Sizing ChartPatagonia Women's Down Vest
Playing rough in frosty conditions can literally knock the stuffing out of some lightweight down vests. That's why Patagonia's newly-enhanced Down Vest uses a tough variable ripstop fabric that can take the slides, slips and falls without losing the fluff (the variable ripstop yarns also create a cool cross dye color design). Patagonia recently revised the outer face material without compromising the weight, so both the shell and lining remain downproof, highly water repellant and lighter than a lot of similar reinforced alpine down designs. A newly configured quilted panel construction helps reduce bulk while improving your upper body mobility for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Stretch Spandex armholes enhance the overall range of motion.
- New durable 2.4-oz. 50x 30 denier variable polyester ripstop fabric treated with a Deluge DWR finish
- Quality European goose down retains loft even after repeated compression in a stuff sack
- Soft brushed tricot lining along collar
- Contoured female fit tapers along sides with Spandex around armhole openings
- Full-length front zipper has a no-snag draft flap behind it
- Internal zippered pocket (stash) and two zippered hand pockets
- Handy stuff sack included (stuff sack treated with a DWR finish)
- Weight: 11.5 oz. (326 g.)
Fit Tip: This item is fitted. Item is form fitting, tighter and closer to the skin than average. This item also tends to run short.

I have 3 down vests (jacket junkie) and this one is by far, my favorite. I'm 5'8 120lbs and I bought a medium, which is great for how I am using it. Could have gone down a size to be a little more form fitting but wanted it to be able to fit over a fleece or sweater. Great buy!

I bought this vest for my wife. She has wanted a down vest for years, but been reluctant since most make you look like the Michelin Man. This vest fits incredibly well, is perfect warmth for the Pacific Northwest, and the Patagonia quality speaks for itself.

This is by far the best vest and I have tried quite a few! It's very warm, not too bulky, very soft and easy to travel with. I would highly recommend this vest.

This is my favorite piece for the spring and fall. It is a great travel piece also. Compared to the North Face equivalent, this one was more fitted and less bulky, yet seemed warmer. Some people may not like the tighter fit though. I would suggest washing the vest with the delicate setting. After two years of regular wear and wash, the down started to come out at the seams. I've owned a lot of down jackets, vests, etc, so this was something I expected. Patagonia gave me a refund without a problem. They would have exchanged the item except that it was the off-season, so the vest was out-of-stock. I highly recommend this to people who are looking for form and function in a vest.

True to Patagonia's name and reputation, this vest lasts and lasts. It's quite warm but also works well on windy spring days. The down is comfortable but not bulky and the cut is perfect. I've had mine for several years and it looks as good now as when I bought it. Highly recommended!

My sister had this vest in green circa last year's collection and I was constantly "borrowing" it and conveniently forgetting to give it back. This fall I was determined to save my dollars and buy one myself. I was disappointed that this year's colors were not the same as last years - this year's are muted, not as vibrant, but nonetheless, I bought this vest in black. AND I LOVE IT!! I wear it everywhere as well and I'm embarrassed to admit it, but sometimes I like to fall asleep in it. I have gotten many compliments and look forward to wearing it all winter. My only reservation is that it would be nice if it had a hood. This was also my first time ordering from Altrec.com and I had a no-hassle ordering process and who doesn't like free shipping! I will definitely shop here again!

This vest has really great tailoring and makes you look feminine and stylish, not bulky. I have it in black, and it's quite chic. It's the one item of clothing I take with me everyday, since I never know where my day will lead. I'm not sure it's the vest I would take camping though-- I'd probably choose something lighter and less stylish for backpacking.

I love this vest, and the price was right for a Patagonia product. It sits @ the hip & is fitted which I wanted; it's not @ all bulky. The pink is nice; it is not a bright pink, it is a more muted pink that compliments the brown interior & vice-versa. The vest is very chic & stylish for outdoor wear & again not bulky and shapeless.

It's very warm and not bulky at all. It's fitted and it moves with you. The vest is very cute and feminine, but utilitarian at the same time. I do wish the pockets were bigger.

I love my pink down vest. It is the perfect peice for hiking, school, or walking the dog.
It's very comfortable since I went up a size since it seems to run a tad small. Great for layering and the color goes with everything. I highly recommend it.

This vest has proved to be especially warm, great for layering, stylish (and flattering), and an absolute must-have for those whose interests correspond with the outdoors. I recommend this vest to anyone who spends a great deal of time in the cold. It does run a tad small, but it is the vest that you will grab when you're in a hurry on the way out the door.

Patagonia vest is 700 fill, better than North Face, but Mountain Hardwear vest is 800 fill and nylon is silkier. However, I got a great price on Altrec for this vest and for what I paid, this is a good, quality down-filled vest. Patagonia is ridiculously overpriced in comparison to the quality and utility of the Mountain Harwear brand.

Provides greater warmth than a fleece vest without the Michelin Man look found in heavier and perhaps warmer down vests. Svelte styling and close fit make it attractive--more urban than Mount Everest. Runs a tad small especially if you're planning to wear a heavy sweater underneath.
