great for running
November 21, 2010
These pants fit true to size, great for running. I run on the treadmill so I cannot give a review on how the pants are in certain weather. They are very comfortable. You cannot put them in the dryer so they do take a while to dry but other than that they are great.Pros: Build quality
Happy To Have

Needed a pair of running pants for these SoCal winters and looked to the Pearl Izumi's. I knew from past experience that they made a great product for biking but thought I'd try them for running since I'm training for my first half marathon. Love 'em. They're sleek and silky and warm and the back pocket fits my ipod, trail map and gel. The zip legs are also fantastic and since I tend to run warm, they get used a lot. Other than that, I don't think about them much when I'm running, which is ideal. For scale, I'm 5'8" and normally wear size 5/6 and these pants fit like a glove with maybe a half inch extra on length. Still might be a bit warm for this part of the world but perfect for my native PNW. Also thinking they might be a great high altitude base layer for hiking the Sierras this summer. One way to find out!
Pearl Izumi Tights
January 25, 2011
Pearl Izumi makes a quality product which I highly recommend. I already have a pair of the Elite Thermal tights which are fleece on the inside and very warm for very cold winter sports, i.e. X-C skiing or snowshoeing. I wear them constantly and they have performed and held up beautifully. I ordered these tights so I could have another pair of the same, but these are not the same - they are not fleece on the interior and are not warm enough for cold winter temps. If you want tights for fall or spring, or do not live where you have very cold winters, these would be your choice. For winter/ snow sports get the Thermal Elite. They tend to run small. I usually wear a Small, but wear a Medium in these tights.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, great quality. great fit, ankle zips., Cons: not a cold weather tight
Best running pants ever!
December 11, 2010
These are by far the best running pants I've ever owned. I've heard of the brand but never tried them before now. Not only are they extremely comfortable they also seem to provide just the right amount of warmth. I'm based in NorCal and wear these on the foggy, rainy days and they are perfect. They provide just the right amount of support without being too tight and I haven't experienced any issues with bunching behind the knees - a problem I've had with some other brands. I would definitely buy these again.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance

Great tights for Fall running. Warm, but not heavy. I love that Pearl Izumi has a longer inseam on their pants/tights. The tights also have a longer zipper than most above the ankle.Pros: Build quality, Great value, long inseam
