When caught out after dark on a hiking trip or forced into a few hours of late night skiing through backcountry terrain, a quality headlamp is essential. The Petzl e+Lite Headlamp serves either as your go-to back-up if your primary headlamp fails to perform, or functions as an ultra-light lighting alternative. About the same size as a sports watch, the Petzl e+Lite Headlamp weighs slightly less than an ounce with the lithium batteries installed. Including the hard plastic carrying case, the unit weighs just 1.62 oz., a small price to pay in the weight department when illumination is all that separates you from the trailhead or a warm sleeping bag. For the size, the Petzl e plus Lite Headlamp is more than adequate in a pinch. The three white LEDs throw a beam of 62 feet in maximum mode, or lights the route 36 feet ahead in economy mode. Built for tucking into a survival kit and then forgetting about it until the time comes that you need it, the e+Lite Headlamp has a shelf life of 10 years. It also features white and red strobe modes for rescue purposes, has an option to illuminate with the red LED alone to preserve night vision, and has a lock mechanism to keep the switch from accidentally turning on inside your backpack. The e+Lite's head strap also works as a wristband for mounting the light on the hand or forearm, and a clip allows for easy mounting on a hat, helmet, shirt or backpack shoulder strap. A ball joint attaches the lighting unit to a base where the strap is attached. This ball joint allows the Petzl e+Lite Headlamp to rotate a full 360º for unlimited aiming.

If you are a Weight Weenie, like to save room and are a more spartan outdoor person this is the light for you! When I load my backpack, every ounce and square inch counts in my book. This light is amazing and the batteries are smaller and lighter than AAA batteries that are in other headlamps.

This is a great headlamp! I have had many before, but for being a small female it fits great and has many benefits. On the low setting it is great for reading, and the high setting is great for walking at night!

A good emergency headlamp in case you get lost or batteries run low on your existing headlamp. Also works well as a lightweight headlamp providing ample light by itself with two brightness modes, has the emergency blinking and red night time modes as well. A great lightweight headlamp to have on your camping, hiking, or climbing trip.

The headlamp is small and produces enough light for walking in the dark. It is not good for seeing long distances at night. Make sure to take extra batteries when packing it along.

Bought 4 of these and love em. Used on JMT and Africa travels. Usually have used the Photon lights. These are 2 to 3 times the weight, but still only an oz and the extra time and brightness and headlamp ability make it worth it.

This little light hooks right onto my cap for hunting nightcrawlers. It is also great out on the river or lake bank when fishing. I think this is a real plussssssss for any tackle box. Let alone using it for camping and going for walks at night. It's a great all around light.

this light gets the job done. super lite, super bright, plus it has great features. the only thing i don't like is the head strap. but, its has a good carrying case and the battery life is incredible.

For an extra headlamp, its an incredible tool to have. Whether your batteries are running low 6 pitches up or you can't see to read the last chapter in your tent, the e+Lite is a magnificent back-up. The e+lite on its own would make a great ultralight backpackers headlamp, and the battery life is incredible. It doesn't run on normal batteries, but the battery that it comes with is still easy to find and will last YEARS with normal use. It also has a bunch of light emitting features that can help make its unusually long life even longer. You won't be able to spot deer, but it will give you enough light to get home. Throw it in your pack. What's the harm in a little extra visual security? Contact me for more information.

The size and function of this headlamp means that everyone should carry one at least in their car. It is hard to believe that where technology is going. This head lamp serves all the functions you need around camp, cooking and reading as well as it larger cousins. Well done Petzl
