Lightweight, windproof and water-resistant alpine insulation that's highly compressible and earth-friendly
Since cold weather doesn?t always mean dry conditions, serious winter climbers and backcountry skiers tend to love efficient warm-when-wet high-loft insulation. That?s why our Micro Puffs use top-quality synthetic fill, surrounded with a durable, windproof and water-repellent shell fabric. And they just got more earth-friendly: The shell and the insulation are now made from recycled polyester. The hood fits over a helmet and adjusts for both volume and face circumference, the main zipper is DWR (durable water repellent) coated, and new quilted-in side panels add feminine shaping. Pocketry: one left chest, two handwarmers and two interior mesh drop-in pockets for drying gloves. Includes a drawcorded hem and stuff sack. The regular, feminine fit is sized to wear over layers.
- Shell: Solid colors: 1.3-oz, 22-denier double ripstop polyester (90% recycled). Two-toned colors: 2.3-oz, 50-denier variable ripstop fade polyester; both have a Deluge? DWR finish. Lining: 1.2-oz 22-denier, polyester (50% recycled) with a Deluge? DWR finish. Insulation: 3-oz Climashield? Green continuous filament polyester (40% recycled)
- Fabric is made from lightweight, yet tough, recycled polyester; Shell fabric is durable, windproof and water-resistant
- Insulated with 3-oz. continuous filament recycled polyester that stays exceptionally warm even when wet
- Lightweight and compressible insulation won?t clump or separate, thus eliminating cold spots

This jacket keeps me warm in most of days in winter (15~25F). It also works nicely in spring. I like the water resistant feature coming with this high-loft insulation jacket. I just hope the hood could be larger that can cover most of my face during rainy or windy days. (5’4� with size M)

Live in NYC w/the weather going crazy from low tens to the high forties and this jacket (especially the hood) keeps me nice, warm, and out of the cold. Oh, it's also so light that I could barely feel... absolutely love it! Now if only they have this longer so my leg could stay warm too...

I love this jacket but as always, I find myself right between the small and medium in patagonia's sizing. The medium is huge! I end up exchanging patagonia stuff 90% of the time for a different size because it is so inconsistent. So if you are between sizes, go down a size for the micropuff...even if you do plan on layering underneath it. Other than that, it is typical patagonia...light, warm and high quality, just a little skewed on the sizing. Luckily Altrec is awesome and exchanged it with ease. Oh, and for reference I am a small in this jacket (5'8" 125 lbs and not well endowed in the northern region...if that helps)

I live in Atlanta, GA and it is freaking 18 degrees today! Perfect opp to try my new jacket and it passed! I am wearing a fleece under but am really toasty. Wind is really bad last few days, too but my jacket is holding up great. Another bonus about this jacket is that is you're a weirdo vegan like me the jacket is 100% free of any animal products like down or wool. Because of the material it's made of all that dog hair just slides right off and it doesn't seem to absorb smells (camp fire/ cigarette smoke)too much either. I love it.

Live in Colorado and it gets -40 sometimes and this jacket keeps me warm and toasty and it is extremely comfortable, can't wait to go snowboarding.

I bought one for myself a year ago and bought another one again this year for my gf. It's light, warm and well-designed. The hood is also a plus, overall it's ideal for cold weather trekking.
