So, I'm in the awful position of being too large for a medium and too small for the large. I own the morning glory dress, the older style, and liked that one. This style is better to wear with a cardigan, but I picked the coral color and it is terrible. A hazard orange that I can't imagine would look good on anyone. I've reordered the dress in large and in black. I'm 5'8'' and 150 lbs.

I was a little hesitant to buy a halter dress with my shape but was pleasantly surprised at the fit of this dress. We are headed to Arizona and can't wait to wear it. Great quality.

Best Dress for Concerts, Weddings, Park Days!
I abso-fricki-lutely LOVE this dress!! I get sooo many compliments on it! Everytime I wear it, I tell people what kind of dress it is and where to find it: altrec.com of course!! I have it in 2 colors, the pink and blue. Pink's my fav but the blue is growing on me. So comfy and you never have to worry about it being too wrinkled!

Just a really great dress
- travels well but wrinkles a bit in the luggage (so wear it on the plane!)
- can adjust cleavage level by adjusting the tie at the neck
- very versatile - can be dressed up or down
- the fit is really near perfect
- material is very comfortable, breathes well, and wears well
- the length is great for tall gals (I'm 5'10")

I love my new dress. The fit is flattering - I am 5'6", 138 lbs and I got the medium. I can see wearing this during the day and then dressing it up with a fun wrap and accessories. I will travel internationally with this dress and hope to wash it in the sink and let dry out.

Comfortable Dress!
This is a very comfortable dress! The fit is very flattering too. I am 5'7 and about 140 and the medium fits me well. It was a little low cut at first but I was able to fix that by adjusting the halter tie. I think the legth is a little long, it comes only very slightly above my knees but it still looks very nice and it wouldn't be difficult at all to hem it 2 inches. The bali blue is beautiful!

I love this dress!
Now I just hope we get some warm weather so I can wear it. I bought the blue and I think the color would be flattering on many skin tones. The dress is sexy yet practical at the same time. With a built in bra you don't have to worry about dealing with that while wearing a halter. The fabric hits that right mix of being heavy enough, but not too heavy. I'm 5'6" 125 lbs and the dress in size small fit nicely, and came to my knees. I am thinner through the torso and then a little bigger in the hips, so the style skimmed my body nicely. If you are the same size as I am, but carry more of you weight up top, you might want the medium.

different morning glory dress, but just as great!
I was hesitant about trying this dress, as I loved the old morning glory dress style, with the tie at the back instead of the neck. This new style turned out to be just as much of a winner. It is a bit shorter than the previous style, which actually is better. The tie of this one is at the neck, but very comfortable. The fit is true to size and the style is a classic halter. The material is stretchy and not too thin at all. It seems very well made. The blue is a beautiful and vibrant color. I think that it is supportive enough to wear without a bra, making it a great summer dress.

awesome!
This dress is super versatile. You can wear it over a swim suit with flip flops or dress it up with heels--either way it will look gorgeous! The material is so soft, but it doesn't look like it will "pill," nor is it too light. I'm 5'4" 125 lbs. and the medium fits just perfectly, hitting right at mid-knee. The Storm color is even better in person--kind of blue-gray, really pretty. Even though there is no internal bra, the cut of the dress (high empire waist) provides a bit of support.

Short length is better
I love this dress - fits beautifully and flatters more than the longer length. The new length is perfect for me at 5'3", might be too short for taller ladies. The fabric is thinner than in past years so it may not be as durable, and is probably a bit less forgiving of figure flaws. I will definitely order another one.

Worth every penny
This dress is awesome. I read the reviews online before buying it and everything was true....the dress is comfortable, well-made and extremely versatile. I plan to bring this dress as my one "dress-up" outfit on our upcoming trip to Southeast Asia for 5 weeks. Buy this dress- it is worth every penny

Such a cool comfy dress
This dress is great!! You can dress it up and wear it out at night or throw flip flops on and wear it to the park. It is very comfortable and flattering. It fits very nice on top and the bottom gives you room to move but still look good. I love it!!!!

Best dress I've ever bought
This dress is fabulous! It looks great, feels great, is pretty true to size - a little big up top (and I'm a little big up top myself) but nothing that can't be fixed with a quick alteration.
I loved it so much I bought another one in a different color. I have yet to be disappointed with Patagonia, and this dress is no exception. It can be dressed up or down, great for a variety of occasions.

Excellent anytime dress
I first bought the dress in black, I loved it so much I recently bought two more dresses. The fusion sunset (note: it is actually orange-not the red hue as it appears online) and the Earthenwear. The fabric is so soft and comfy and very sexy too. A pashmina can really dress it up and it looks great as a beach dress too. Very versatile - certainly a must have! I am 5'10" and I normally wear a size 8 or 10 and the medium fits great. Lots of room in the seat area due to the A-frame style. Hope you enjoy your Patagonia morning glory dress as much as I do.

