Amazing, but could be better...
April 23, 2011
I lived in my hooded down sweater this winter. It is like wearing a sleeping bag, except not quite as snuggly as the men's version. I am quite petite (size 0/2) and found the fit a bit strange. The arms are long but the waist is too high. I know this is Patagonia's attempt at style, but I prefer a mid-hip, more functional fit. As a result, I gave it a 4-star rating in hopes that improvements will be made toward a more traditional fit. We girls deserve as many duck hugs as the boys get:)

I got this jacket a few years ago as a gift, and everyone was envious of my light-weight, warm, comfy, jacket! My partner eventually bought one for herself, and we recently purchased one for our daughter. I have worn mine every day during the long Minnesota winters and it still looks like new. Easy to wash, great quality, it will soon be your favorite too!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Great valuePerfect for what I need.
December 12, 2010
I needed this jacket for a few trips Ill be doing up to about 14,000ft elevation and its going to be perfect. I am 5'3" 122lbs and pretty small up top. The size small without layers underneath is roomy on me. Thinking I would wear this jacket around town and on the mtn I thought about sending it back for a xs but was afraid I wouldnt be able to fit as many layers underneath which is most important to me so I decided to keep it. I can fit a good baselayer, fleece, and a shell underneath, no problem. The shell fitting under was important to me so I could just throw my down on over everything without having to shed clothing and risk getting cold while stopped on the mtn. Nice jacket, great hood, love the grey color, love the cord cinches behind the hood and around the waist. Elastic around the wrists are perfect and it packs down sooo small! Nice jacket.

Not Warm, Can See Light Through Stitching
May 12, 2011
I bought this jacket after some rave reviews from friends. I put it on for a walk on a cool evening, and I found that it wasn't as warm as I expected from a down jacket. It wasn't even very cold outside, but I was shivering. Also, the stitching allows you to see light through it, probably leaking air through those tiny holes and contributing to the draft I felt in this jacket.
Cons: Low performanceDown sweater

Great jacket, ran a little big for me and had to return it. I have a smaller size now and it is a great jacket. Have used it snowboarding in 40 degree sunny weather and it kept me very warm.

best winter hiking jacket!
December 01, 2012
I can't recommend this jacket highly enough. It is lightweight but extremely warm. I have worn it with layers in 0 degree weather and have occasionally been too warm! The colors are gorgeous as well. I have the hoody and like that for extra coverage over a hat in high wind conditions. It hits just below my waist, which is what I need for maximum mobility (I am 5'9"). The range of motion in the arms is great! No restrictions in movement, even with a pack. I think the sizing runs like all Patagonia. I wear a size 12 and the Large is perfect. This jacket layered with Patagonia Capilene and Regulator fleece is perfect for sub zero temperatures.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, PerformanceFavorite jacket!
April 29, 2011
This is my new favorite jacket. It's perfect for every day winter wear in New York, it kept me warm on all but the coldest and windiest days. The only thing I have a slight issue with is that when it's very cold my hands will get slightly cold in the pockets, which never happened with bulkier or heavier down coats. Only downside for me though - it's incredibly light and so easy to pack down, I love it. The hood is perfect, very warm, although it took me a little while to get used to the pull cord. It's water repellent - basically unless it's soaking wet out, I don't bother with my waterproof (Patagonia) rain coat. I am so glad I splurged and bought this, it's well designed and very high quality. Sizing wise, I'm 5'4" and pretty small in the chest area and the XS was perfect, I can wear it easily with or with out a layer. Great job, Altrec and Patagonia!

So Glad I splurged

This coat is expensive but it's really worth it. It's a beautiful coat and you will never worry that it looks cheap. It's unbelieveable how thin but still how warm it can be. My favorite thing about it is you don't get really sweaty when you go inside from a cold place because it regulates your temperature really well. And the hood is awesome! I am quite petite- 32B, size small usually, I could have worn the XS in this but I went for the S because it's nice to have it feel a little roomier and also have more room for whatever you wear underneath. I have the purple and I love the color!
Pros: Great design, Performance, Ease of useGreat Jacket But Runs Big
November 05, 2012
I loved this jacket as I do must Patagonia products. But this one runs big. I am a standard medium and this looked boxy and not as fitted as I had hoped. Had to return and may try the small.
awesome jacket
November 30, 2010
My husband had the non-hoody version of this jacket, and really liked it. I waited until there was a women's color that I liked and purchased the Feather grey. Love it! It's so lightweight, comfortable and looks good too. The hood comes in handy in dealing with the changeable Colorado mountain weather. Patagonia comes through again with a wonderful product!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueMarch 16, 2011
It's a classic one in all brand down jackets. I can't imagine a down jacket could be so light while it provide much warm. Patagonia is one of my favorite brands and it has a high quality. I am very satisfied with it.
Awesome!

