Description

Packable, lightweight, and waterproof, the Patagonia Rain Shadow Jacket for women is the one jacket you’ll use whether you’re cruising the Alaska coastline on the deck of a ferry, hiking the Inca trail in Peru, or biking/island hopping in the San Juans. Made from 2.5 layer nylon with a waterproof/breathable H2No® barrier and a Deluge® DWR finish, you’ll stay dry so you can enjoy your adventure. Inside is a textured surface that reduces the clammy sauna feel that other rain jackets might get and helps to channel any moisture away from your skin. Pit zips help vent heat and a roll-down adjustable hood has a visor to help visibility in a downpour. Two unlined zippered hand pockets on the Patagonia Women's Rain Shadow Jacket are placed out of the way of your hipbelt so you have access to maps while backpacking.

Women's Rain Shadow Jacket 4.5 5 17 17
Great Jacket Impervious to all elements, this jacket is perfect for all outdoor wear. I often wear it just around the house, because with a Capilene layer, it is pretty insulating, and for being so water/wind proof, it is really soft. However, the fit is a little strange. Perhaps it is just me, (I am 5'4") but it is pretty long, and kind of boxy looking. Also the sleeves ARE huge around the armpit; I can fit both of my arms in one with plenty of room to spare. I guess this is for ease of movement, but for my purposes, it is just a bother. But it's performance is unbeatable, and it is everything that is gloated in the description. Plus gigantic arms. Great rain jacket I walk my dog everyday for 2 hours, regardless of the weather. This rain jacket is fantastic, lightweight but very good at repelling rain (and wind). It has lots of zippered air vents to prevent overheating. The fit was perfect (medium for 5'7" 140 lbs). I liked it so well that I bought the mens version for my husband. December 19, 2011
ideal for..3season jackets i have some of jackets ..waterproof and breathable functions using such as gore-tex , epic , event , ... each has pros. and cons. the best is gore-tex i think. but it's bulky in wearing and packing ..except winters. patagonia's H2NO fabric is great in function and others. it's similar abilities in other fabircs. so its good in 3seasons except winter saeson. i strongly recommanded... Great Rain Jacket I purchased this rain jacket in April and it has been well worth the money. It is loose enough to fit over a fleece on cool days, and doesn't feel to hot on warm days. Unlike many plastic feeling jackets that don't breath and makes you feel all clammy, this jacket doesn't make you too hot. I have worn it several times, and have NEVER gotten wet. I spend many rainy days walking my dog for almost an hour, and have never remained dry. I would HIGHLY recommend this jacket!! Patagonia is a brand you can trust!! August 15, 2011
Awesome Product! As usual Patagonia doesn't disapoint! Very lightweight rain jacket with no annoying wind breaker noise. 100% water and wind proof and adjustable to fit your needs. Relax fit so it isn't very form fitting for the ladies, but that makes it a great layering peice. May 18, 2011
So far so good I have had the Rain Shadow for a few months and so far it is holding up pretty well. I got the extra small and it fits over my North Face down jacket. It was a great combination for dealing with the cold and wind chill here in the city. It definitely keeps me dry in a moderate rain storm; however, I haven't tested yet in a downpour. The overall fit is good but it fits a bit large. I guess it's so that you can have some stuff underneath. The only complaint I have is the zipper. It takes a little bit more effort to zip the jacket up. I do like the fact the jacket is lightweight. It helps to keep the pack weight down while traveling. March 24, 2011
This jacket stinks, literally. I have the torrentshell by patagonia and got the rain shadow as a more heavy duty shell. I love my torrentshell really really dislike the rain shadow. I am sure the jacket holds up to being water repellent or better, as my torrentshell does. This jacket however stinks, it literally has a smell that is foul. I don't know why, the torrent shell didn't. My other complaint about this jacket is the pit zips, they are really stiff, and there is an odd pocket of air that is made. The pit zips really make it uncomfortable. The color is nice, and I would have considered keeping it, if it just didn't have the smell. January 31, 2011
Can't go wrong with Patagonia Bought this for my daughter and she loves it, very comfy and good looking on; haven't put it to the hurricane test yet fabric appears very durable. December 13, 2010
Fantastic! I bought this jacket because I was sick of getting drenching while wearing my old rain coat. I stood in the rain for over an hour once and stayed nice and dry. I'm 5'10'' and 145 pounds and wear a small. Normally I wear a medium so i'd say the sizing runs a bit small. I can wear a fairly heavy fleece with ease. The only thing to keep in mind is that this is only a rain shell and won't keep you warm is it's cold and windy, just dry, so make sure you have something to wear under it to keep you warm. nice shell fits very well, looks great, seems durable. everything I expect in Patagonia. September 6, 2010
Great jacket except not smooth zipper Everything is nice except zipper, which doesn't slide very smooth. I hope the more I use, the smoother it gets. It is very light which is very convenient to put into the small backpack for biking. It makes me more enjoyable to go out without any worry of the weather changing. August 25, 2010
Was just what I was looking for. I ordered a Large, but it seemed to be a little big. Probably OK if you are wearing heavier clothes underneath. August 14, 2010
Great jacket - I ordered too small I'm usually a size 12-14 and for some reason (denial), I thought the medium would work for me. It didn't, but it's a great jacket. Once I got the larger size I love - easy to pack and love the pit zips. May 3, 2010
Excellent jacket This jacket fit very nicely. It was great in wet weather, yet comfortable and fashionable. I would recommend this jacket very much. March 29, 2010
All-Around Great Shell Stylish and Competent Water Proof Shell. December 28, 2009
Great Buy I bought this jacket a month ago for my trip to Italy and it was a great purchase! I ordered a small and medium and kept the small...the medium was big overall and the sleeves were really long. Fits great without looking bulky, but you could easily put a fleece or sweatshirt underneath for additional warmth. It's a great jacket for the cold and rainy NY fall we are having :) October 7, 2009
love it, very comfortable price is excellent July 23, 2009