I don't wear skirts EVER but for traveling, I always throw one in my bag "just in case." Well, this has become THE skirt - can you believe, I just bought a second one! It worked for a beach wedding, a night in a ski town (in the summer of course) and "fancy pizza" in the WA backwoods - nothing like it! A must have!

Fits like a glove
I love this dress because it's both slimming and form-fitting. Something about the fit is just very flattering and sexy, without being too revealing. Keep in mind that the length is actually quite long (past the knees). Overall a worthwhile purchase!

feminine, sporty and dressy
This is a very versatile dress. It can be slipped on after swimming or worn out on the town with accessories, a shawl, a shrug, etc. It is slimming, and stretchy yet not clingy. The Northern Light is a gorgeous color!

slimming, extremely comfortable dress!
This is my first purchase at Altrec. I am 5'4', 145 lbs., and the medium was a little snug, so the Large is my size. I love the fabric, which is silky and yet not revealing. It drapes gracefully, and swings. The blue color is delicious!

Love,Love this dress. I have had many heads turn wearing this.The fit is perfect for me as I have broad shoulders and no waist.The only thing I had to do was shorten the length.The fabric is very comfortable and keeps you cool in the humid weather.The colors are true to what is shown.

Nice but not for me
I give this dress 4 stars even though I sent it back, because I think it has the potential to be very flattering, and it is well-made. As is usual with Patagonia, I'm sometimes in between sizes, which leads to neither a small nor a medium fitting perfectly. I'm 5'8", 135lb, 34b; lean but muscular build. In this dress, the small felt a little tight, and the medium felt like too much fabric in the bodice area. Both fit fine in the bust. The main issue though is that I have broader climbing shoulders, and the thicker straps stemming from the bust area accentuate the broadness of my shoulders in an unflattering manner. It's too bad, because this is a great dress that has wonderful versatility, and I had such high hopes I'd love it in every way, based upon so many other positive reviews.

Beautiful
I just got the Northern Light Morning Glory dress, to add to my collection of five or so of the same dresses in other colors. The color is great -- my new favorite. What can I say about this dress that hasn't already been said? I wish it didn't have that knot in back that looks goofy under sweaters, because then I could wear this dress all year round. It is incredibly flattering, though I can see how some might find it a bit low cut in the chest. Although there are some Patagonia dresses in which a medium is too small for me (Margot and Eva Luna), the Morning Glory fits me perfectly in medium -- probably because the back is open and my broad back and shoulders are the main issue with the others. I am 5'9", 145 lbs., muscular build with broad shoulders and not much of a waist. But even at 40 after 3 kids, I feel pretty in this dress!

So far I really like this dress. The fabric feels great on my skin and I think it will keep me comfortable in hot weather. Love the tie at the back so you can get a more customized fit.

My favorite dress(es)!
Okay, I now have 4 of these dresses, all in different colors. I love them because they are sporty and go great with Chacos, but with the right earrings and sandals, they can be quite a bit dressier, too. I like the adjustable back tie-- it is sometimes tighter, sometimes looser, depending on how I'm feeling that day. The neck is wide and soft enough that it doesn't get annoying after a few hours like some halter dresses do. In addition, I don't need a bra since this dress is nice and supportive throughout. The best part, though, is the fabric. I LOVE going to music festivals and concerts in the summer. I can get this dress wet (water, beer, playing in the river, whatever) and it dries really quickly. I am 5'7" and about 135 pounds-- but broad-shouldered--and am very happy with a medium. My friends tell me that this dress is SEXY! A+!

Amazing dress
I was most concerned about fit with this dress so I ordered a medium and a small and ended up sticking with the small. I'm 5'6", 138lbs and my chest is on the larger side. The small hugged my hips/stomach a bit better than the medium which looked slightly tent-like. The tie-back design is amazing for providing support and the halter doesn't dig into my neck like most halter styles. The dress hit just a bit below knee length which is perfect for me. I highly recommend this dress for someone who wants an easy, go-to outfit for casual and dressy events alike.

Comfortable dress!
This is a great dress, very comfortable - both the fabric and the cut. I was slightly disappointed at first because I ordered the fusion sunset because it looked red in the picture but when I received it, the dress l was orange. However, I exchanged it for the the northern lights color which looks very nice.

Like most things Patagonia, the quality of this piece is very high--it fits well, washes well, wears well. It's not quite the knee-length they say, but then, it's hard to predict where dresses will fall on taller folks!

