Great coat
January 26, 2012
This is a great coat so far. I haven't had a chance to take it out on the slopes yet, but Ive worn it around as a regular winter coat and its great. Very warm, but light weight, and lots of pockets (and pit zips!) I'm 5'5" 130 lbs, athletic build, and the small fits well. Other reviewers say it runs large or the sleeves are long, but its a ski jacket, meant to be worn with other layers, so I say its TTS. Definitely recommend!
Pros: Great design, Build qualityI'll keep trying

Sadly it was to was too long. Very unflattering for my 5'3",120 frame. The xs was fitted showing a curve here and there (32B) and 27 waist, and the s fit a bit roomer a more boxer look.
nice coat

This jacket is great! Can't wait to snowboard in it, I'm sure it will keep me very warm. Wouldn't mind if it was a tiny bit longer, but nice fit overall.
Great City/Outdoor Winter Jacket
October 27, 2012
I absolutely love this jacket from Patagonia! I got the deep plum color from last season because it is best among all. It fits well and keeps me warm. It is stylish enough to wear in the city and yet keeps me warm skiing, hiking, climbing outdoor. I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Great valuelove it

my husband has the mens version and loved it, so he bought me one. I'm usually always cold in the winter, this jacket allows me to go hiking in the snow, play out side with my dog and kids all without complaining about being cold. I highly recommend it, both for fit, comfort and utility.
Extremely well made and warm!

Bought it for camping... I am petite, so the arms were a little long for me, but the velcro around the wrist worked out fine. Like it so much, bought another one in red!
Rubicon Review
August 31, 2011
I've been looking for the Patagonia Rubicon for a while now. Luckily Altrec still had it in stock! I was looking for a winter coat to use as a snowboarding/multi use jacket. After some research I settled on the Rubicon. In terms of warmth, it provides excellent protection against the elements..though it's a tad on the structured side. If you're looking for a grab and go jacket this may not be the best choice. However, if you're looking for a well constructed, sturdy, and well designed jacket, the Rubicon is it! I recommend it highly!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great valueGreat jacket

roomy, no sweat, bright white color is very classy. Large is a roomy size 12. I am a 12tall and I usually go for a 14 for the arm length and shoulder fit, but this is the most comfortable jacket.
Great jacket to wear for all weather conditions.

This jacket is light in weight, but keeps you very warm. The fit is true to size with enough room to layer underneath. The hood is the perfect fit to keep the head warm removable when its too hot. I like to wear this jacket when the weather is cold and windy.

Great Features
March 31, 2011
This is another fantastic product from Patagonia...such high quality. It has really great features that I was looking for like the pit zips, adjustable hood (detatchable), very wam, and isn't overboard 'ski jacket' looking (would look nice around town off the slopes as well). I also like that it is a bit longer than other jackets. I think this jacet runs true to size. I'm 5'6", 120 lbs with a small upper-body frame, and the XS was the right size for me (I'm XS in all Patagonia items). All around, a great jacket to invest in.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performancebetter try it on before making your purchase

I bought this for my daughter who rides her bike to school. I liked its length. But it feels a little heavier than I expected it to be, and the size runs a little big, - or just that it would be perfect when it fits nicely around the body. I do think the jacket is only designed for some particular body type.

I haven't gotten to hit the slopes in this great jacket, but it's the warmest, best looking thing I've worn that's also incredibly functional.

just wanted something longer , true to size, lightweight and WARM!
love it!
February 04, 2009
I searched high and low for a cute jacket that would keep me warm in this bitter cold Wisconsin winter. I have yet to get cold...even when its -20. (now I just need to find something to cover the rest of my body.) The fit is great, I usually have to go up a size to get the length in the arms right...but not with this jacket.
stylish and warm

Great jacket that keeps you warm without the bulk. Colors are true and the length in torso is good. Only complaint is the arms are long. Had to go one size down so the arms fit better. Otherwise the warmth, especially around the head and neck is awesome!
Fashionable and functional!

