It's not one of those triple-digit boutique bike jerseys, but Pearl Izumi's Women's Vertex Jersey feels a lot more comfortable than many of the performance designs out there. That's because Pearl Izumi treated the wicking MicroSensor material with a Cocona treatment that enhances the evaporative cooling and improves the overall UV protection. The Vertex also offers ergonomically shaped panels with a special Direct-Vent panel along the back and under the sleeves for better airflow. The extra long 3/4-length front zipper is great for additional venting, and Pearl Izumi did an excellent job of concealing the zipper welts when the Vertex is zippered up. If you do need additional sleeve coverage during cooler morning rides, check out Pearl Izumi's MicroSensor Thermal Arm Warmers--you can wear them early in the day and then go sleeveless as the sun starts to heat up the pavement beneath your wheels.
