Great Helmet
This is the first time ordering from Altrec and boy am I happy with their service. Easy ordering and extemely fast shipping. Got my helmet 2 days after placing the order. Altrec just went to the top of my list. Did I mention that Altrec has great pricing?
As to the helmet, I am thrilled with the weight and adjustable fit of this helmet. Looks like it will keep my head protected in many different situations. I ordered the size 2 as recommended by Altrec. Looks like it will fit most average to larger heads.

Great Helmet
The first climbing helmet I've owned- so I don't have much to compare it to, but the helmet works great. I've mounted a ContourGPS camera to the right side and I've had no problems. Solid build, good fit. No complaints.

Comfortable helmet
Comfortable and lightweight helmet, especially for the price. I've owned an Elios before, but somehow misplaced it. After trying on several other helmets, I decided to get another Elios. My husband and I both bought them. I didn't like the position of the adjustable strap behind the head on the Elia -- too high, didn't feel like the helmet was secure without the chin strap. A size 2 will fit most adults. I have a pretty average sized head and the size one could fit, but looked small.

Protect your dome!
On long hot days I still forget this thing is on my head. The adjustable straps and wheel ratchet are easy to use and dial in perfect comfort. If your goal specifically lightweight they do make helmets that don't tip the scales as much. Beware, they will also show signs of abuse much quicker as a trade off. If you are looking for a comfortable, full featured noggin knocker that still has a respectable weight, look no further and buy this one!

I bought the Elios mainly to be used as a climbing helmet. I have been more than happy with it. It is well-made yet extremely light. At the end of long climb you don't even know it's there! Some people may consider this a "hard" helmet compared to a helmet such as the BD Half Dome but the Elios is still very comfortable. The highly adjustable straps make this helmet appropriate for a wide range of head sizes. (I wear a 7 1/4 hat size and wear this helmet towards the bottom of the sizing adjustment.)
I have also used the Elios caving several times where it has taken quite a beating. This stands as a testimony to its durability. The headlamp clips are superb and seem to have a far more secure design than the Half Dome.
All-in-all great helmet!

Quality helmet
The elios climbing helmet is a quality helmet with style. It fits nicely on my head. My only suggestion for improvement is that the straps need to be longer.

Worth it
I bought the anthracite "gray" one. It is a great color and is easily adjustable. It will fit great and like others have said, it has great ventilation! It is also a crazily light helmet, but I've heard it can withstand huge falls. People have also told me that it is stylish too.
All in all, a great buy and a great price for an item that might possibly save your life!

Great Helmet
This is my first rock climbing helmet so I have no comparison but its great, very comfortable, eady to adjust, durable and breathable so you will not end up all swety underneath.

Pleasantly Surprised
I had not purchased a new helmet in years and when I bought the Petzl Elios Climbing Helmet a little over a year ago I was pleasantly surprised. This helmet is so much more comfortable than my old one; it almost feels like I'm not wearing it. Yes it's light but perhaps what I like even more is the positive fit. It moves with my head instead of bobbling a bit with every turn. The venting is good and it allows enough clearance around the ears so that I can wear an ear band on chilly days. The use instructions were clear (I really like Petzl's instructional illustrations) so I had a good fit in no time.

good equipment for the price
I have had several helmets over the years(I won't mention names)and have paid twice the price for virtually the same quality helmet. I bought this one for my 12 year old Boy Scout for his first new helmet. I am also a climb instructor for the Scouts. the adjustability is as good as my higher priced helmet and is quite comfortable and very light. he had it on his head for the first time last week. 4 hours of climbing with no problem. temperature was mid to upper 80's and he said the circulation was good. I would recomend this definatly for the price.

A high quality for a good price.
I'm rather a big gay, so I bought size 2 (bigger one). I feel comfortable in it but it looks too small.