This is great jacket for spring skiing. I have a large chest (38DD) but the xl was still a great fit. I bought the lagoon color, which is a stunning color. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the purchase.
Pros: Build qualityGreat Lightweight Jacket
February 03, 2012
I ordered this jacket for my wife, and she really loves it. First of all, it is incredibly lightweight - she says that it feels almost like she is wearing a warm cloud with it on. This is because of the high quality, high-loft (800 fill) down that Patagonia puts in to it. You can also easily stuff it away, and it really does compress to a tiny size if you need to put it into a backpack or suitcase. The hood is generous, and easy to cinch down on a windy day. My only recommendation for this jacket would be to consider pairing it with a good quality rain shell if you are in a wet climate (hello Pacific Northwest). With that said though, it is water resistant enough to stand up to a light drizzle or a quick jaunt from the car without absorbing much at all. Build quality is great, although I expect nothing less from Patagonia. Overall, a great jacket either as a a standalone, or used as a layer.
Pros: Great design, Build qualityGreat for every cold day...
February 22, 2012
I love this jacket. It is so versatile and can be worn any time it is cold outside. I love how lightweight it is and how it keeps me warm, even on the coldest days. The reputation is definitely earned and deserved for this Patagonia down sweater. I'm glad I found this on Altrec. Great service and product selection. Will buy from here again.

If you are looking for a stylish, warm, comfortable, light weigh down jacket for this winter, this will be the right one for sure!! This is a high quality down jacket, it lasts forever, and it is good for travel. I am in love with the product! This is my favorite one by far, highly recommend!!
Patagonia rocks

This is an amazing jacket. So lightweight and as warm as my puppy Northface jacket that I look like the Pillsbury Dough boy in. My only complaint, and I admit I am hard on clothing, is that I already have a small tear in it. wish it were more tearproof.

I love my jacket.
November 04, 2010
I had been needing a good winter jacket for quite some time. When I found this one, the down-fill and light weight both appealed to me. Upon receiving this jacket, I was not disappointed. It keeps me very warm without feeling bulky. The hood is especially nice for those cold and windy winter days, and fits snugly around your ears using the drawstring. I went for a larger fit so I could layer with it. I would usually wear a small, but the medium fits fine and I even wore it zipped up while fully pregnant.
Women's down sweater full zip hoody
April 20, 2013
Love this jacket. Perfect weight for colder spring nights or warmer winter days. I own two nano puff pullovers (which I love), but this jacket offers greater warmth with the convenience of a full-zip vs a pull over. The fit is very roomy. I am 5'5" and 115lbs and the extra small is very roomy....I was concerned that it might be to small, but fits well with room for layering underneath. I would recommend this jacket...

She goes to school where it is snowy and cold and needs lots of layers to stay comfortable. This jacket is the best as it provides her with a stylish, lightweight and non bulky jacket to keep her toasty warm! Thank you!

A wonderful product. I already had one, and I sent this one to my daughter for her birthday. She was thrilled. I appreciated that there was no shipping charge and that the product arrived in a timely manner.
January 12, 2012
I bought this for my wife. She is afraid of the cold winter. When she wear it in cold winter, She feels warmer than any other down jacket she had. It is very soft slim and light. She like it very much. I Strongly recommend it It is good value for money.

I now have purchased the down sweater jacket, the down sweater vest and the down sweater jacket w/hood. I love them all, but I have to say the hood is wonderful, this is now my all time favorite jacket, plus I am constantly getting compliments on the color. So what could possibly be next?
Pros: Great design, Great valueJanuary 28, 2013
My daughter lives in her jacket for daily use and outdoor fun. She uses it with a Patagonia waterproof shell over it for rain and never needs anything else. Warm and dry. It's like wearing a pillow and not too bulky. It is actually flattering not boxy. Great with hood!!

