Description

Completely redesigned for this season, the Petzl Tikka XP 2 Headlamp is versatile, powerful, and has 5 lighting modes. Similar to the Tikka Plus 2 headlamp, the Tikka XP 2 integrates to light sources and is equipped with 1 high output white LED and 1 red LED, but the Tikka XP 2 features a wide angle lens, allowing you to choose between a long distance focused beam or flood beam proximity lights. Delivering over 60 lumens of lighting power, the Tikka XP 2 can shine up to 60 meters and light your path for up to 160 hours, in white economy mode. The red light LED option offers better night vision and can be used as a blinking light for safety or a call for rescue. Now easier to operate, the Tikkia XP 2 has a hinged battery compartment that opens wide, an original push-button switch to shift between lighting modes, and a battery charge indicator light, so you won't get caught in the dark. If you are looking for a small, lightweight, energy efficient headlamp that doesn't compromise visibility and shines bright, the Petzl Tikka XP 2 Headlight will deliver. Other LED headlamps you might be interested in are the Petzl Tikka Plus 2, the Petzl Zipka Plus 2, and the Petzl Myo XP.

Tikka XP 2 Headlamp 4.8 5 20 20
Great all around headlamp I bought this headlamp for my girlfriend last year and she loves it. She uses it for all-around activities, such as night running, XC skiing, and walking the dogs. I also steal it sometimes for night bike rides. We live in Alaska, so adequate lighting is key. This is not the headlamp that is bright enough on its own for nighttime backcountry excursions, but it is good enough to get you around the campsite. All in all, I would recommend this headlamp as the all-inclusive and all-pupuse headlamp. December 31, 2011
Great Headlamp! Very happy This headlamp is exactly what I wanted. Its bright, has the red light setting that not many headlamps have, and its a pretty good price! The batteries last forever! September 29, 2011
Pretty in Purple Got a headlamp with white LED's only? Do you camp? Is it dark by the time u finally sit down for dinner? Tired of bugs who are attracted to the white light dive-bombing your foil dinner? Petzl Tikka XP 2 has a RED led, FTW! Bugs dont seem to be attracted to the red light. I prefer my campout dinners bug-free usually.....not to mention it looks pretty in purple, oh soooo pretty. I have used a Princeton Tec in the past. It cracked along the side. I emailed Princeton Tec 3 times. They claim to have an excellent warranty. I still havent gotten a resonse back. I guess im done buying Princeton Tec products. So far i love this new headlamp. And its purple. Flawless victory. September 21, 2011
Awesome headlamp! This headlamp is perfect. It's powerful, bright light makes it easy to find your way on the trail. It's lightweight and very comfortable on your head. I really like the settings the light has to offer as well as the diffuser slide. Great lamp for any adventure! August 26, 2011
Great Buy I have used many high end hand held flash lights for years and finally decided to switch to hands free and I will never go back. Unless you are some expert cave explorer I cannot imagine you needing a light any better than this one. Fit is great and easy to use! July 27, 2011
Very impressed It had been a while since I had purchased a new headlamp (other than some of the cheaper ones you get at retail stores) and I'm very impressed with this lamps features and brightness. The last Petzel headlight I owned was on of the regular bulb type which for its time was the best you could get; it weighed a ton (compared to these new LEDs) and took an obscure battery pack you had to special order. The Tikka XP uses regular batteries and is very light. The brightness and zoom options plus the red LED (night vision) are great features. Can't comment on battery life yet as I've only had it a short time. May 5, 2011
I ordered the Tikka XP 2 upon many great reviews and viewing different headlamps and I decided this one was the one to go with, needless to say it was an excellent choice and I couldn't be happier. April 3, 2011
Great Headlamp I had to replacean old Petzl that was dropped and broken after several years of frequent (almost daily) use. I compared models and I know I made a great choice with the Tikka XP 2. It is easy to operate, comfortable to wear and gives great light. February 8, 2011
