Sizing ChartPatagonia Men's Wavefarer Board Shorts
Patagonia’s tried-and-true workhorse board short is made from a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) treated nylon that wears light and dries fast. With a flat-lying, single-button gusseted fly, an easy-access self-draining side zip pocket with key loop, a low-rise, below-the-knee length. Inseam (size 32) is 10"; outseam is 21". Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

I work at a canoe livery, so I need something rugged and reliable to pull on in the morning. These are great shorts to wear day after day, and they look and feel great even without washing! I also love the handy pocket placement and the built in pocket drain: a very nice feature if you're in and out of the water constantly! These shorts will be a great addition to your outdoor wardrobe.

Sizing runs small, but since I knew that I ordered a size larger and they fit perfectly. I have worn a Patagonia boardshort for the last 5 years and they have held up to any activity which demands quick drying, strong and secure fitting shorts. I dont think you can find a better short, especially at this price. These bad boys arrived at my place within 3 days of ordering too. Thanks Altrec.com!

The shorts are great; I received them in a very short time; I am very pleased with the whole process.
The only drawback is that I can't wear them everyday to the beach! (I do have to work!)

Great shorts. Don't know what else to say - love the fit, very comfortable, really appreciate the zippered pocket, super fast drying, very well built. I'm 5'11" and 170 and the 32s are a great fit (usually I like to wear 34s because I like my shorts a little loose but since I'm going to be active in these I need a tighter fit). The only change that I would suggest to the folks at Patagonia would be to redesign the tying feature. It works well for me but if I was a little thinner I wouldn't be able to get my shorts tight enough to be able to withstand a big wave and not lose them.

These shorts are excellent for multiple pursuits. Great for lounging at the pool. Swimming at the beach, paddling or surfing if that's your gig. I dig the long length and how they hang on my hips. The side pocket is excellent for storing essentials as well. Material is durable as most Patagonia clothing is. Enjoy!

Tropical addition - 2005-03-21Fit is awesome!
The meshed lined waistband is super plush and fits right on the hips nice and secure, even after dunking a 5 wave set. Zippers are killer for ez acess and doesn't stick to everything or blow out like velcro does, the zip fly is much nicer to lay on too. Key clip works great and there's the option of using the elastic cord for those large plasitc top keys as well. Drawstring occasionally comes undone, but I just double tie it and it's fine. It's cool to finally have a pair of shorts that gets the job done without all the flashy visual bells and whilstles. I'm very pleased and I can't wait to get a few more!

I was looking for a board shorts that I could both swim in and wear casually for quite a while and finally came across just the right pair. I'm happy with the style and would recommend going a size above for optimum fit. I'm looking forward to wearing them both in and out of the water on my upcoming trip to the tropics!
