Great jacket
January 05, 2012
Very warm and comfortable. It's light and doesn't feel bulky. The magenta color looks awesome! I recommend this jacket! I also own the north face nuptse and though it's warm it's very bulky.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Cons: Costgreat for cold, not so much for rain....

This jacket has a great fit, it's light and TOASTY warm, and I loved the color!! That said, this jacket wasn't for me :( The down showed through the light aqua color, giving it a "dirty" appearance. I live in Seattle, and quickly realized after one outing in the rain, that this jacket was not going to be "Pacific-NW-rain" resistant, at least.... But hey, it IS a great jacket for not-rainy climates, and a different color might just be all it takes to make it completely stellar.
Pros: Great designPerfect

I love this jacket, the fit is perfect. The length is a little longer than most down sweaters/jackets, so it covers my entire torso, which is great. It's got the usual patagonia nice details and excellent quality.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueExcellent purchase

I absolutely love this jacket. It's extremely light, a little longer than a lot of the other jackets I tried on, the warmth is outstanding, amazingly comfortable. I have nothing negative to say about it. It is water repellent, I live north of Seattle and this time of year it's always spitting and the rain just beads up on it. It's so light I hardly notice it and it's easily layered over. I'm 5'8" and 160 and the L size is perfect. So happy with it.
Pros: Build quality, Performance, Great valuegreat jacket

I purchased this sweater, as well as Patagonia's regular down sweater, and this is the hands down winner. The fit is so much more flattering! It's so darn cute and is so warm that you really don't need much in the way of layering underneath. It's perfect!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valuePerfection

I am always cold and even in the late summers of Montana I need a coat like this for the mornings. I love that it is lightweight and doesn't feel bulky. I wear it in the a.m. and by noon is packs down to nothing in my tote bag. I chose the sky color and decided it was too light for my lifestyle (I'm a mess) and am returning for the black. Can't wait to receive it!

Warm and flattering

I compared this to Patagonia's regular down sweater and found that this was warmer and more flattering. Yes, it is bulkier, but somehow manages to conform to the body in such a way that shows one's figure. The regular down sweater also seemed a lot wider around the torso and looked strange (the back puffed out) when I tried wearing it unzipped. This hi-loft sweater isn't that much more expensive then the regular sweater, either ($30 more). Another thing that I liked was that this sweater was several inches longer in the torso and a little bit longer in the arms. For reference, I am 5'11 and 140 lbs and took a Medium, so I appreciate the extra length. The sweater also stuff nicely down into a little pouch for traveling. As always the case with Patagonia, it is of great quality, and I know that it will last for a long time. The price was a bit steep, but I think that it will be worth it in the long run.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, flattering fit, Cons: CostLove this jacket

What's so nice about this jacket is how warm it is despite being very light. I did try on the regular down sweater first, and it seemed to have a little more room through the waist, so this one must have a slightly more curvy cut. It is just a tad longer, which I like, and does not seem any heavier despite the higher loft. The only reason I give it a 4 instead of a 5 is because you can see the dark feathers inside the channels in the color I got, which is sky blue. Even so, it is very attractive. Also, I like the feature on the regular down sweater where you can stuff it into its own inside pocket. This one comes with a separate bag instead.
Pros: Performance, Great value, Cons: can see feathers through channels on some colorsDisappointed

I returned this jacket because you could see the down/feathers through the nylon. It made the coat look dirty. I expected more from Patagonia. I tried a different color in a local store and loved the way it fit--quite true to size.
