This is a unique piece. I consider it a tunic rather than a dress. Goes great with leggins or skinny jeans. The blue is incredibly beautiful! Overall shape is very flattering. The neck is a bit weird, but I can work with it. Fabric is soft and comfy. I'm planning to order 2 other colors, since attractive tunics that actually cover the butt are hard to find. I am 5'8", 145 pound. The large is a good fit for me. I hope they continue to make it, with even more tempting colors. How about hot pink, purple, perhaps with a subtle print. Now I will search the site for Pategonia sweaters to match, because I want to wear this year round. If you get this dress, you will experience comfort and beauty at the same time. Ladies, you deserve it, treat yourself to this tunic!

I ordered this in both the black and the blue. I was disappointed in the blue- for some reason it didn't flatter as nicely as the black. I kept the black and returned the blue. This top is slightly awkward in the sense when to wear it in New England. I hope to wear it this winter with skinny jeans and a longer sweater over it but wish I could showcase the pretty neckline better. I look forward to warmer days where I can show off this top to its full potential.

This is a really cute dress, but the fit was a bit off. It was a little too big in the shoulder/arm areas. Everywhere else fit perfectly. The quality seemed up to the Patagonia standard. Although I really wanted it to work, I returned it due to the odd fit.

wish I could get one in each color... I've had versions of patagonia's vitaliti (I think that's it--has built-in bra) sundress and you know how the silhouette of some of the staples can change from one year to the next....maddening. I hope that doesn't happen to this model. THIS is a great shape--when I stop working out, my hips chunk out some, and this dress/tunic is generous enough in a med to still look ok. the cotton is a perfect knit--very fine and thin without being stretchy/clingy. Washes perfectly (so far, just did by hand) and folds up to nothing in a suitcase for travel; dries pretty quickly. love it. would snap up a shorter version to use w/ shorts. To find it on sale in several colors here was a big plus.

If you are on the fence, and are thinking the black, just get it, chances are you will love it. I am 5'5", 34 B, 128 lbs, average in shoulders and back, the small is a good fit, not too tight. Will wear with leggings, jeans. The sleeveless style and draped neck are comfy and cool for summer/warm fall. I am sure I will layer under or over when it is cool and it will still look great.

I have this tunic in the gray, purple and brown stripes also it is very great looking on with the slightly cut in shoulders and the cross between a mock T and cowl neck. it's the perfect length to wear with leggings. This black one goes with any color (I especially like it with some bright orange prana knicker leggings!) great for hanging out, for yoga, for travel. Patagonia has done it again with function and great style.

I love this patagonia dress but I prefer to wear as a tunic! Looks great with jeans or leggins and a long sweater! This is Patagonia's 2010 I'm so glad I found it at Altrec and on sale too!

though more of a tunic, looks fantastic with tights. Super comfortable, neckline is very flattering, great travel piece. Wish I could get another color!

I'm 5'6" and 135lbs and bought the Medium. I think it's perfect. It's not form-fitting, but I bought the Med. so it wouldn't be (and so I wouldn't worry about it shrinking slightly in the wash - if it does). Looks great with leggings and jeans. I'll be able to get away with wearing it alone in the summer (as long as I'm careful about bending over)... it is definitely on the short side for someone 5'6".

I got this dress because I'd been wanting something tunic-like to wear over leggings maybe with boots in the Fall, but it could be worn any season. I wasn't sure about the color combination in the Claret but I love it in person, and the use of brown and black make it possible to wear the tunic with any colors. Fit is a slight issue for me just because I'm bigger on the bottom than top so the arm holes are a little big because I ordered up to a large to be safe. I can live with it though because I think it's perfect and my friends were so surprised it's Patagonia because it's so chic.

This top can be dressed up or down, I' 5'6" 128 pounds and a small fits perfectly. The nexkline is flattering, some stretch in the fabric ensures it fits in the right paces. I love the print, and also got the black. Definitely would not wear this top without leggins or jeans, it's pretty short.

I don't normally wear tunic tops because I am 5'4" and feel like they cut me in half. This tunic is so cute and doesn't cut me in half. I love it with the leggings as shown and also with skinny jeans! The black can be dressed up or down!

The fabric is so light and comfy. It's the perfect top for layering or wearing alone in the summer weather. The fit is really great too... it's not too clingy to certain areas but it contours to the body nicely so it doesn't look like I'm wearing a potato sack! :) I want it in every color :)
