Women's Down With It Parka 4.7 5 36 36
Good Coat It fits well and it pretty true to size. I ordered a medium. It's a good length and protects from winter weather. Wish the zipper pulls and the hood pulls were better made. February 4, 2012
Stylish, warm coat to deal with Chicago winters This is a really great coat in terms of style and warmth. I'm 5'1" and got the XS. It's slim-fitting but still allows me to wear layers underneath and has a dual zipper so I can unzip the bottom part to allow easier sitting. The only slight cons I've experienced are that the neck is a bit tight if you were to zip it all the way up; I can't zip it around a scarf, but you really don't need one if you're wearing this coat. Te hood fits a little strange - it's warm but kind of puffy on the back of the head. I still highly recommend this coat, despite these minor complaints. January 22, 2012
great coat I am 5'2" 123lbs. and I bought this coat in small. I only wore it twice since I got it only two days ago, and it is warm in 35degree weather. It fits great, very warm and lightweight. I love everything about it except for the hood. The hood fits funny, doesn’t' cover enough from the sides, and doesn’t really look good. It should be deeper at least from the sides and maybe some fur around it would make it look nicer. I would recommend it and would give it 5 stars if only the hood would be better. January 17, 2012
Great coat, runs a little big but not by much. My wife loves it. Great for walking our child around city in cold weather. Very duarable. Hood is low profile which she likes. January 3, 2012
Nice Jacket-didn't fit Have lots of Patagonia products and have always been pleased with the quality, style and fit. This parka was really nice~I had purchased it to wear for work for warmth and on wet days as opposed to a bulkier jacket. Style for that purpose was great, but it was very large, just in the back and didn't fit well. I ordered an XS and I usually wear an XS or XXS or 0 in most things. I would have loved it if it had fit well. December 18, 2011
Love this coat! I have been a fan of patagonia since I can remember, but they have gona above and beyond with this coat. I have worn this coat in 35 degree weather, and in 8 degree weather, and each time I was snug as a bug. So lightweight feeling, awesome tailored fit (true to size), but I still feel like I can climb everest in it. Not too long for hikes, not too short for playing in the snow. Great for work or play. THANK YOU Patagonia! August 31, 2011
best coat ever I debated for a long time between this coat and the Mountain Hardware Downtown coat, and ultimately chose this one because of its trim fit, even though it didn't have the cute fur around the hood and the fleece lining. I don't regret my choice--it has kept me toasty, and I don't feel like a poof ball. I'm 5'8" and 128 lbs. and the size small fits great. I haven't put it to the test as far as how waterproof it is, but it did fine in some light rain. I wish it were still winter so I could keep wearing it. :) May 11, 2011
love love love this coat I purchased this in January and have worn it all winter - well unfortunately have still worn it some even into April as it's been cold in the midwest. The design on this is great - not bulky at all and very flattering for a down coat. And of course down is the warmest (and lightest) there is for staying warm in the winter. It is slim fit, but true to size. Don't size up people! You don't need to. April 27, 2011
She loves it I bought this coat for my girlfriend and she loves it. It looks nice and is very warm for a not so bulky jacket. It was a cold winter and she stayed warm on the streets of NYC. Its also light enough that when the temps popped up to close to 40 deg she was still comfortable. April 20, 2011
great coat! i'm always freezing and have finally found a coat that keeps me warm, even in the subzero temps we've been having lately! The fit is a bit odd - I'm 5'3 105 lbs, small build, but its still tight in the shoulders if i'm wearing a heavy sweater or fleece underneath February 11, 2011
Classic and stylish winter coat The parka has both form and function. I also like that the hood can be removed. I rated it a 4-star because I find that it is a bit too long for me, but otherwise, I really like it. February 9, 2011
Patagonia Down With it Parka I live in the Northeast and have to wear a suit every day. This jacket is by far the warmest and most stylish, versatile (casual or dress) coat on the market. I highly recommend this parka. The quality is superior to competing brands. It is warm and fits as described. This is well worth the purchase price, which, in my opinion, is arguably under priced. February 7, 2011
