have to travel light. Good layer jacket. Very comfortable.

Extremely Lightweight Protection!

This has to be my favorite piece right now. At only 8 oz. you can't even tell it's in your pack. It works just as well as an outer layer on a cool 50 degree day over a t-shirt as it does an insulating layer under a shell on a cold blustery winter day. Extremely versatile and hardly noticeable. The fit is trim and there is no extra room in it which I like, very streamlined. No too long but the XL is long enough to hit my hips and I'm 6'3". For someone who hangs out in the UL community and counts in ounces instead of pounds this is the jacket for you!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Cons: CostA Nice Lightweight Piece....

This is an early review, since I have not had an opportunity to wear this jacket extensively. Initial thoughts: - Slim fit....keep this in mind when ordering online - Works great as a mid-layer or as a lightweight jacket in more moderate conditions. Nice temperature range, even when it begins to heat up. - I like the chest pocket....great for phone/camera - I bought the Deep Sea color....very nice, kind a a mix between navy and Patagonia's old "Bluegrass" color. I look forward to wearing this....I might have to pick up one for my wife!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Cons: CostDeep Space Is Out Of This World!

I was debating between this jacket and the Nano Puff. I went with this one because it was lighter and because of the Deep Space blue color being offered. I am glad I did. My wife has the Nano Puff by way of background. Just as warm and very light weight and just as durable in my opinion. But, this jacket feels like you have a long t-shirt on but with the warmth of a down jacket. I wore it in Chicago during mild snow fall and rain last month and it did the job perfectly. I was happy that rain did not really soak through too easily. I had just a t-shirt underneath and was perfectly warm. The hood is nice but it can be a tad distracting if you are trying to turn your head sideways and see things. Not a problem though. I pretty much wear this everywhere I go now and regardless of the temp -- cold, mild or sunny. Really good quality but I am not rough on my stuff so not sure if would snag with rougher use. The deep space color looks better in person and is really unique. A guy helping me at the Apple Store was pretty much drooling over the color. I think it runs pretty true to size too. I get a size Large in most shirts, jackets, etc. and the Large in this jacket fit me perfectly. I was expecting it to be tight but it was not at all. I was hesitant at first because the price is not cheap, but I am glad I did. Very good value considering the quality and how much I wear it. Very addicting jacket too. It is hopping a plane with me and my family to Seattle, Vancouver and Tofino next week!

The ordering process was smooth & quick. Ordered last Friday and got it this Monday. It is super light weight and warm enough for where I'm living. The hood is just a plus. No regrets on buying this and will definitely recommend to others.

I get compliments but I'm still cold
March 17, 2012
I was hoping at this price-point, I'd get a down jacket that would keep me warm standing on the sideline in 40 degree weather (which isn't freezing). It could be me - but this jacket didn't do it even with a merino wool base layer. That said, when I'm moving, I'm warm and I love the fit - opposed to a big puff coat. Patagonia sleeve length is always slightly short on me (I'm 6' 1").
Pros: Great design, Build quality, packs very well, slender look, Cons: Cost, not warm when inactiveQuestionable Durability..

I haven't had this long enough for a full review, but so far so good for my immediate use, I will know more after my backpacking trips to utah this spring. the cost of this garment seems to be very high for what it is, maybe your paying more for the name. Having said that, I would recommend this jacket for the person who has everything and price is of no consequence, I feel there are equal or better jackets out there for less, overall though, I'm happy with this purchase...
