Women's Nine Trail Shorts
March 05, 2012

I can't comment yet on the durability, since I have only worn these shorts a couple of times. I can say the quality of the fabric is outstanding compared to other brands, and that the fit is perfect for any outdoor adventure. As a trail ultra-runner, I can say that I love the front pockets. Even though they do not zip shut, anything you put in there stays put and it doesn't rub on your leg. I think the way they sew the pockets forces your favorite items to remain in place. "No bouncing around, awesome!" The other nice aspect is that you don't have to fumble around with zippers, just stick your hand straight in your pocket and you have immediate access. If you are wearing a hydration system with bottles on your hip or back you can still utilize these pockets for small items like gels, chapstick, etc., as the belt strap is above the opening to the pockets. It's like having extra storage space with the hydration system. Not to mention, you still have the zip pocket in the back for keys or long-term storage on that long run. The nice thing about this pocket is that it sits above the waist a bit also preventing too much bounce. Hope this helps AT

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, Cons: Cost

Glad I stocked up
September 26, 2007

Was surprised when I opened them---didn't seem like much short for the money. They didn't weigh anything, just not much to them. But it turns out that's what I love about this short. Lightweight material is strong and stretchy, even the built-it panty, dries extremely fast, great for body movement and feel. The pockets are great, and since I couldn't decide which color I wanted I ordered two pair, and glad I did!

Love them!
July 14, 2011

I am using these for distance trail-running in the heat. You can barely tell you're wearing them. Pocket is large enough for gel. Storm color is very cool. Haven't tested the durability because I just got them, but if they're like any other Patagonia product, they'll last a lifetime.

Lightweight, lots of pockets
June 04, 2011

Very lightweight, they definitely won't chafe on a long run. I love the pockets, which there are plenty. There is even a zippered pocket to secure valuables. I wasn't hot on the liner thing when I got the shorts, but I am slowly warming up to it. On a hot day, the airy-ness of the liner makes a difference. Finally, the shorts provide just the right amount of coverage and length.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use

Great Running Shorts
August 05, 2008

I ordered them for the longer length. When I got them I was not sure whether to keep them or not. I ordered the small ( I wear a 4) and they felt smaller then what I usually wear. I love all the pockets. the waistband could be softer, that's why the 4 rating. Otherwise they are great, no chafing, no riding up - even after a 7 mile run. I am ordering a second pair...

These Shorts Are Fantastic!
July 21, 2011

I am bummed Patagonia is sold out of these in my size. I have 4 pairs and wanted to get a couple more. These are 'THE' perfect short. Light weight, longer with the 5" inseam, love the built-in is literally cool on hot, humid days. Who wants to be wearing sticky underwear in the summer. I also use these shorts for water sports and swimming. The zipper back pocket is ideal for keeping keys safe and again, the built-in panty makes these shorts go from land to water with ease. I hope Patagonia brings this style back next summer so I can get more.

Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, built in panty liner

Great Shorts!

I love these shorts - and the length is great for a woman who is not a youngster anymore!

Functional and Feminine

Great coverage without being bulky. A great running short which can double as a great tennis short, holding 2 balls per pocket easily.

Love these shorts!! Long enough to cover junk that needs covered but light enough to dry quickly. I just ordered my 3rd pair.