I just received this jacket and love it! I have yet to use it, as it's summer, but am looking forward to wearing it once it's cold. I'm 5'4", 130 lbs and got the Medium. I probably could've gotten the small but I wanted to allow plenty of room for layering. The fit is flattering and it's very warm.
Like it, but...
March 05, 2009
I've been looking at this jacket for weeks and finally decided to try it. I have a bunch of Patagonia outerwear fleeces and a rain jacket all in Medium, but this Medium is huge! I couldn't believe it. I'm about 5'8", 130 lbs & even with layers on underneath, and tightening the drawcord on the bottom hem, I couldn't get in tight enough. I know Patagonia has different fits, and this is one of their "Regular" fits, as opposed to a "Slim" fit, which maybe my other stuff is. I'm pretty bummed; I want to love this jacket! And there aren't any Smalls left :(
Can't wait to try it on the hill!
April 26, 2013
Now I know I hate reviews where people get the product and then say they haven't worn it out yet, and I'm about to wear one. But honestly, it's April, I'm done skiing for the season, and I'll update this review in the fall. I got my jacket today and I absolutely LOVE it. It's very flattering, form fitting and pretty true to size (I'm 5'4 and 140 pounds, it fit perfectly but was a tiny bit tighter than I like in the waist, although that's probably my fault for not going to the gym enough!) I also naturally have hips wide enough to birth an elephant, so the fact that a medium fit me so perfectly was actually awesome, that's usually where I run into problems. It's also REALLY warm. I put it on in my living room and within about a minute I could already feel that this is going to be awesome on the hill next year. This is definitely going to be my go-to coat! It's also definitely solidly built, it doesn't look like it's going to fall apart anytime soon.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great valueDid you recently buy the Patagonia Rubicon Rider Jacket? Write a review.
Awesome!

This jacket was a present for my wife... she absolutely loves it! The cold blustery winters of North Idaho can be relentless and frigid. She went from hating the cold and the snow, to LOVING being exposed to the elements! The jacket is THAT warm!! The sizing tends to run a little on the large side, so buy a size down if you are on the fence. Definitely worth every penny!
Love the jacket..

Bought it for snowboarding. I liked the look, the fit, and how warm it is. Great buy.
Love it.
October 17, 2008
Great jacket but a little too big. I bought a large, I am 5'11, but the sleeves are long. Other than that I love it. Great jacket.
Made for a crossing the Rubicon experience
December 27, 2007
I bought the Patagonia: Rubicon Rider Jacket for a friend, she loves the fit, and raves about its performance. It's warm, enables free movement, and perfect for windy mountain conditions. Great in both powder and wet snow.
great jacket
August 07, 2009
nice warm down jacket, not so poofy it makes you look huge. I got the pink color, it's awesome (if you're after really girly). I would say it runs a bit big. I'm 5'10" and not particularly thin and the medium fits me fine, and the arms are roomy and long.
Great coat for skiing
January 23, 2012
Worn my coat a couple of times. I love the liner on the collar - it is cotton and feels great. Nice pockets for ski stuff. Doesn't look too rad for this 47 yr old mom skiier. Great coat all around. Warm and comfortable. the only thing I would add is cuffs inside the wrist to keep out cold air/snow.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, pockets, Cons: no inner cuff on wristSuch a great jacket!

I bought this jacket after my boyfriend and I both tried them on (and both fell in love with them!) at a local store. After getting his, I decided to go ahead and purchase one too. The store I was at only had it in black, so I came online to order the jacket in "Modern Blue." I originally wanted it in "Sunflower," which was sold out, but after receiving the jacket I am very happy with the color I ordered. I can't wait for some snow to fall so I can get out on the slopes and use it. It fits like a glove and will look great out on the town as well.
Comfy, cute and unique

I looked for a sporty coat with plenty of pockets and found this one. I am tall, so sleeve length on this is great! Got the Cherry Blossom color and I get so many compliments
Awesome jacket!
February 22, 2010
I love this jacket b/c it's warm, not too bulky, pretty lightweight and washed easily. (of course, being white, it does seem to attract dirt a little easier) On a very cold day, it's roomy enough for a thicker fleece underneath. The pockets are all well placed and handy. Plus it looks great on!
really stylish warm jacket!
January 21, 2011
It's warm without all the bulk of goosedown. I am not a skier, however, I am very cold all of the time, so wanted a happy medium between really bulky coat and warmth. An added bonus is that it's really cute with dress clothes or casual for work, etc. Recommend! One thing is it does run big. I like the longer sleeves but it you want a tight fit, go one size smaller than you normally wear.
