lightweight warmth
This jacket is very well made, and I love the color. I'm 5'8'', 145 lb, and got the large. It does run large, so I am trying to get a medium. In this brand, and many brands, I can be either medium or large. Need something suitable for travel, and this is both light and compactable.

Great jacket!
I was looking for something to wear skiing under a shell that would compress when I wanted to take it off mid day-this works! And also something to toss on when I went out with the dog, or after swimming..it's perfect. Tailored just enough to go out in, light weight enough to pack around, and warm and toasty without being overwhelming!
Fits under my Northface shell and my Columbia shell for skiing!

Excellent
Very stylish and sporty and warm. Does have a short torso, but so do I so it is perfect for me. Long sleeves are perfect for me. I am 5'8", slim and small boned with a short torso and the SMALL fits perfectly.

Great everyday jacket...perfect fit!
I bought this jacket for my wife and she loves the jacket. I received it in the mail a few days ago and she has worn it every day since. It's a nice, light, durable every day wear jacket. She is 5'2"and i bought a small and it fits her great. i would recommend this to all my friends.

She had to have one!
I bought this for my wife after she admired someone else's. We're big fans of Patagonia function and quality and this jacket promises to meet our high expectations. Key features are the light weight warmth, packability, comfortable fit, style and versatility.

Great Alternative to a Fleece
I think this jacket is a great alternative to a fleece. It has a standard fit, is exceptionally soft and very lightweight. The quilted pattern is pleasing to the eye and something different. I would not however, wear this jacket in place of a down jacket if you live in an extremely cold climate.

I love this jacket!
After getting the micropuff for my son for 3 years, I finally got one for myself and I love it. I live in Colorado and I use it 3 seasons a year. My only complaint is a little bit of fraying along the cuff. The fit is a more fitted. I am a petite 5'2" and I got the small. Most of my jackets from Patagonia are also small.

Solid Purchase
I'd recommend this jacket to anyone in the market for a synthetic down jacket. I'm excited about the fit and versatility. This will be something that I can take skiing and were around town. It runs a bit large, especially in the shoulders. I'm a small who ofter wears things a bit big and the small seems a bit large to me, but I like it. I'm 5'9" and 130. It comes with a little stuff sack, which is a bonus. The sleeves do have an elastic band, which wouldn't be my first choice, but it hasn't bother me. This is a very warm and light layer. And because it is synthetic, it will keep you warm, even if it gets wet.

great jacket but prefer the nano
I ordered this jacket and thought the appearance and fit was excellent but ultimately returned it in favor of the nano puff jacket. I felt like the micro and nano provided similar warmth and since the nano is way lighter I decided to go with it instead of the micro. With that being said, it was difficult to send back because the fit was great and the color (I ordered the blue) was beautiful.

Yummy jacket
The Micro Puff is great: incredibly lightweight, warm, and fashionable. The sleeves area a bit long but everything else is perfect. I'm 5'2" and under 100 lbs.; the cream color is lovely and it's like wearing "nothing." The diamond-pattern design is attractive and doesn't make me look "puffy," as many down jackets do. I love it. It's expensive, but I think Patagonia is worth it.

Best travel jacket
I am 5'5"/115 and wear a size 2, and the extra small is perfect! I live in Houston, TX , and while it is not extremely cold, the nights can get very chilly and windy, especially when watching my son on a baseball or track field. This jacket is perfect for that! I wanted a jacket that did not look too puffy or "wintery" for our spring nights and this is THE jacket. I am very cold natured, so I would not use this as my only winter coat. I also wanted a nice travel jacket, and this looks very nice and stylish to take me anywhere I choose to go!
I loved the jacket so much that I ordered one for my husband--and Altrec sent it in 3 days!!! I ordered him the nano puff as he is more hot- natured, but he, also, has been very chilly through his sweat shirt while on the baseball field.

My Favorite Jacket
Seriously! I take this jacket with me on every hiking, backpacking, or cross country ski trip. In cold weather, it feels luxurious to put this on--instant warmth. Yet it is so lightweight that I take it on every trip. I like that it is not down, so if the weather is wet, it still provides great insulation. When I pair this with a lightweight raincoat, it gives me a lot of flexibility to stay dry and warm in almost any weather. Well worth the price!