Nice versatile headlamp Just a nice little headlamp. The Tikka quality is evident right out of the package. Beam is bright and the eonomy mode is great. Don't really use the red night vision mode but suppose I will eventually and is nice knowing it's there and can be used in blinking mode for easy location or rescue if needed. Overall just a great light to have in your pack. December 30, 2010
Best on the Market! This headlamp more than exceeded my expectations, it is bright and versatile with all the features. i love the red light, its great when camping in groups and you stay up late reading or when nature calls in the middle of the night. the spotlight is great and the diffuser has a great range of motion! and has an extra feature not mentioned... it has a whistle in the headband! overall great headlamp and not too bad price either! December 30, 2010
This headlamp is very bright and durable. I use it for duck hunting and it works great. November 15, 2010
Great Little Lightweight Headlamp I LOVE my Tikka XP 2 headlamp. As a professional landscape photographer that often ends up navigating back to my vehicle, or camp, after dark this is an essential tool for me. I have an XP 2 in each of my camera packs. I like the lightweight and bright beam. When used on low power, for reading and eating, the three AAA batteries have a long life. The red "night vision" feature is appreciated, but not used by me too often. I have had zero problems with any of my XP 2's. Highly recommended. November 3, 2010
Good headlamp for running Used this headlamp for Cascade Lakes Relay and Hood to Coast Relay. Dispersive light for seeing the edge of the road. Focal light for seeing further ahead on the road. No bouncing. No headaches (needed to tighten up other headlamps to prevent bouncing which caused headaches). Convenient for seeing around the campsite or field at night or early morning. Highly recommend this headlamp. October 26, 2010
This is a great light. I had the tika plus for several years but had to replace it due to leaking batteried. This light is very bright. I like the spot light and diffuser feature. It is a little lerger them the previous one but its still pretty compact. I so wish the red light has different brightness settings though, i use to use the red lens kit on the older one so i had several settings. i have not had it in soaking conditions yet but i hope it will hold up like my previous one. if it does get soaked I would dry the batteries off. October 12, 2010
Great headlamp I used this lamp for the first time camping in Tahoe this week end. What a great lamp! Much brighter than the older models. I love the spot light and how easily you can switch from one setting to the next. I was able to hike at night, cook meals in the dark without the need of a lantern, locate trails and more, without effort. The red light setting surely helps maintain your night vision, or in my case to turn the light on in my tent without waking my wife up because of the flood of white light. I love this product and I highly recomend it to any hiker/camper/outdoor enthusiast. September 24, 2010
Great light! This is the one! I always seem to have my eye out for the next best headlamp. This one is going to hold my attention for some time though. The spot beam is very bright & holds a tight pattern. I really like the diffuser option too. Perfect for sitting around at camp & not blinding your camping buddies. I haven't hiked at night with it yet, but, I think it would light the way perfectly. The red beam is nice too (not terribly bright). August 30, 2010
Awesome! I just used this on a backpacking/climbing trip. I give it 5 stars. It's super bright. Battery doesn't die after a day of use, and over all- awesome quality! July 27, 2010
Buy it....you won't regret it Was looking for an upgrade from the Petzl Tikka Plus...more than happy. Fulfills the extra brightness i was looking for with a few additional nice features. A little pricey but worth it for the quality. April 23, 2010
Improvement over my old Zipka I recently bought this for winter camping. Much more comfortable than my old zipka when worn for extended periods. Still on the original batteries but probably only 30-40 hours. Simple design and easy to change batteries. January 24, 2010
Brightest light I've used. I recently bought this light for climbing in Red Rocks - Las Vegas. Used it for the approach and climb. It worked out great. The lens that changes from flood to spot light really does the trick. Plenty of light to see the route while I was placing gear and climbing. Haven't used the red light feature yet, but it's there if you need it. Super good on the batteries too. December 14, 2009
