Great for my stuff bag
November 04, 2010
It's great when you can only pack all your stuff into a stuff bag for my photo hiking trips.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, PerformancePatagonia simple guide pants

I love them, very comfy, true to size. I put them on right out of the box and loved them. The material is fairly thin, they are light weight. I wanted something that is not as heavy duty as my heavier mountaineering pants and perform well in the spring and fall season when you don't need lots of warmth. Of course I rely on Patagonia's reputation of long lasting material. All their other products worked well for me.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueAlready own the Patagonia Simple Guide Pants? Tell us your thoughts.
Perfect Fit !!

The FIT is really what separates the simple guide pants from the others. I have tried a lot of other pants which are comparable in quality and comfort but nothing comes close with the way this pant fits. Versatile and reasonably priced. Got the medium ( 5'6, 138 lbs)
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useEverything I need from pants.

My job requires me to backpack two weeks out of the month, so I was looking for a high-quality, durable pair of hiking pants that I could use for layering in winter, or solo in spring/summer. These pants are perfect - lightweight, durable, and practical. Love the cargo pocket, love the soft lining on the inside of the waist/pockets, love the breathability and water repellancy. Normally, I wouldn't spend so much on a pair of pants, but considering the high quality and excellent warranty, these pants are worth the investment.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Great value, super comfortable, flatteringGo To Pants

Have had these simple guide pants for 2 years now. They have become my go to pants for snowshoeing, hiking, walking the dog and nice enough to wear to a casual dinner after. The fit is true to size (5'7" 125 lbs) and the fabric is flexible for range of movement. They have held up extremely well to dirt, moisture and washings. They are light and packable yet also warm enough to wear on their own 35+ degrees (any colder and I wear light thermals under). Wish they came in more colors so I could have multiple pairs. I would recommend these to anyone looking for durable, attractive, multi-use pants. Also, thrilled with Altrec and have found myself looking to them more and more often for outdoor gear needs.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of usePerfect Lightweight Softshell Pants
April 22, 2010
I was looking for a good pair of multi-purpose softshell pants to use for xc skiing, snowshoeing, winter hiking, etc and these seemed to fit the bill. I was a little nervous ordering online without trying them on (though I have had great experiences with past returns through Altrec). Luckily I was very pleasantly surprised with the fit and feel of these pants once I received them! The size M fits perfect and is flattering to my 5â8 140lb shape. The length is just right, however if they were any shorter I think Iâd be disappointedâhowever with boots the length works well. Though they are lightweight, they keep me warm in the coldest of weather with a baselayer underneath. All in all, awesome pair of multi-purpose softshell pants. Kudos Patagonia!
