Pear-shaped and multi-purpose, the Petzl AM'D Ball Lock Carabiner has a large opening that’s perfect for connecting devices to a harness or for using at the end of a lanyard. The Ball Lock gate is automatic and to open it you must press a button and turn the sleeve to unlock it. The Asymmetric shape helps save weight and keep it oriented in the optimal alignment when it is loaded. Whether you’re painting bridges, climbing trees or rock climbing with friends, this Petzl Carabiner is easy to use and dependably safe.

Quick and Easy

I have got to say, out of all the biners I've own or used over the years, this is the quickest and easiest one I've seen. The Ball-Lock is great! Only having to twist about 25 degrees, rather then the 45 on any other twist lock, means I can get it open even at odd angle where I don't have an ideal grip. Something that can be more then a little annoying when you finally topped that 70 foot lead. Plus the simplicity of just having to visually check for a green dot to know that the gate is locked is a real turn on for me.
