Very compact, ultralight, and super-easy to operate! Extremely convenient with its built-in night-vision filter. In addition to its 4 white-light settings, if you put the filter on, you also get 4 red-light settings. Recommended~Pros: Great design, Build quality, Ease of use, Great value, ultralight, very bright

This was a great gift for my brother the hunter. Headlamps are always useful to have around and this one will not let you down; long lasting, durable and I got a great deal on it as well.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great value
Best of both worlds...

It's nice to have a headlamp that isn't all these wacky colors.... not to mention functional. The ease of going from red to clean, white light is great.

I recently started camping almost every weekend, and needed a tough, reliable hands free light. I had originally bought a cheapie and was disappointed. But this petzel product does the job. Its bright, its not heavy or bulky, and the battery life is seemingly neverending. I just got back from a cold rainy camping trip and used it around the house. It lasted through the downpour and the cold. I am definately please with this purchase.Pros: Great design, Build quality, Performance, Ease of use, Great value, lightweight

I love the red, you can see much more around you at night rather than just the blaring beam of the white light. Though the white light is great for reading at night.

The lamp is light enough that you don't need to tighten the headband too much, so it's very comfortable to wear for long stretches. It's also easy to orient the beam, and the red flip filter is incredibly convenient. On many other lamps you need to swap out filters, which is very impractical, or you need to press a button several times to switch light color, which increases the risk that you might accidentally flash someone's night vision with your white beam. So having the flip filter is really good.

I like the red LED a lot. And the normal light on it shines a lot farther than any other LEDs.
the BEST headlamp!!

I had my first Tactikka Plus headlamp for over 2 years and used it almost each & every night throughout that time. It proved to be very durable & water resistant, and only finally failed when a large, enthusiastic dog found it to be also useful as a chew toy! The only other issue the headlamp had was when one of my favorite features, the red flip filter, failed. It suddenly disappeared, without any warning of being loose, after 12-18 months. This is the only reason I gave a 4 quality rating rather than a 5. I look forward to having another one of these headlamps very soon... don't like being without it. The red filter is very valuable when working with farm animals at night, so they are not blinded. Also, if we wake up during the night, it is recommended to use red light only, which will not disrupt our melatonin secretion, so will not decrease the quality of our sleep. The ease of using red light with this headlamp makes it the Best headlamp choice I've found, and an especially valuable back-up light source for every home. Get one!Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, red light source

This is my second tactikka and it is excellent! No need to look elsewhere for a headlamp. My old one was given to my friend since he needed one. Told him to keep it and I got a new one. This light is the best for all around use and the red lens makes map reading at night great. No loss of sight!

White LED shines a lot, tested during earthquake rescue operations at Conception -Chile.

No frills, but the red filter is really nice for pre-dawn summit bids. The red is also great for doing camp chores after dark when backpacking. If you use it mountaineering, opt for lithium AAA batteries instead of alkaline batteries. They are lighter and less affected by extreme cold.
