At the end of an eight-mile run along the Deschutes River Trail, daylight is dimming, your stride is slowing, legs are feeling satisfyingly heavy, but the Patagonia Strider Running Shorts are dry and haven't even hinted at a chafing. Made from ultra lightweight, breathable polyester, these athletic shorts have a 3 ¼ inch inseam, an internal drawcord at the elastic waist and a comfy built-in brief that wicks and dries out fast. Mesh insets at the sides increase airflow and in internal pocket stashes your car key.

Great shorts!

These shorts feel great! Very light. Unfortunately, I will be returning for a larger size. They fit a little on the small side. They also sit low on the hips, which I prefer, but some do not like that. Overall they will be very comfortable when I get the right size. The colors are cute too!

My new favorite short!

I live in the Striders. I run in them, hike, grocery shop ... They are perfect in any situation. I love the solid colors with a splash of brightness on the side panel. They dry quickly and feel weightless. My only two suggestions are: the small is almost too small. While the medium is almost two big. I'm 130 lbs, skinny and taller and while the waist feels great on the small size, the length is way short. Ultimately I've stuck with mediums which are a little big at the waist but not so much that they are sloppy. Also, price. These are way cheaper than the nine trail short but I still believe Patagonia could be a hair more competitive in pricing on new releases.

Great running shorts

I have a few pairs of Patagonia’s similar discontinued style, the Long Haul Runners, that have been on heavy rotation over the last few years. I was looking for something as close as possible to add to my assortment, and am so glad to say that I like what I have found in the Striders. The fit is very similar—they are comfortable, sit low and are flattering. I did order a size up from my usual Patagonia bottoms size, which I also had to do in the Long Haulers. Love the color selection, also!

its hard to find running shorts that don't ride up... these are comfortable and smooth. They are a cross between a spandex short and loose fitting running short in the way that they fit. I bought them for running the TMB trail and have been testing them out. I think they will be perfect for the long days of running on the trail and will hopefully hold up well for not showering for 6 days :)