Cute, Warm, and Light
March 14, 2013
I love this jacket - it looks great, is warm, and I basically wear it every single day all winter long! I get a lot of compliments on it. When it's zipped all the way up with the hood up it is really snug and cozy for those days when there is wind and snow. I have the light blue color and it definitely gets dirty looking quickly from my kids/dog/car but I wash it and it cleans up easily.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of useSuper Well and Well Designed
January 16, 2012
I'm 5'4" and 125 lbs and the small fits me perfectly. It's snug enough to keep the warmth in but I can still squeeze a solid base layer underneath without restricting my mobility. The jacket is way warmer than I expected. Did a 1/2 hike through Acadia here in New England and got caught in a little drizzle and the water proofing proved better than I expected. You can't go wrong.

Love the weight and warmth!
January 15, 2013
This is my 2nd winter wearing this jacket. I appreciate the weight of the jacket and the ease of taking it on and off. Above zero-it is great! Below zero temperatures-a second layer would come in handy. The color is awesome (curacao)!!! I had to return my first one because the stitching was coming out in the arm. The second one seems to be holding up though!

Great feel, but horrible fit in the huge arms
January 30, 2012
I LOVED this jacket for the incredible warmth (800 fil), freedom of movement, and bulk-less, flattering slim fit. BUT had to return because the arms were cut so enormously. I bought an XS (5'2, 108 lbs, slim build) & it fit perfectly except the arms. It might have been a defective one, as the arms do not look as disproportionate as in the web photos. It wasn't just an appearance issue - warmth of the arms was compromised by all the space. Note: My rating on durability is based on my other Patagonia experiences.

Down hood total warmth
December 27, 2010
This is a light feeling jacket that moves with me. It never gets in the way and you would forget it's there until you put up the hood. The moment the down hood goes up I am so shielded from the wind and cold. The bright turquoise blue is like sunlight on water. I love this jacket!
Pros: Great design, Ease of useMust have jacket
February 05, 2010
Got this for my girlfriend for Christmas - here is her report: "I wear it everywhere - to work, around town, as an outer layer or under layer for skiing. It's warm when you need warmth, but doesn't ever make you feel overheated - the wonders of down. The fit is true to size and there is no extra bulk. Truly versatile and stylish." Now she wants the vest.

This is a great light weight down coat to pack in your backpack for back country skiing or camping in the summer time! I love it!!! You can use this as a multi-season jacket for all out door activities. Definitely wouldn't wear it in a rainstorm, but snow storms its great!
Pros: Great design, PerformanceMy favorite jacket
November 03, 2011
I'm a bit of a patagonia junkie and this is by far my favorite piece they make. Fits perfectly, (cuts off right at hips- not too short as in previous years) layers really well and keeps me warm on the coldest of days. Hope to see another one under the tree this year.
Pros: Great designpractical and pretty
May 30, 2011
I have had my eye on this pretty down jacket since last winter and I was finally able to afford it with 20% coupon from Altrec. I am 5'2" and 110lbs and ordered a small size thinking it should give me some room for layering. When I received the jacket, I loved everything about it except the size. It was very generous size small, more like size large. I called the Altrec customer service to exchange it to XS (the process was surprisingly painless). It only took few days for the jacket to arrive, (XS is still roomy) and I took it to Mt. Boldy-Bowl summit where it was very windy and cold that day. This down jacket is superlight, windproof and water-resistant yet breathable – it is warm but doesn’t trap sweat inside. There are two zippered out side pockets and one interior zippered stretch mesh, which doubles as a stuff sack. I like the elastic cuffs and the bottom of the jacket has draw cord hem seal. The hood is helmet compatible and a draw string on the back to adjust the fit, however, I would prefer the string on the side of the hood. This jacket overall proved to be very practical on the trail and also is so darn cute to wear.
Pros: Great design, Performance, light weight, Cons: Costgreat gear!

It is warm and very light. The cut is nice too. But if you prefer to a sweater that does not look puffy, the Nano puff sweater would be a smart choice, - just my opinion. Overall, it is a wonderful down sweater, and easy to carry with at those hiking adventures.

I own a lot of down jackets and vests and this one is my go to jacket. I find myself wearing it more than any other because it's comfortable and the down weight is perfect for Nor Cal's dry climate. I would definitely recommend this jacket!!

When I first tried on the coat it very light and wasn't sure if it would be warm enough. It has passed the test I only had one layer underneath and I was in 12 degree weather with a wind chill of minus 7 although I was only out for a short time it was warm and kept the wind out. I would highly recommend its nice and warm without all the bulk :)
