Lightweight Running Buddy
May 19, 2011
If you're looking for a windproof jacket, this guy does the trick. I take it trail running and it doesn't overheat me like most jackets. I'm finicky about carrying unneeded gear when I run, but this jacket is super lightweight (4.7oz), and tying it around my waist doesn't bother me (though I hardly take it off). Remember, however, this jacket is water RESISTANT, not waterproof ;) Not sure how Patagonia tops size regularly, but I'm usually between a S and M in tops due to wider shoulders and this S fit perfectly.

need a petite!

This is a very nice jacket. The storm color is a lovely blue-gray and the quality seems excellent overall. However, I can't use it. Although the shoulders fit fine over an underlayer, I'm 5'2", and the jacket is about 3" too long for me in the sleeves and body. I think a petite would be just right.
Pros: Great value, Cons: too longJust what I was looking for

Great Spring jacket. Fit was good. Perfect for warm skiing days.
Nice superlight jacket

The jacket will be a great choice for running or hiking in the warmer weather. It provides a bit of wind and water resistance without the warmth. A great, affordable choice!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of useExactly what I was looking for

My girlfriend is a runner. She loves to run no matter what the weather is outside. The problem is she didn't own any type of water or wind resistant jacket. I wanted to get her something thin, breathable, and water/wind resistant so she could go out on those not so nice days. This jacket is perfect. Not too thick, not too thin. I got one size up for her because she loves to wear hoodies and this is a great water resistant layer to put over that. It also does a great job of keeping her warm when she layers it. Overall, great jacket for everything.

This jacket has a great trim fit. The fabric is very lightweight and almost silky. It is soo comfortable. The color on the website is a little off. The grey color is actually more of a slate blue. I kept it just the same though!
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of usePerfect for Chilly mornings/evenings

My wife loves the added extra layer of this jacket for cool mornings/evenings. Great for exercising and the contoured fit was a hit.
The Quality I Expect from Patagonia
October 24, 2010
I've worn this jacket on cool weather runs (approx 40 - 45 degrees Fahrenheit) when I need more then just a long sleeve shirt but less insulation then that provided by my micro puff. I love that it breathes well so I don't overheat in this jacket. I really like the cuffs on this jacket. I prefer elastic cuffs; when I pull up the sleeves they stay up without having to adjust Velcro. I also like the full zipper in the front so I don't have to pull it over my head after my run. I'm 5'8'' 130lbs and ordered a medium. It was a little looser then I expected (I usually order a Patagonia M) but decided not to exchange it for a smaller size. The loose fit is perfect for running and I appreciate that the bottom of the jacket stays in place nicely when I run. However, since the jacket is a little loose it bows out in the front when I sit down. Not too much of a concern since I won't be sitting around when I have it on.

Great versatile jacket

I was searching for a lightweight soft shell jacket and this one turned out to be the perfect three season running jacket (in winter I plan to wear it with a mid weight or lightweight merino shirt depending on the temperatures) . It blocks the wind and rain, and provides great protection but is so lightweight! The description says it is a slim fit, which I think is a bit misleading, it has a tailored shape and a flattering cut but still is roomy enough to be very comfortable. It is also versatile and has enough style to be worn for casual and not just sports (most of my other running jackets I would never wear for casual).
Pros: Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, slimming fitGreatest jacket

I like this jacket

This jacket is perfect for aerobic activity like speed walking, XC skiing, or cycling. It's not too warm since it is not insulated. I wear a long sleeve Patagonia base layer and a vest under it for the perfect mix of layers and just zip and unzip as needed. The sleeves are long enough to pull down over my hands if they get cold. I'm a pear shape and it fits true to size covering my bum without being tight. My only complaint is that it seems a bit tight in the shoulders but because it is a soft shell, it is flexible without being noisy, so I just try to ignore the shoulder thing. It's great as a windbreaker but I have yet to wear it in the snow or rain. Great color, too!

Nice jacket

Can't give it 5 stars without a field test, but it looks like a well made, as-advertised jacket. I bought it for spring backcountry skiing, and it seems to be the light and breathable outer layer I hoped for. The blue is brighter (and better) than the photos, in my opinion. My only complaint is that I would prefer a different cuff style - elastic isn't my thing - but that may have been a good weight saving decision by Patagonia.
