Description

Like a Samuel Beckett novel, minimalism is the name of the game. From the crags to the mountains and everywhere in between, the Patagonia Men's Ultralight Down Jacket has everything you need, nothing that you don't. No excess here, this superbly lightweight insulated jacket has a perfectly proportioned amount of down for incredible versatility across all seasons and activities.

Designed with ultra durable nylon ripstop, this piece was made to withstand the jagged ridges and sharp edges of big walls and still come out on top. 800-fill-power premium goose down with sewn-through construction creates a slim and sleek profile which increases thermal performance, eliminates movement inhibiting bulk and just plain looks good. With a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish to shed rain and snow effortlessly as well as a drawcord hem to seal out wind and weather, the Patagonia Ultralight Down Jacket for men is up to any challenge you lay before it.

Best inner down jacket
May 08, 2012

I used the products of Patagonia such as a down parka, a DAS parka, a down sweater. I am satisfied with the lightness, usability and a moderate thermal insulation power of this product in them. In addition, I can wear clothes one over another with a shell because this is slim fitting.

Great light weight layer
May 04, 2012

I have several patagonia jackets, but this is my favorite. I bought the large. It fits perfectly. I'm 6' 175lbs. Extremely light. fabric is very durable for the weight. It works well by itself, but excels as a mid layer. I have used it as a day to day jacket in the winter, and as a mid layer when backcountry skiing.

Patagonia Men's Ultralight Down Jacket
March 27, 2012

I bought this jacket at the end of the season/ on sale for myself for my birthday. Color options were limited and I selected the orange ( a bit bright for me) but well worth the price. reading reviews I learned that the fit is tight so I selected a Large instead of M because I like a loose fit better. I love this jacket, find myself putting it on straight out of bed in my PJs on the cool New England mornings. As I read someone else say "it's the first jacket I reach for". Buy this you won't be sorry. m

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value

Good lightweight insulation
February 22, 2012

I love everything about this jacket with the exception of 2 items (the only reasons for returning the jacket). For an athletically built individual (I'm 6'3", 185 lbs with long arms and a trim mid-section) the arms are a relatively tight fit and the body is quite bulky. As a result, a size medium fits great through the body and a size large fits better in the arms and shoulders. Can't win 'em all, and this jacket would be absolutely perfect for those that fit the bill.

I would recommend the patagonia ultralight jacket to anyone searching for minimalist weight with a slim fit. I initially bought the jacket under the assumption that it would follow the conventional patagonia fitting but it was quite a bit slimmer than expected. Otherwise, I love the jacket. Stylish colors and maximum warmth at minimum weight.

Cons: very slim fit

The fit is tighter/smaller than the ultra light down products sold 3 months earlier.... recommend one size up. Great product. Patagonia is expensive but it is the best. The ultra light down is an extraordinarily versatile product.

First Jacket I reach for, everytime!
December 28, 2011

This is a great jacket. With the mild winter we have had so far, it is the first jacket I reach for every time we go out. I'm sure that will be the case even when the snow arrives, soon, hopefully!

Great Fit
October 16, 2011

I bought this jacket for my boyfriend and he loves it! He is 5'6" and 155 pounds and the Medium fits him perfectly. The slim fit still allows for him to wear 2 layers underneath. He says it is the best jacket he has ever owned and is impressed with the durability. No need to dry clean, just throw it in the washer with clean tennis balls to keep the shape.

Pros: Great design, Build quality
Comfort: 3 / 5
Durability: 3 / 5

Very light, deceptively warm
September 10, 2011

I took this in my pack for a summer climb on Ranier a few weeks ago. It was more than enough warmth for low 30's; high 20's w/moderate wind. It's also nice because you can bring a lighter bag and sleep in this pieces. It hardly feels like you are wearing anything bulkier than a shirt

Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of use
Cons: hard to loft after packed down