Very Cute Patagonia Coat I agonized over whether to buy this coat in a Small or Medium since all the reviews said it ran so slim. I am 5'7" and 125 lbs and the Small fits perfectly. The coat is slimming and very flattering. I love that it's so warm without all the bulk. My only complaint about this coat is that the hood is not very deep. The one time I've worn it up was a rainy, windy day and I had to keep tugging at it to protect my face. I might stitch a row of rabbit fur or a synthetic fur around the hood both to add to the warmth/depth and to make the coat just a little more glamorous! Overall, another quality outer garment from Patagonia! January 30, 2011
A trendy coat I bought this coat because I want something trendy and warm at the same time. However, I have to say this jacket is not as warm as I thought it could be, especially the lower part of the jacket. Luckily, this winter is not cold, so I wear it everyday walking to office. Nevertheless, it's warmer than any random puff jackets from fashion brands. The other thing is that this jacket is rather long. It just fits tall people much better than the short one, such as me. I am 5'2 and size S almost reaches my knee. January 30, 2011
Warmth and style! I'am short and this jacket length is great. Being short makes it difficult to find a parka . I took a chance and ordered this down with it jacket and was pleasantly surprised. The parka is the perfect length with the exception of the arms being a little long. It light, stylish, and warm.It has a very slimming effect. If your looking for style and to be different from all those North Face people this is the jacket.Patagonia is always cutting edge and is made well.Patagonia stands behind its products.Try it you'll love this jacket. January 2, 2011
perfection! I absolutely love this coat. It's so warm, yet very light. I wear it for walking the dog and running all my errands. I probably would not wear it to a mall, as the down becomes very warm after an hour or so. I'm 5'6 and 125 ibs. and the small fits perfectly. It is not bulky at all. December 28, 2010
This is an amazing coat! The coat is unbelievably warm but so lightweight! In the Chicago wind and chill I am so warm and comfortable. I wish I bought this coat years ago instead of being so cold! December 21, 2010
awkward fit This coat would look good on a really slim person. The design of the quilting makes the back of the coat pinch in at the wrong place. Also, the brown color is dull and boring. Too bad for me and my favorite brand, but I must return it. December 20, 2010
Patagonia Down With It Parka This is a wonderful coat. Super warm, very stylish, great fit. True to Patagonia's excellent quality. December 11, 2010
Nice down jacket! This is a lovely down jacket that is warm but surprisingly light and non-bulky. So far, it has kept me warm in 15 degree weather (that's as cold as it has gotten in the midwest so far!) The 'slim-fit' is a nice feature. I initially had doubts about the size (I bought a medium and wear a size 10 dress), but it actually fits perfectly. It hits just above the knee and the sleeves come down to my wrists. The hood had a draw cord to tighten it around the face. THe neck is a little constricting when fully zipped up, so I leave it a little loose and wear a warm scarf. I am happy with this jacket. December 10, 2010
Great look Very good product and perfect for windy, cold, snowy days. Good quality and wears very well. Stays dry and warm in harshest conditions. December 8, 2010
Great coat My wife loves the fit and the warmth this down parka provides. She wanted a light weight coat that would provide full coverage on our cold, winter nights. Looks and feel great without the bulk of a heavy coat. November 30, 2010
Looks chic and stay warm Been looking for a knee-length down parka to stay warm during winter ski trips to Utah. Was researching/choosing between Fiona Parka and this. I tried the Fiona Parka at a store, it is chic and more form fitting, however, the princess cut at the bottom was too much for me. The material, though light, appears to be thin and too glossy. I ended up ordering the Down-with-it parka from Altrec and am very happy with it. It has a detachable hood (which the Fiona Parka doesn't have) that is more versatile/functional. The fit is also more generous than the Fiona Parka. I am 5'3"", 118 lb. the S size is just perfect, with a little bit room for layering. The material feels durable and toughter than that of Fiona Parka. Looking forward to my upcoming ski trip to Utah, knowing this time my thighs will be protected from the cold. October 16, 2010
LOVE IT BOUGHT AN XS, FITS PERFECTLY. SUPER WARM AND NOT HEAVY AT ALL. March 2, 2010
