Superlight, windproof and water-resistant insulated pullover that's soft, compressible, earth-friendly and ideal for anything alpine.
From Alaskan belays to Selkirk ski descents, Micro Puffs have a way of becoming your go-to insulation for cold-weather alpine pursuits. Lightweight and soft, they feature high-lofting synthetic insulation for exceptional warmth, comfort and stuffability, and a durable shell fabric for added wind and water protection. They won't wilt in the wet like other lofty insulation, so you can use them without hesitation in variable conditions. Plus, the shell and insulation are now made from more earth-friendly recycled polyester. Pullover details: a deep DWR (durable water repellent) main zipper; a hidden, zippered chest pocket; full elastic cuffs that pull easily over forearms; a drawcord hem; and a stuff sack. The regular fit is sized to fit over layers.
Perfect!
Exactly what I needed.
Light weight, warm and extremely well built.
Another winner from Patagonia.
Micro Puff Pullover
I gave this to our son-in-law for Christmas. He loves it. Living in Wyoming he said it is perfect.
As described this jacket is warm and lightweight.
It's a raw 26 degrees F here in New England and the Micro Puff pullover has kept me warm on short jaunts outside (about 300 yards at a time) with just a t-shirt underneath. It's also extremely comfortable. I have a couple minor "complaints": I'm 5'11" 190lbs, which puts me smack between a medium and a large. I'm relatively muscular so I'm thick in the shoulder/chest area, but I swim in a large because it's loose around my waist and too long on the arms. Once the medium is on, it's fine, but getting it on and off is a little tough because the waist has no give since it was designed with a draw cord instead of an elastic - something that I usually like. So if you have a "thick" muscular build as opposed to a lean athletic build you may want to disregard some of the advice to buy down a size. Also, I have no experience with material this thin and I'm afraid to catch it on something as it seems like it might rip easily, but nobody else has complained about that, so my fear may be unfounded. Overall I'm very happy with this product.

great jacket
This pullover is very warm with respect to it's weight. This version seems to have a bit more loft than previous years. It's sized big enough to have a layer or two under it. This jacket will be in my pack all winter.
Super light and packable and surprisingly warm
It's become my favorite jacket. I tell everyone about it's attributes. I normally wear a large and ordered a medium on reading other reviews regarding size. It fits well although it comes just to the waist.
Greatest warmth at very low weight
I love this jacket. It packs really small and light while providing good wamrth. It has replaced fleece in my layer system for all of my mountaineering climbs.
First pick on my cheklist
Outstanding warmth to weight ratio, fit perfectly over my base layer and long-sleeved pullover shirt. Took my summer bag, a “Exped Wall Climber” which is rated to 40f, this new Patagonia addition kept its loft all night and got me through a 28f night on the OHT….OK, OK, I woke up every two hours and did some crunches to get my core temp up….not the most comfortable night but this light weight bad-boy really took the edge off what could have been unbearable night. I think I got a winner that will go on my first pick checklist on many more trips to come.
Great for outdoor lovers
This sweater is a must have for outdoor people. It is especially great for backpacking since it is light, warm, windproof and waterresistant. Furthermore it does not get lumpy when wet.
I love the weight
It fits great and I love the weight
Light weight and compact in size
Have not been able to test in really cold weather yet. It is very light in weight and size. Looking forward to updating my review when I get to try it during a planned winter hike. The Micro Puff handled the low
40's with ease with just a wicking short sleeve shirt underneath. Thanks Altrec for getting the micro to me in time for my trip.
Warm, Light, Packable
Replacing my beloved "Puff Ball" which mysteriously vanished. Will be in my pack every time out.
Sizing way off, but puffs up great
Just a word of warning - the sizing on the Medium is way off. It is huge, especially around the chest and waist.. very disappointed that I can't use since the jacket puffs up incredibly for synthetic material.
I always wear medium in Patagonia and up until now it has fittted me perfectly.
