I bought this dress in preparation for a trip to Italy in May. It looks like it will work well for multi-use - hiking and going out to dinner. It says it is slim fitting and I bought a small which seems to work well w/ length and such as I am 5'9, 125lbs. Others' comments on size really helped me choose which size would fit me best.

This dress has a nice fit and can be dressed up or down. Great all around dress if you need to pack light or just to wear around town.

The best all round dress I could of ever bought. It can truly go both ways. the best part is that it is so comfy. Throw it in your bag for a trip and pull it out ready to wear! I'm all about the easy!

I agree with the other reviewers that this dress runs small. I usually take a small in Patagonia, and was able to wear a Medium in this dress. I am 5'5", 125 lbs. 28" waist. This will be a great addition to my work wardrobe!

I was previously undecided on whether or not to keep the black Margot. I kept it, and I'm so glad. Although it's shorter than the grey one, it's not too short. I washed it and hung it up to dry, and it still looks brand new. Buy this dress. You won't regret it.

This dress is pretty cute and pretty comfortable, although it seems to run a little small through the bust. I think the length is perfect (XS hits just a bit above my knee, I am 5'3"). The cross-over front detail makes it a bit more interesting than basic black.

I ordered this dress in both black and gray. It is adorable and flattering--not as revealing on top as I thought it would be from reading the other reviews. Unfortunately, the black dress is almost 2 inches shorter than the gray. I haven't decided whether to keep the black one yet or not.

I loved this dress, kept the black, but had to return the gray. Band under bust was different color from any pattern on the dress. I wanted to keep it but couldn't get over the mis-match. The fabric is wonderful, and as others have noted, bodice is low.

This is a cute little number. It fits perfectly. I am 5'7" and 130lbs. The medium worked for me. The v-neck is low but looks great with a camisole.

This dress is very versatile, it can be casual, super hang out dress, or professional looking. I wore mine to a work interview with a scarf and my future boss actually complemented my great looking outfit. I think it goes with most seasons and many different types of shoes or boots depending on the season. It also fits great! I just wish I would have bought it earlier!

I love this dress! Very comfortable, and flattering. I need to wear a camisole under because the cut is low, but it looks great. Perfect material and will be able to wear for most of the year.

Not really sure about keeping this dress, in fact, because it fits well and is sexy on top, as it shows mega cleavage, but the bottom flares out so much it is almost frumpy-looking. I wish it were slimmer cut throughout and a bit shorter. (In black it is 36.5 inches long).But it is a good go-to dress and I like the empire waist and, as with all Patagonia, it is well made and comfortable. But you should probably size up if between sizes as it is slim cut in the shoulder, bust and arms.

Highly recommend the margot dress. It fits well, and it is well made. A true staple, simple black dress. The sizing is consistent with other patagonia women's clothing. Go for it!

i usually wear a medium in dresses but i followed the advice of other reviewers and ordered a large because i have thick arms, and am glad i did, the medium would have been too tight in the arms, but the large is perfect and is just the right length, just below the knee on me-i'm 5'6". so very comfy, washes,wears and packs well. i'll be getting the black one for sure and would love some other fun colors

This dress is a slim fit, and says so, so buy big or don't bulge. It is an excellent travel dress, and is a bit dressy or can be casual with flip flops.

I liked the dress and thought it fit true to size. I am 5'4" and 115 lbs and it fit perfect. I am also small chested and it may not fit as well for someone with a large bust. I bought it to wear to a wedding and it was more informal and shorter than I wanted so I returned it.

I'm glad that I followed the suggestions in the other reviews and ordered a Medium in this dress, instead of a Small. I typically wear Smalls in dresses (5' 7", 130 lbs), but the Medium fits just right. It is lower cut in the front than I thought, so I will be wearing a tank top underneath. Very cute dress. I like the detailing around the waist. It will be a great dress for traveling, as it does not wrinkle!!

Dress is both comfortable and flattering, which can be an uncommon combination. Also, barely reaches the knee but still is modest enough to be worn in a variety of situations (in my opinion) . . .

Very easy to throw on this dress, look presentable and go. Very flattering cut and the pattern hides those little body flaws. Only concern--I have to wear a cami under it for work because the V is pretty low. Overall, very happy with this dress.

I LOVE this dress! As a small breasted woman, I rarely wear deep v-neck tops/dresses....however, with a tank underneath, this dress is very flattering. It's super comfortable and I get a ton of compliments whenever I wear it!
