Love my Platy!
July 08, 2011
Absolutley love this water bottle! You can guzzle as little or as much as you want without the glug glug of the air going back into a hard bottle. It's very durable, I've had it over a half a year and use it basically every day and it is still in great condition. Love it and will for sure get more in the future. The only con that I can think of it that the cap isn't super easy to clean, but still not too difficult.
Pros: Great design, Build quality, Lasts forever, Performance, Ease of use, Great valueDid you recently buy the Platypus Platy Bottle? Write a review.
great tool to have when hiking and want to conserve space

Haven't found one thing to dislike about this bottle. It compresses as you drink out of it making it a great space saver. It is a little hard to fill from a stagnant source but it can be done, just get creative.
COMPACT AND LIGHT

NICE AND COMPACT BOTTLES AND LIGHT WEIGHT. WOULD RECOMMEND ESPECIALLY FOR BACKPACKING.
great modular bottle

these bottles is excellent in many regards. First they are one of the lightest options out there for hydration, so its perfect for all the gram counters with sub 5lb packs. Also, the modular caps allow you to transform the bottle into a light weight hydration system (just buy the hydration tube kit). Furthermore, these things collapse like no body's business, fitting the small crevices of your pack. Only downsides i can see are its small opening which makes it a little hard to fill and dry.

great and cheap

the platypus bottles are a great cheap alternative to more expensive collapsible hydration systems. the only problem is that they are a little too thin. but cheap enough to buy a new one when they give out.
I'm converted, takes the place of water bottles

I like how they can be stowed away, packing much easier than bottles. The fact that they are lighter than bottles is also a plus when every ounce matters.
Great Buy!

I love these Platy bottles! I agree that the small opening can make it difficult to fill from a water source while on the trail... but there are ways around this. Buy a second one liter Platy bottle and cut it at an angle (from 2/3 up from the base and across to the top corner), and you have an instant ultralight water scoop that you can use to pour into your other Platy bladders! Great and cheap hydration bladders!