An ultra-warm, stylish, yet shapely puffy! I purchased this cote as a gift for my wife. I'm a big believer in down coats for incredible warmth and light weight, and this just-above-the-knee-length coat was a no-brainer in that regard. However, my own experience with down is that the warmth comes at a penalty: one often looks like a marshmallow. As a male, that's not a big deal, but I appreciate that women are typically more concerned with such things. Patagonia nailed it with this one: They managed to create a 600-fill down coat that has a trim, figure-flattering finish to it. I'm not sure how they did it, but they sure did. Even the stitching of the panels works to create that slender look. My wife, at 5'6"/145#, fit perfectly into the medium. Fit and finish is fantastic, as is to be expected from Patagonia. I believe there is a lifetime warranty, which doesn't hurt, either. My wife is delighted with this coat. We live in one of the colder parts of the country where sub-zero temperatures are part of the norm, and I dare say she's almost delighted to face those previously-dreaded mornings now that she has this coat. February 22, 2010
Fantastic the parka is all I have been wearing-it is so light weight, but amazingly warm. I love it! January 27, 2010
For a puffy-style coat, it is trim, tailored and warm. It is also a great travel coat with its good style, durablility and warmth. it is also light-weight. It is both practical and stylish. And the hood makes it more useful on snowy or rainy days. January 6, 2010
fantastic! best of it's kind. many try and copy, but just not the same. January 4, 2010
Overall a Good Coat; Proportions a Bit Weird The coat is stylish and keeps me warm in the wind and snow. I like the way you can adjust the hood to fit snugly around your head, regardless of your head's size or general inclinations. The feathers don't come out. The only thing about the coat is the weird proportions. I am 5' tall, about 100 pounds, and am perfectly proportioned. I don't have overly short/long arms or legs. My limbs are slightly long for my height, but totally within the normal range. I'm not fat or overly thin. I got the XS and it fits OK except that it goes down past my knees (implicating a good fit for a tall person), but the pockets are way up high on the coat, as if it were made for a person with 3/4-length arms. Don't get me wrong, I'm not prejudiced against extra small people with really short arms and really long legs, but most people probably just don't fit this bill. I think it would have been better if Patagonia had manufactured a petite XS like a couple inches shorter than the other sizes, since most XS people are not really that tall. I also think it would be better if the pockets were a little lower on the coat. January 3, 2010
excellant coat I'm tall and this coat fits me perfectly. It's warm and comfortable; the only problem I have with it is the hood isn't adjustable, or so it seems. December 24, 2009
I bought two of these I bought two of these great coats, slim and warm December 15, 2009
Awesome coat I absolutely love this winter coat by Patagonia. In fact, I love it so much that I bought it TWICE! Warning: learn from my mistake, do NOT put it in the dryer unless you plan to leave it in for a very short period of time. Over-drying really screws it up and it becomes unwearable. I gave it five stars anyway because it's incredibly warm and superbly made. It was my own fault for not reading the care instructions. December 11, 2009
Love it! This parka scrunches up and can easily fit into a suitcase. It's light yet very warm and looks great with a nice silhouette - not too slim and definitely not boxy. I'm a petite size and usually coats that are not petite don't fit. But this one did! Only thing is that for me the arms are too long - but they can easily be cuffed and it looks great just the same. I LOVE this coat and plan to wear it for a long time. December 11, 2009
Love this coat This is such a cozy coat that also manages to be quite flattering. It is the perfect weight and keeps you extremely warm. I love the 2 way zipper option which can keep the cold out or open up if it's warmer outside. November 5, 2009
Fabulous Down Parka!!! I purchased my Patagonia Women's Down With It Parka in early December for use on daily walks (15-40 degrees) in the Sierras with my dog. The parka has surpassed my expectations. It is lightweight, but it fully insulates you from the cold. The two-way zipper allows you to zip open the bottom on warmer days or to accomodate a longer stride. The removable padded hood works well and adds extra warmth even when you do not have it on your head. The down padding is also an effective cushion if you inadvertently fall on an icy roadway. This parka is well constructed and has a somewhat roomy feel. You can wear a synthetic sweater or fleece vest under it, but it is warm enough over a cotton or nylon shirt. The fabric and style is dressy enough to wear to dinner or evening out. I know I will use it for many years to come. January 7, 2009
Great Coat!! I love this coat! With wind chills of -10 yesterday, I was quite snug without looking like the Michelin Man. The downside to the slim silhouette is the lack of pockets...small price in my opinion. I would recommend this coat to anyone looking for warmth without the bulk. January 5, 2009
