Petzl Reverso Belay Device

Given that the belay is the critical link to safe climbing, the Petzl Reverso takes the process to the next level in simplicity and reliability. When belaying from above, and attached directly to an anchor's power point, this unique device is auto locking in the event of a catch. Offering independent belaying of two simul-climbing seconds, the auto locking feature requires amazingly minimal hand management. Good for single or double rope technique, the Reverso keeps rope separate for easier clipping off at alternate points, avoids crossing of line while rappelling, and does not twist the rope. Grooved spacers at the break over point provide excellent control for rappelling, lowering, or power belaying the leader. Designed for all styles of climbing, this multipurpose tool is a must have.

Great Belay / Rapel device
As an AMGA guide, I've used the Reverso since it came out for guiding and personal use. I'm on my third one, and I just purchased it from Altrec. The Reverso is a safe and effective tool that makes my life a lot easier at the crags. From belaying on the ground to belaying up your second, I've fallen in love with the Reverso and I will always have this type of belay device on my harness.

great tool
The reverso is a great belay / rappel device. I use it almost exclusively now - especially when climbing on double ropes. You'll need to be a bit savvy to release the tension of a weighted rope - but overall a 5 star piece of gear.

Incredibly Versatile
This product has alot to offer at a great price. You can belay two climbers at the same time on multi-pitch climbs(like when you have that dreaded party of three). You can lock off a climber to reduce the load on your harness. And you can use it just like a regular belay device. It's really awesome and I highly recommend it if you climb long routes.