Micro Puff
This is a great jacket if you are trying to avoid the typical puffiness of down. It is flattering and warm and you can easily layer. The high neck keeps out wind as well as the fitted cuff. The colors are great. I highly recommend this micro puff jacket.

Great go everywhere jacket
This jacket has a wonderful fit - buy your regular size and it has a nice neat fit, or buy a size up for more layering, it is lightweight, but very warm. I find it to be very versatile and wear it both to work and on casual days off or for outdoor exercise.

Runs large, colors off
Ordered the royal blue, looks much cheaper in person. Mesh lining on the interior gives the jacket a sporty look. I was hoping for something more sylish to wear casually as well as for sports. I ordered and XL and it is BIG. I am 5'7 size 14. Large would have been fine. Aso, the sleeves are very long (even on model) and I was not a fan of the elastic cuffs at wrists (I can't stand the sesation of something tight around my wrist, like bracelet). Do not order up in size is my final suggestion, this is a light weight (yet warm) coat and only looks funny if it is too large. I am going to order the North Face Thunder jacket in purple size Large instead. I love Altrec.com and the staff are VERY helpful. Patagonia is generally a great brand, this particular stlye just did not work for me. Thanks.

Great Buy!
This jacket is so comfortable and keeps you very warm. To be such a thin jacket the loft keeps you incredibly warm. The color looks great and I am getting so many wonderful compliments. It was a great buy for the money.

better than the nano (for me)
i bought both this micro puff and the nano jacket bc i couldnt decide which one i like better. in the end i wear this one more. both of them instantly turn any jacket i have into a warm winter jacket. but i like the micro puff more bc it has a matte fabric on the outside and a nicer quilting pattern. the nano is too shiny and looks sometimes like a plastic bag. but the nano is great for minimum puff under tighter fitting coats that i have. just wore the micro puff with the snowbelle jacket snowboarding in stowe, VT... and it was the perfect combo... great on a 20 degree day and also a 3 degree day!

Great Jacket
I purchased this jacket to replace the one I lost. My old jacket was from a major competitor. This jacket is far better than my previous jacket. It is a great fit (I am a true medium), more light weight and very warm. It is great in the wind and perfect for 30 degree weather. I used it for running in the low 20's, with just one shirt layered underneath. It is also durable. I have brushed against many sharp objects and the coat has not sustained any damage. I love this jacket!!

RUNS BIG!
There are several styles it seems this year that seem to be running excessively big and this was one of them- I had to return it!
December 4, 2010
I was skeptical that this coat would be very warm because it is so light-weight but I was pleasantly surprised. I wore it all last winter and was never cold! I really lke that it is warm without being bulky. It does run small in my opinion, I am 5'6" 125 pounds and the medium fits me perfectly with some room to wear a sweater or sweatshirt underneath.

Sleek, Warm & Lightweight
Love everything about this coat - from the styling, to the inside pockets, the stuff sack and it's made of recyclable materials. It's warm, lightweight, windproof and I'm really diggin' the narwhal grey. I have a similar red coat that's several years old now and it shows the dirt/grim from everyday wear that won't rinse out, I think the grey option will hide that well. I also love the exaggerated diamond shape stitching, makes it more modern than the regular ole puffy coat construction. I think it will be great for the drizzly, mild Oregon winter.

Lightweight and toasty
Took this as a mid layer for the Himalayas and it was nice and warm. It's nice enough to wear as an outer layer in the city without looking like the stay-puff marshmallow man, and thin enough to wear under a waterproof shell or rain jacket. Overall, a very versatile and flatteringly-cut jacket.

very pleased with this jacket!
this jacket is surprisingly warm for its weight. It is extremely compressible so will work well for hiking. It looks nice enough to wear around town as well. It blocks wind- have not tried it in the rain yet. I am 5 ft. 4 in. and the small fits perfectly and is large enough to fit a light weight fleece under. The stuff sack is a plus as well. You will not be disappointed.