Great quality - not flattering for all
I'm pretty sure I'm keeping this dress. It looks great on ladies who are more flat-chested. I'm busty (34DD) and have narrow hips and small legs - the Medium fits well but it just doesn't look as cute on me as it does on a friend of mine with a very athletic build (pear-shaped) and a smaller chest. Anyway, I think I might keep it and wear it in the summer with a bikini top underneath for some added support.

Super Comfy, Great Fit
I bought this dress for my girlfriend and she LOVES it. She wore it to a rehearsal dinner, then a few days later wore it to an outdoor picnic. It's incredibly versatile and she says the stretchy fabric keeps her cool and comfortable.

Too fitted
I am normally a small in Patagonia, and I felt this dress was too fitted. The material is thin, so a bra is necessary, but there is no shelf bra, and a traditional bra cannot be worn with this dress. I have narrow shoulders, and this dress is not flattering for someone built small like me.

don't believe the hype. It's good but not great.
I was surprised at how warm the fabric is -- all the reviews say it's great for hot weather. It's 80 degrees and I am burning up in this thing -- good thing I'm not in New Orleans or AZ! The fit is flattering, but the knot in back is a problem with coverups as others have mentioned. I also have a problem with the h[alt-er ]-- though my bust and neck are small, the h[alt-er ]is just tight enough to make it feel like it's pushing my head forward. Also, the dress is great for small busted ladies in that you don't need a bra -- but the h[alt-er ]is really thick and compressive and makes your boobs look smaller than they actually are. I have no idea how a large-breasted woman could wear this without the h[alt-er ]digging into her neck. I'm much happier with the "Travel Everywhere" dress I got at Athleta -- the fabric is nicer and the dress is much more comfortable -- and it's easier to put a shirt or cardigan over. I wanted this to be my Everything dress but it's just not. It's okay though. :-/

Great dress - I have it in 3 colors now
Very comfortable and flattering. I get compliments every time I wear it. I was a little worried that it would be too long. It is longer than the knee length styles I usually wear. I'm 5' 5" and it hits me just below the mid calf. Nice for travel -I usually carry a light wrap to put on if I want to cover up a bit.

Too long, but great dress!
The fit is beautiful, though the length is too long. I get compliments a lot when I wear this dress. I'm 5'5", 130 pounds, and a large C-cup. I bought the medium but could have gone for the small. I had the dress shortened to above my knee - adorable!

Awesome fit every time you put it on!
I reach for this dress every time I enter my closet. Great fit and drape. I bought the small in black and can wear it for any occasion. Looks good with one of those new style multi-colored scarves, a wrap for evening or a little jewelry. Plus after gentle washing the color holds true. big plus with black!

Fantastic dress for an outdoor wedding
I tried on a number of dresses for an outdoor family wedding and my boyfried and I agreed that this was the best one of all of them. It drapes well, not too clingy but flattering, especially with the tie option in the back. I have olive skin and I decided to go with the Afterglow, which shows off tan skin beautifully. The only downside to the dress is the size of the know in the back for the tie strap. If you are sitting on a hard chair back, it will get pretty uncomfortable in a hurry. I can't wait for the wedding to come so I can wear it all the time.

Not for petites
I tried this dress on over and over hoping that it would fit, but it didn't. It was really just too big for my 5' height and my 32A bust. However, the fabirc was great, I LOVED the orange color, more of a "burnt sienna" -- if I could have made it work I would have.

I'm 5'9", 135 lbs and the small fits like a charm. Easy to wear and wash. I had tons of complements on it the first time I wore it. I also agree that it could be dressed upfor a night on the town or downon a trail hiking. Get this dress! The best $65 I've spent in a while.

I put this dress on and said now I know why the reviews say it's the best dress for just about anyone. Very, very flattering in all the right places. (and really, you don't need to wear anything else under it). My second dress of this style. About 5'8" 140# and M was right-on for fit. Would flatten out that tie to make it perfect.

Versatile
One of the best dresses I own as it can be dressed up or down. Small fits perfectly on my 5' 7", 125-130 pound frame. The tie in the back can be uncomfortable if you are sitting for long periods of time.

Wonderful fit
I have owned this dress in black for three years and it is one I turn to whenever I am in doubt what to wear. Whether it is traveling, running errands around town, or going to a wedding, this dress works perfectly. I am 5'6". weight 145 to 150 lbs, am muscular, and a medium fits well.

I got this dress in the Northern Light blue- which is beautiful. I love the fit. I'm an A/B bust and feel comfortable not wearing a bra. I'm 5'3" and it hit just below the knee (tea-length). I will wear this dress often
