Warm & Versatile Winter Jacket
June 20, 2011

Although I grew up in warmer climes, I now live in Chicago and am not a fan of the winter! I bought this jacket to add to my winter arsenal. I already own several winter coats, most of them on the more formal side, as well as one heavy down parka. This jacket is the perfect in-between. It is smart enough to be worn over jeans and yet can be worn over workout bottoms (while commuting to the gym, etc.) It is very warm and seems to be made of quality materials. I cannot comment about its durability, since I have only owned it for one season. In short it is a great-looking warm jacket and I highly recommend it.

Great Down jacket without looking like it!
October 05, 2011

If your looking for maximum warmth without looking like a snow man, this is the jacket to get. It's super warm with a nice water proof exterior that looks really nice. You could easily wear this out to a nice dinner or to the ball park. The fit is normal, meaning you could easily wear a sweater underneath if for some reason you ever needed too. My husband wears a t-shirt underneath only and just the Wanaka jacket in 20-30 weather with no issues for an hour at a time walking our pets. For sizing reference my husband is 5'6" 170 pounds and the medium fits perfectly. Can't speak for long term durability yet, but seems like this jacket should last atleast 5 years if not double that.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use

What a great jacket
January 04, 2011

I bought this jacket for my husband and he loves it. This jacket is super warm but is lightweight and not bulky like other jackets. I liked this jacket because not only can it be worn for everyday use but it can also be worn with dress pants and look nice. This jacket is so versatile and well made and well worth the money.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever

The perfect coat
January 02, 2012

I purchased this coat for the flexibility for the slopes and to wear casually in the winter. This coat will do well in both categories. I am 5'9" and weigh around 175 lbs and it fits perfectly in a medium. I would recommend the Patagonia Wanaka Down jacket for the lightweight comfort and the warmth I was looking for in a casual everyday winter coat.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Cons: Cost

One of the best down jackets out there.
March 12, 2012

I have been a huge Patagonia fan for a long time and I own a lot of their products. I just moved to NYC this year and even though it was a mild winter I knew that I needed a jacket that would be able to handle the harsh NYC winter. I tried on many different down jackets but found myself back with Patagonia. I like how the jacket is down filled but still looks slim. The fit is great and I love the color.

Nice little jacket
December 23, 2010

Bought this recently and have used it in urban and rural settings. It looks fine downtown and outdoors in woods and snow it does the job well. I can't comment yet on durability but since it''s Patagonia, I'm willing to wager it will last a long while. I have a medium that fits well, snug enough but not at all constricting, plenty of ease-of-movement in the arms. I wish the side slash pockets were a tad deeper, but this is compensated for by the three secure pockets, one on the jacket's inside. Keeps you dry and toasty.

Great Warm Jacket with Contemporary Styling
January 09, 2012

My family are devout Patagonia purchasers, and this jacket is another reason why! I love this Jacket for the removable hood, looks sleek and can be worn on bitter cold nights with dressier apparel. Red stitching is a nice detail. I was looking for a warm jacket for lots of purposes and this fits each: skiing, playing with kids outside, work etc. Works nicely for all. Only wish Patagonia would consider tall sizing in jackets as I'm 6'3" 200 lbs and seem that in order to get the length I need in sleeves and body, I need to size up, but then the body size gets just a little too roomy. The drawstring cord at the bottom alleviates this coat from looking overly big in this case. Love it.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use