Fabulous
I absolutely love this jacket- perfect for layering and I wear it over the Patagonia R2 and when i'm coaching skiing, I wear a heavier ski jacket over it. Finally, it looks really really cute on- not bulky- very flattering and the color is awesome.

Light weight warmth, very versatile garment, nice cut and lines
Brought the jacket for a gift. She was surprised how warm the jacket was in our Chicago winters. Nice feminine cut with great sleeve lenght. Being tall, it's hard to get the right length of sleeve.

Great synth. down jacket for Pacific NW
Gave it as a gift. Not romantic but ultra practical. She's warm and therefore she's happy. Great synth. down jacket for Pacific NW. Keeps you nice and warm in our mild/damp climate. Packs small and can easily be incorporated in layering system. Wear it over poly baslayers, maybe even a thin pile layer. Or where it under a waterproof shell. Fits both ways. Best used for: keeping warm in climbing downtimes (belaying, waiting, camp, etc.), when active on cold days (20ish temps and a bit lower), cruising town, and lowering heating bills in the house.

Great gift for my wife
She loves the warmth of down without the big pillow look of feathers. stitching creates a great "slimming" look--her words, not mine.

looks good
I really liked the look of the coat. It is a very cool blue color. Fit really well but decided to look for a down coat instead as this one is synthetic.

Superb warm and lightweight windproof synthetic jacket
This Micropuff jacket is superb: very warm despite its lightweight. The fabric feels soft against skin, and protects against wind and light rain. It cuts feminine too. I've been a fan of Patagonia Micropuff product lines. Know many family members and friends who are very satisfied with them. Top notch products. It is only the outer fabric is not meant to be brushed against abrasive objects such as rocks when you are having outdoor activities. Apart from that, it looks nice: both in the field and in town, or at home

Warm and lightweight jacket
This jacket is great. It packs better than a fleece yet is so much warmer and wind resistant. For crisp mornings and evenings is ideal and then you can squeeze it into your back pack until then. I love Patagonia clothes for being so practical.

Order one size up
I am 5'3" 125 lbs wear a size 4 jean and small top so I ordered a small jacket. Well it was too small even with just a tee underneath. My advice is to save yourself a return and just order one size up.

Disappointed in fit.
It's warm and a nice color ( winter sky ) however, it is not fitted. There is no shape at the waist and it makes me feel sloppy. I am 5'4" and weigh 119lbs.

Wears like a warm sweater. Functional and cute.
I've been wanting this jacket since wearing my husbands micropuff. My priority in a jacket is comfort, fit, warmth, weight, style and quality at a "fair" price. This jacket is all of these things except the ASKING price. I gave it four stars because of the $180 retail price which I did not pay. I got it on sale here at Altrec for less than half that. So for me it is the perfect jacket at the price I paid Also my husbands micropuff was constructed of different materials with primaloft insulation. I don't know that the "recycled" materials in this jacket are going to hold up as well as his did. I'm a bit skeptical. Only time and wear will tell. All in all I truly LOVE this jacket and would highly recommend it at a fair asking price or if it's on sale.

This is the best jacket there is!
Ultra lightweight and keeps you warm even when it's wet. I absolutely love this jacket and I have both hooded and non-hooded. Also makes a great camp pillow with included stuff sack! Just keep it away from the campfire, it melts easy.

True to its word...
Very warm, yet lightweight. It holds true to everything it says it is - windproof, extremely warm, light... Haven't tried it out in the rain yet. I would prefer it a little longer so that it reaches my hips rather than sits at my waist. Other than that, it's a good jacket...

Great Jacket; warm and light.
I purchased this jacket for my Mom. She loves everything about it. It's warm, light, wind proof, and the DWR finish resists light rain, snow and occasional spills of coffee! Patagonia rocks!

Super warm!
Bought this for my daughter who used it at 17,000 ft in Nepal. She loved it and said it was toasty warm. Only wish it were maybe a couple inches longer in the torso. Great as well for going out on the town for dinner on a chilly night as the cut is very feminine.
